Critical Rate
#1
I am wondering about how Critical Rate works; especially in regards to the Phantom class.

Which Increases in Crit Rate are Multiplicative? Which ones are additive?

Explorers Ring, Sharp Eyes, Skills, Chain Lightning, etc.

Thanks ^.^

EDIT: In KMST 1.2.422 there is a new Adventurers Ring that stacks with the old ones. How much Crit from Equips is redundant?

Aren't they all additive? I've never noticed any skills with multiplicative crit bonuses, there is no point.

Start with 5% + 40% Class skill = 45%
+ 5% Explorers ring = 50%
+ 10% Sharp Eyes = 60%

Some skills have bonuses like the BaM's dark lightning with +50% crit rate. 60% + 50% = 110% but there is no point of going higher when 100% will always crit.

I've heard that there is a cap of 95% crit through buffs, skills and equips alone though

Isn't phantom's crit. mastery skill raise it by 50? And they start inherently with an extra 10 percent with their skill link skill.

Does the explorers ring only raise it by 5% The description says 10. Same question applies to their skill link.

Thank you so much for the quick response, people here seem very knowledgeable.

Oh you are right, sorry, i was using my Battle Mage as an example (and i chose a different explorer ring Tongue)
In that case, phantom would have:

5% + 10% +10% from the ring + 50% + 10% from sharp eyes, that would be 85%.
With a skill that has an innate crit chance, it would most definitely be 100% crit chance

Sharp Eyes is 20%, unless you mean the Useful version.
But since we're talking about Phantoms I'm going to assume we're talking about stolen skills.

Right now, I have a 10% critical ring, and a 4% crit claw. Base is 5%, and the skill gives me 50% more... Right now I have 69% critical chance. But when I make a phantom, and get it to lv 70, I'll have 79%, and that means that if I get sharp eyes (buffed from a bowman), I'll have 99% CRITICAL. ON ANY SKILL.

Can't wait Big Grin

tell me about it, i simply can't wait for the justice patch, my DrK will have:
5% base
10% explorer ring
10% phantom
30% dragon wisdom
10% zerk
---------
65% base critical rate, add decent SE for a whooping 75% crit... ON A WARRIOR, not to mention, crit damage is 120~150% of your normal damage.

+15% min crit dmg from wisdom
+15% min crit dmg from zerk
150~150% crit damage.

and on top of that impale goes from 135% to 180% damage, and sacrifice hits twice.

justice patch, i can't wait another moment.

Oh right, my bad. I only have Decent Sharp eyes Tongue

Damn, that means a phantom with that set up (which isn't even hard, as long as you have the ring) will have 95% Crit. and thats not even including any crit bonuses from weapons etc

Woah, that means Phantoms have 100% critical easily? That's carte noir EVERY hit.

It only activates once per attack, not hit.

Does that include Hurricane/Rapid Fire too?

Every hit of rapid fire is an attack.
Every 2 hits of ultimate drive is an attack.
etc.

So Carte Noir would activate on every hit of Rapid Fire with 100% critical rate?

I'm pretty sure there's been proof against this. If I'm wrong, or it's been changed, then that would mean a Phantom's dps would increase exponentially after every hit of any Hurrican skill if someone managed to get 100% crit rate on it.

Would probably be why all those KMS videos of Phantoms nuking bosses use Rapid Fire.

My NL is going to hit 95% Crit as well with Phantom's release, gonna be fun.

Duh, if noir "critted" it'd trigger another noir... that'd trigger another...

Of course it can't, and if it did, it'd mean infinity damage per hit.
