What does taro taste like? I've always seen it advertised as a bubble tea flavor but never tried it.

I was told it's a rising trend to not drink the stuff, since the tapioca pearls have some kind of plastic in them.
I used to drink Bubble Tea with fresh ingredients, including taro which lacks the sweetness of the artificial, purple taro flavour and tastes nothing like actual taro.
