question:

my bishop is my MW/buff mule, so I've maxed all those skills. SI have 14 points left over and I have bahamut open to max as well as infinity opened to max level. Should I got bahamut or infinity considering my bishop will basically be support based? I have maxed Angel ray already as well. and level 19 MW. No money to go beyond that unfortunately.

For pure sitting on a rope hs muling, infinity is nice because you use it instead of mp pots. Bahamut's passive status resistance would be nice for bossing support, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're talking about.

Argh, I want max Doom on my Bishop, but I have no idea how to go around that. However, it all comes down to three skills:

>Take points from Booster
>Take points from Shining Ray
>Take points from Door

Is Shining Ray so much more useful now that it's used a lot on 4th job? I mean, even after maxed AR? If so, I'm thinking of taking 5 points from Door and 4 from Booster, what do you guys think?

And, about my F/P...

>2nd job: only 1 point in FA
>3rd job: 11 points in Explosion
>4th job: Paralyze then Mist Eruption

That's about right, right? :f6:

Also, what's the best Special Mastery Book to take with a low 12x Bishop? AR or Adv.Bless? Are AR books expensive atm? I know that for my F/P I think I should go for Mist Eruption (already have a few Paralyze books), unless I fail all of my Paralyze books Rolleyes

I personally took points out of Shining Ray, but it definitely has a different hitbox than Angel Ray, so it has circumstantial uses I'm missing out on without it mapped anymore. Still though, having to work with just angel ray's hitbox isn't bad, and I think it's better than having to rebuff more frequently or having a door that's too short to repot or do other things.

You should take whichever book will speed your training to max the other skill fastest XD

If you need an extra perk to get parties faster since you like hsing on the rope, take adv bless. If you fight with your party, take AR, so you get a larger share of the exp

I'd take out of booster. Mages get buff mastery anyway and their stuff last a long time o_o

So anyone have a good f\p mage build I could kinda base mine off of, or any suggestions, cause after the skill that adds magic damage I dont know what to do first, booster? Is fire demon>explosion? Posion mist for big DoT? etc.

Seal or thunder spear, that is the question....
Is seal useful for anything, and does thunder spear have more practical use than seal?

Thanks guys, I've gone the take-a-few-points-from-Door-and-Booster route. And I'm regretting it already lol. I'll surely use one of my SP resets to take all points from SR to max Doom.

Get 1 in Explosion then some Booster (like, 6), then max Amp, Teleport Mastery (if your delay allows you to telecast Explosion) and then Explosion until 11? The rest is up to you. But this is just a guess, because I've leveled my F/P mage before the Jump patch.

explosion doesnt scale well... and since theres no DoT its the obvious choice to leave unmaxed, and max fire demon hits harder than 11 explosion. the only bad thing about fire demon is if you cant 1hko off the hit's %, the DoT cant be the finisher and you HAVE to use another attack.

1 burning magic sorta early is also nice

at 100 i have:
1 burning magic
19 mist
20 booster
20 demon
10 tele mastery
20 amp
1 explosion

i probably would have gone 20 demon then 20 amp first, w/ 1 point in burning magic
or if heavily funded, max tele mastery and just use that to 1hko everything Tongue

in hindsight, swapping some booster for ele decrease would be ok too

If you care about end-game DPS being the highest it can possibly be, you should max out Fire Demon.
Since Mist Explosion benefits from every DoT currently on a monster, you're going to want to use Fire Demon even into 4th Job and, in that case, there's no reason not to have it do the highest damage it can.

If I cared more about the people on Basilmarket, I'd warn them to look at their 4th Job and look closely at Mist Explosion's properties.
I've seen so many people say to go Explosion over Demon...

Well it seems to me that fire demons attack are faster then explosions but a bit and that could be useful plus dat 7k DoT with 2 lvl 1 skills a monster park is great since its almost like a hit from fire demon (7k DoT vs. 12k fire demon). I was thinking after amp 1 in the first skill on the list(forget the name) and some booster then max fire demon as main attacking move along with poison mist after finishing booster. Thoughts?

Seal is useful in PvP and that's about it. Thunder Spear is outclassed by Ice Demon as a 1v1 skill though.
Go for Seal.
