What can you expect in Magatia? - IsaacGS - 2008-12-13 Magatia's a beautiful town with a well crafted story and a myriad of training spots. This is something most people have come to terms with. But, what specifically is there to do there? What's worthwhile, and what's dangerous? These questions seem to be popping up more and more as Magatia's release draws imminent, so I'm hoping to address them all right here. sections: How to get there Training Spots How are the Quests? So I heard there's a PQ... I Can't Wait for Maker! How to get there Go to Orbis, and hop on the Genie to Ariant. Upon arriving at Ariant, head to the far right of town, and take the second to last portal. This should lead you into the map with Meerkats. Assuming Nexon adds it, there should be a Camel NPC located here, who will take you to Magatia for 1500 Mesos. If it's not there, just keep walking straight down this path. The sky grows darker, the sweltering sun sets, and when you finally arrive, it will be night time.

Now, Magatia's hunting grounds are split into three basic areas. The first, which if you walked here, you will have passed through, are the desert maps. They're pretty similar to the most distant maps of Ariant but they're made up of their own monsters. The other two areas are inside the town itself. These are some of the only indoor hunting grounds in the game, so it's somewhat unique from that aspect alone. At the left end of town, you can find the Jenumists. The Jenumist laboratory is mostly biological monsters, and it's not as great for training as the Alchadeno side. However, the strongest non-boss monster in the town spawns on this side. It's rather rare, though, so don't expect to be training on it. The last, but certainly not least, is the Alchadeno Laboratories. They combine alchemy with technology to accomplish their goals. The monsters here reflect this, and tend to be mechanical in nature. A lot of the best spots are in this area, and it has a much more cold and industrial feel to it.

Training SpotsMagatia is home to a number of great training spots for levels as low as 20 and as high as 70. Some classes can train all the way to 3rd job without ever having to leave the Nihal Desert. I'll list a few here so you can get an idea of what's to come. If you have some to add, bring them up.
There are other places, but most of them are outclassed by Voodoo/Hoodoo, Windraiders, and Singapore, so I won't bother listing them. Of course, if you care to investigate the rest of Magatia's monsters, you can check them out: http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Monsters#GlobalMS How are the Quests? Quests are probably one of the biggest draws in Magatia. They start off in the lower 3x. At 35, you will find yourself with a choice: To join the Alchadeno, or to join the Jenumists. Don't fret, this is no life or death decision. In fact, you may join both teams! Simply go to Broker Han, who is located in the center of Magatia, and start both quests at once. For the Jenumists, simply drop the item onto the Alchemy circle and it'll transform into a branch. Hand the branch over, and you're in. For the Alchadeno, Broker Han will tell you the answers to the chairman's quiz, and you just need to remember them long enough to answer all the questions right. Do it, and you're in. Upon being inducted to the groups, you'll receive the cape of said faction: ![]() Jenumist Cape ![]() Alchadeno Cape These capes aren't particularly special stat wise, and have no slots. They are, however, tradeable. Both give 5 speed and 2 jump. The unique thing about some of these Magatia quests is that you actually have to WEAR the cape in order to start the quest. Aside from the two groups, there are also some people in town who don't belong to either side. Kinny, a half-fairy (a rare mix), her mother Philia, Humanoid A the robotic man, and the previously mentioned Broker Han. These people have quests which don't require capes (as do some of the faction aligned characters) and generally represent neutral interests. Being fairies, Kinny and Philia sometimes send you off to Orbis. It's not until 7x when the storyline really gets rolling. I'm not going to spoil it for you, but I think most of us are aware that the Black Magician is from Magatia and so it deals with his backstory somewhat. Magatia was the first town released that mentioned him, and kicked off this storyline which extends through Nautilus, Elin, and Ereb. At the very end of the quest chain, you'll come into possession of some very valuable information. With this, you are given a true decision: To turn it over to the Jenumists, to turn it over to the Alchadeno, or to tell the truth to the neutral family. By picking either faction, your cape will be upgraded to a level 80, untradeable version. By picking the neutral group, you'll get a large amount of fame. The only other noteworthy quest is a repeatable quest from Kinny to make Machinist's gloves. They're common job, and level 70, so they may turn out to be a popular alternative to work gloves. If not, well you can always NPC them for cash. So I heard there's a PQ... Well the PQ isn't necessarily guaranteed (Think PPQ...), it'll be here soon enough. The PQ requires a party of 4-6, and has two different entrance points: One from Romeo on the Jenumist side, and one from Juliet on the Alchadeno side. The names may possibly be changed to Brady and Brittney, but I'm still holding out hope for Romeo and Juliet. Two things are required: A thief with max haste, and a magician with max teleport. By doing this PQ, you can potentially earn the Eye of Horus, a pendant: It's outclassed by the Sheriff's badge, but it definitely beats the Speigelmann Pendant. To get it, you need to get 30 (or maybe 15? I think it was reduced) items from Romeo and 30 from Juliet. You can only get these if you keep Romeo/Juliet alive during the PQ. I'd recommend you check out ZYXWVUT's thread, but if you have trouble loading it (it's rather intensive) I'll just link them here:

That's from Tespia, though, so it may not be entirely accurate. You can always check http://strategywiki.org/wiki/MapleStory/Quests/Party_Quests#Magatia_Party_Quest though. I Can't Wait for Maker! I wouldn't count on Maker coming in this patch. It's possible, of course, but Maker was created in KMS about 10 months after Magatia's release. Think we'll get it so soon? I don't really expect it. If you want to learn more about Maker, or just have no idea what I'm talking about, you should head over to The Maker Skill thread. Fiel will have forging recipes up soon, so keep your eyes out for that! Hope this answers everyone's questions. you can add to the thread or ask your own questions here too, though I might not have answers you like. Personally I don't find Roids (C-1 and C-2) all that great. They are one of the most popular monsters to train on, so expect drama to occur (it's like Skelegons for low levels!). The Golem Mini Dungeon is a good alternative to C-1/2. Same exp, almost the same drops, more maps. What can you expect in Magatia? - Beserker101 - 2008-12-13 I am personally hoping are taking over by people so I can easily get straw target dummy maps. I just started training there with my brawler, it is definitely good enough for my liking. Although, who knows, maybe Magatia's release will ease them up for a few days regardless of roid popularity. What can you expect in Magatia? - psychopat - 2008-12-13 I'm fairly sure it is but I'd like to confirm... That's 60 hp & mana on that pendant, right? What's the +14 it gives... wdef? Also, is there any similar mechanism to the spiegelmann in terms of upgrading it? If there is, It'll save my pirate from getting 170 more carnival coins to get my sin a decent pendant

Golems are horrible compared to roids, they have the same exp but they are so freaking huge that you can barely mob them What can you expect in Magatia? - Mira - 2008-12-13 I really like Magatia as a town. The monsters are neat, the backgrounds are nice, npsc are ok, but the quests are its forte! They have an awesome storyline and their isn't a shortage of them. I really can't wait. I've wanted Magatia in GMS ever since i first saw it, and finally it's coming. Nice topic Isaac, always nice to read your wall of texts. ^_^( The only thing i won't like is picking a side! I'm so torn, I like them both. >: Edit: I meant at the end! >_<) What can you expect in Magatia? - Corn - 2008-12-13 Ah, I was screaming for the level of the party quest until I finally reached the strategywiki link, heh. I suppose I can train on Rumos until then... Edit: Hey Mira, wouldn't it be funny if we see someone similar to Kreiz in there, ha ha? What can you expect in Magatia? - KajitiSouls - 2008-12-13 Yet another PQ which really high levels cannot enjoy =( Oh well. Is this part of the dungeon different in KMS or something? Cause the Golem minidungeon blows hard compared to Forest of Golem or even Sleepywood Dungeon 5 in Global. Very poor spawn (2-3 per platform). What can you expect in Magatia? - Kirov - 2008-12-13 KajitiSouls Wrote:Yet another PQ which really high levels cannot enjoy =( Oh well. What can you expect in Magatia? - ItachiPower - 2008-12-13 Pwnage training spots!!! Yess! But I'm expecting a lot of ks like hoodoo/voodoos What can you expect in Magatia? - IsaacGS - 2008-12-13 Bite Wrote:would roids be better than MP3? for lvls 50-70?It's hard to get real comparisons since KMS doesn't have Singapore, but I'd be willing to bet that Roids will be better for at least the early part of that. Roids is also a much smaller map so there wouldn't necessarily be as much movement. psychopat Wrote:I'm fairly sure it is but I'd like to confirm... That's 60 hp & mana on that pendant, right? What's the +14 it gives... wdef? It's 60 wdef/mdef. If it were HP/MP it'd just say HP/MP in english like the main stats :p the 14 is avoid. Scrolls for it, I think they usually chaos scroll these :x I'm pretty sure they don't have a special scroll for it but that would need confirmation from someone who owns one in KMS. ItachiPower Wrote:Pwnage training spots!!! Yess! But I'm expecting a lot of ks like hoodoo/voodoosProbably yeah. C-2 is pretty hard to find an empty map even in KMS's down times, though we already have two alternatives (Voodoo/Hoodoo and Singapore) so I don't imagine it will be as bad. Again, hard to compare because KMS doesn't have a lot of the things we have to use (as mentioned earlier, no Singapore. No Voodoo either) and then you have to consider things like Warrior Elixirs that GMSers would use to train, but KMSers can't. We'll have to wait for some numbers after it gets released to compare. What can you expect in Magatia? - psychopat - 2008-12-13 Thanks Isaac. I guess they don't really render spiegelmanns obsolete for low hp classes... |
