Dear players,

Nexon wants to bring you the very best in free-to-play games. A big part of that commitment is helping you keep your account safe and secure.

To that end, Nexon is proud to be a part of the Merchant Risk Councils Gamer Safety Alliance, a partnership of nine global companies committed to providing players everywhere with information and resources for safe and enjoyable gaming!

In observance of the Alliances first annual Gamer Safety Week, wed like to remind you of a few simple steps you can take to protect your account.

Tips for Protecting Your Account
  • Never give out your account information. Nexon will never ask you for your personal information, such as your account password.
  • Update your Nexon account password regularly. This is your first line of defense! Choose something that is easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess.
  • Always use additional account security options. Remember, the secondary security questions, Verify with Facebook, and in-game second passwords or PINs/PICs provide an extra layer of protection.
  • Be wary of third party sites and offers. If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is! Phishing sites may use URLs similar to the official Nexon site or may promise free NX. Its almost always a scam to steal your account information. Make sure you are on the official Nexon site before logging in.
  • Report suspicious activity. You can submit a ticket at any time through our Customer Support portal to alert us of malicious player activity.
Click here for additional tips on keeping your account secure.

Remember, you can visit your Account Settings page at any time to update your account information.

Together, we can keep our games safe, secure, and enjoyable for everyone!

Quote:Dear money,

Nexon wants to bring you the very best in stressing and pissing you off games. A big part of that commitment is helping you not keep your account safe and secure.

However, Nexon is not proud to be a part of the Merchant Risk Councils Gamer Safety Alliance, a partnership of nine global companies committed to providing players everywhere with information and resources for safe and enjoyable gaming!

In observance of the Alliances first annual Gamer Safety Week, wed [sic] like to remind you of a few simple futile steps you can take to protect your account.

Tips for Protecting Your Account that usually ends in futility

Never give out your account information. Nexon will give away your personal information for you, such as your account password.

Update your Nexon account password regularly. This is your false-sense of security! Choose something that is easy for you to remember but hard for others to guess, but will be leaked out by the database regardless.

Always use additional account security options. Remember, the secondary security questions, Verify with Facebook, and in-game second passwords or PINs/PICs provide an extra layer of false sense of protection.

Be wary of third party sites and offers. If something sounds too good to be true, do not worry about it! Phishing sites may use URLs similar to the official Nexon site or may promise free NX because they are not a bunch of filthy capitalist pigs. Its almost always a scam to steal your account information to liberate you from us. Make sure you are never on the official Nexon site before logging in as that site is probably less secure than phising sites.

Never report suspicious activity. You can submit a ticket at any time through our neglected Customer Support portal to alert us of malicious player activity, and we will do our best to ignore it because you are bothering us on our 23.5 hour coffee breaks.

Click here for REAL additional tips on keeping your account secure.

Remember, you can visit your Account Settings page at any time to update your account information, which will not do a thing to protect you.

Together, we cannot keep our games safe, secure, and enjoyable for everyone!

Now everyone contact the Merchant Risk Council and explain to them how Nexon America's shoddy security got their accounts violated while Nexon America stood by and did nothing to assist with it, prevent it, or acknowledge it.

If you've charged NX and had it stolen in particular they'd love to know about it.

Hahaha, oh wow. Fancy yourselves comedians?

This whole notice seems like a big, "pineapple you" from Nexon. How about updating your own security huh?

Any idea what they can do to Nexon if they get enough complaints against it? This seems like the best thing we can do at the moment to complain at Nexon if they really are seriously partaking in this "alliance."

If Nexon is misrepresenting them or what they stand for the best they can do is remove Nexon from their membership, or require Nexon to prove they're truly upholding the standards of the Council. If Nexon doesn't really care they'd just accept the disbarment and keep on as usual. If they actually felt it mattered somehow they'd do whatever it took to keep their standing.

That's merely a testimony to how many tickets they're receiving! I mean...think of ALL the possible things that people can complain about with this game!

Yeah, they're continuing to experience a high ticket volume at this time.
I'm sure "this time" will end real soon now, and they will catch up and reach your ticket.

Suspicious activity?

You mean like characters logging in from an IP they've never used before, going in MTS, and using exactly all their NX to buy a single arrow, the easiest in-game item to obtain, that was coincidentally listed shortly after they entered MTS?

Nope, not suspicious at all. Dozens of characters do this every day. Nexon has the MTS logs to prove it. Must be some kind of fad.

Do they have an E-mail contact? As much as I would love to complain, I'd rather not have to pick up a phone/use snail mail/fax.
