Magatia's a beautiful town with a well crafted story and a myriad of training spots. This is something most people have come to terms with. But, what specifically is there to do there? What's worthwhile, and what's dangerous? These questions seem to be popping up more and more as Magatia's release draws imminent, so I'm hoping to address them all right here.

How to get there
Go to Orbis, and hop on the Genie to Ariant. Upon arriving at Ariant, head to the far right of town, and take the second to last portal. This should lead you into the map with Meerkats. Assuming Nexon adds it, there should be a Camel NPC located here, who will take you to Magatia for 1500 Mesos. If it's not there, just keep walking straight down this path. The sky grows darker, the sweltering sun sets, and when you finally arrive, it will be night time.
Now, Magatia's hunting grounds are split into three basic areas. The first, which if you walked here, you will have passed through, are the desert maps. They're pretty similar to the most distant maps of Ariant but they're made up of their own monsters. The other two areas are inside the town itself. These are some of the only indoor hunting grounds in the game, so it's somewhat unique from that aspect alone. At the left end of town, you can find the Jenumists. The Jenumist laboratory is mostly biological monsters, and it's not as great for training as the Alchadeno side. However, the strongest non-boss monster in the town spawns on this side. It's rather rare, though, so don't expect to be training on it. The last, but certainly not least, is the Alchadeno Laboratories. They combine alchemy with technology to accomplish their goals. The monsters here reflect this, and tend to be mechanical in nature. A lot of the best spots are in this area, and it has a much more cold and industrial feel to it.
Magatia is home to a number of great training spots for levels as low as 20 and as high as 70. Some classes can train all the way to 3rd job without ever having to leave the Nihal Desert. I'll list a few here so you can get an idea of what's to come. If you have some to add, bring them up.
There are other places, but most of them are outclassed by Voodoo/Hoodoo, Windraiders, and Singapore, so I won't bother listing them. Of course, if you care to investigate the rest of Magatia's monsters, you can check them out:

How are the Quests?
Quests are probably one of the biggest draws in Magatia. They start off in the lower 3x. At 35, you will find yourself with a choice: To join the Alchadeno, or to join the Jenumists. Don't fret, this is no life or death decision. In fact, you may join both teams! Simply go to Broker Han, who is located in the center of Magatia, and start both quests at once. For the Jenumists, simply drop the item onto the Alchemy circle and it'll transform into a branch. Hand the branch over, and you're in. For the Alchadeno, Broker Han will tell you the answers to the chairman's quiz, and you just need to remember them long enough to answer all the questions right. Do it, and you're in.
Upon being inducted to the groups, you'll receive the cape of said faction:
![[Image: rope0cape.png]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/Isaac_mage/rope0cape.png)
Jenumist Cape
![[Image: rope0cape-1.png]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/Isaac_mage/rope0cape-1.png)
Alchadeno Cape
These capes aren't particularly special stat wise, and have no slots. They are, however, tradeable. Both give 5 speed and 2 jump. The unique thing about some of these Magatia quests is that you actually have to WEAR the cape in order to start the quest.
Aside from the two groups, there are also some people in town who don't belong to either side. Kinny, a half-fairy (a rare mix), her mother Philia, Humanoid A the robotic man, and the previously mentioned Broker Han. These people have quests which don't require capes (as do some of the faction aligned characters) and generally represent neutral interests. Being fairies, Kinny and Philia sometimes send you off to Orbis.
It's not until 7x when the storyline really gets rolling. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but I think most of us are aware that the Black Magician is from Magatia and so it deals with his backstory somewhat. Magatia was the first town released that mentioned him, and kicked off this storyline which extends through Nautilus, Elin, and Ereb. At the very end of the quest chain, you'll come into possession of some very valuable information. With this, you are given a true decision: To turn it over to the Jenumists, to turn it over to the Alchadeno, or to tell the truth to the neutral family. By picking either faction, your cape will be upgraded to a level 80, untradeable version. By picking the neutral group, you'll get a large amount of fame.
The only other noteworthy quest is a repeatable quest from Kinny to make Machinist's gloves. They're common job, and level 70, so they may turn out to be a popular alternative to work gloves. If not, well you can always NPC them for cash.
So I heard there's a PQ...
Well the PQ isn't necessarily guaranteed (Think PPQ...), it'll be here soon enough. The PQ requires a party of 4-6, and has two different entrance points: One from Romeo on the Jenumist side, and one from Juliet on the Alchadeno side. The names may possibly be changed to Brady and Brittney, but I'm still holding out hope for Romeo and Juliet. Two things are required: A thief with max haste, and a magician with max teleport. By doing this PQ, you can potentially earn the Eye of Horus, a pendant:
It's outclassed by the Sheriff's badge, but it definitely beats the Speigelmann Pendant. To get it, you need to get 30 (or maybe 15? I think it was reduced) items from Romeo and 30 from Juliet. You can only get these if you keep Romeo/Juliet alive during the PQ.
I'd recommend you check out ZYXWVUT's thread, but if you have trouble loading it (it's rather intensive) I'll just link them here:
That's from Tespia, though, so it may not be entirely accurate. You can always check http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/...arty_Quest though.
I Can't Wait for Maker!
I wouldn't count on Maker coming in this patch. It's possible, of course, but Maker was created in KMS about 10 months after Magatia's release. Think we'll get it so soon? I don't really expect it. If you want to learn more about Maker, or just have no idea what I'm talking about, you should head over to The Maker Skill thread. Fiel will have forging recipes up soon, so keep your eyes out for that!
Hope this answers everyone's questions. you can add to the thread or ask your own questions here too, though I might not have answers you like.

Training SpotsMagatia is home to a number of great training spots for levels as low as 20 and as high as 70. Some classes can train all the way to 3rd job without ever having to leave the Nihal Desert. I'll list a few here so you can get an idea of what's to come. If you have some to add, bring them up.
- First spot worth looking into is definitely Sand Rats.
![[Image: stand10.png]](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v204/Isaac_mage/stand10.png)
http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/...0#Sand_Rat
Sand Rats are very mobby, and fairly quick. To walk to Magatia you'll literally be stepping on their heads. Because of this extremely dense spawn, it's not very practical for archers, gunslingers, and assassins. However, they're great for Brawlers and Warriors, who should already have their mob attacks to a good level by now. If you're a Somersault-first Gunslinger, you might also try this place with a Fish Spear equipped. Cons are that you'll be taking a lot of touch damage and though it's not high, it's near constant. Still, even for unfunded it's a great option. Map is nice and flat, making for easy training. Works for 20-27 or so, depending on the level of your mob skills when you start. Best map is Sahel Area 3.
- The next area to check out is Scorpions.
![[Image: MS_Monster_Scorpion.png]](http://media.strategywiki.org/images/2/2b/MS_Monster_Scorpion.png)
http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/...0#Scorpion
You might recognize these suckers from Ariant Coliseum. The ordinary ones are a fair bit weaker. As you might notice, the stats are the same as Meerkat, but scorpions have a better spawn. It's not as dense as Sand Rats, so this makes them a lot better for ranged classes, and those lacking mob skills in first job. Their HP/EXP ratio isn't as good as Sand Rats either. These are a good alternative if you can't find a Sand Rat map. They share the same flat map design as Sand Rats also. Best map is Sahel Area 1.
- Heading into Town, let's look at Cube Slimes of the Jenumist side!
![[Image: MS_Monster_Cube_Slime.png]](http://media.strategywiki.org/images/5/59/MS_Monster_Cube_Slime.png)
http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/...Cube_Slime
These are a step up from Scorpions. They're mediocre in comparison to some of the other things you could be doing at this level range, and their spawn isn't pure; they're mixed with the Rumo, the next monster I'll list. These cons aside, it's a two tier map with a moderate spawn, but it's main redeeming point is that you can snipe from a few spots. (If you look at my screenshot up there, it's the book cart you stand on) Unlike the last two, Cube slimes can jump, so that's something to watch out for. This is basically a transitional area to get you used to the inside of Magatia. Not stunning, but not terrible. Best from 28-32ish. The map is called "Room 101", though the name will likely change.
- Rumo, a monster that's mixed with Cube Slimes.
![[Image: MS_Monster_Bottle_Seed.png]](http://media.strategywiki.org/images/4/48/MS_Monster_Bottle_Seed.png)
http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/...31-40#Rumo
Rumo spawn in all three rooms on the first floor of the Jenumist Labs, though their spawn is always mixed. The best room to hunt them in is made up mostly of Rumo, with the occasional Cube Slime popping in. Rumo can't jump, so no worries; their hitbox is also really small, so it's rather easy to hit them from atop the cart mentioned earlier. These are good for lower to mid 3x, though if you train there for long the sound of shattering glass may drive you insane. Best hunted in 102, though rooms 101 and 103 are also viable. Room 103 also spawns the more dangerous Triple Rumo.
- Iron Mutae, a personal favorite.
![[Image: MS_Monster_Iron.png]](http://media.strategywiki.org/images/f/f3/MS_Monster_Iron.png)
http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/...Iron_Mutae
Iron Mutae are best found at B-3, a map on the Alchadeno side of town. It's a really great spot for upper 3x to 45, and you could even go to 50 on them if you wanted. I spent a large portion of my Brawler's training days here in KMS. The map has some platforms, however the spawn is confined to the floor, so the platforms act as sniping spots. If you take a peek at the screenshot above, you can hit the mutae from the lower platform with Somersault Kick. The best strategy here is to run from end to end hitting all the monsters, then hop up on the safe spot and mob them all. Gunslingers can hit with invisible shot from the lower platform as well, I believe, with no risk of whacking. Archers, on the other hand, might run into trouble with this, and Iron Arrow's lack of a bend renders the map rather ineffective for them. If Iron Mutae are full, you can always run across the hall to B-1 and start fighting Mithril Mutae. They're not as good, but still an option.
- The gold mine of Magatia, Roids.
![[Image: MS_Monster_Roid.png]](http://media.strategywiki.org/images/7/7b/MS_Monster_Roid.png)
http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/...51-60#Roid
Bad jokes aside, Roids are the single greatest training spot in Magatia. They drop some useful equipment, and they'll definitely help the supply of pirate gear increase. Roids pick up right where Iron Mutae leave off, and can be effectively trained on from 50-70. At 50, you'll like want to start off at C-1. C-1 is a pure map with a similar structure to Iron Mutae. This map is a little less intensive and not as highly desired as the coveted C-2. The map you most often hear of is C-2. This map is long, with a fast spawn. It isn't purely roids, however; there are a few NeoHuroids mixed in as well. They do possess a magic attack, which is why those on the lower end are recommended to go to C-1 for starters.
There are other places, but most of them are outclassed by Voodoo/Hoodoo, Windraiders, and Singapore, so I won't bother listing them. Of course, if you care to investigate the rest of Magatia's monsters, you can check them out:
