Rebecca Black - My Moment

So you're saying that we should ignore the quality of the actual song and evaluate on the basis that this a song we'd expect from our little sister who would want her ten minutes of fame on youtube.

Simple answer: No.

What I'm saying is a lot of people are gonna simply judge her on this song with 'Friday' and her reputation in the past year on hand. Not on this song for what it is. If you don't like the song, you don't like the song. If you like the song, you like the song. But there's no reason in judging the quality of HER for what she puts out, doing that just means you have something against her and not her content, which is hurdur cause she's just being a kid and YEAH, probably wants her 15 minutes of fame, just like every musician by standards of today really.

EDIT - I'm only saying all this because I felt that you were calling her pathetic for this, not the song pathetic; which doesn't seem that fair. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not going to continue this conversation because it will get very ugly.

Uh, okay. I don't see how, we were just saying our points on the song. But that's fine, I suppose.
Just another case of someone taking s'hit too seriously on the internet.

I think the song itself is very bad, to be quite honest. Your defense of her as a person made me very tempted to post this in response to your previous post. From which I refrained from doing so, but will proceed now, as you gave me consent.

In all honesty, if you don't judge someone by what they do, then what criteria do you use to judge a person?

This thread isn't about "Friday" it's about "My Moment". I was obviously only referring to that.

Oh ok. Being a bad role model for little girls is ok as long as you keep it to one song.

Oh you're right, he is ugly.

In all seriousness, I'm not protecting her as a person (I don't really care for her all that much, just found the song kind of catchy), I'm just trying to say it would be kind of crude to call her pathetic for what she puts out, because she's simply just a kid trying to have fun I suppose.
So in response to you, I have this!

That one just for you, since you like the tasteful lyrical choices in raps in the era of today.

Hate the song, but the lyrics and song are hardly suggestive of the same kind of "partying" everybody thinks about. 7:45 PM at night? Going to a party? Such a rebel!

SHE'S SOMEONE YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW. THERE ARE BILLIONS OF PEOPLE IN A WORSE SITUATION THAN HER THAT DESERVE YOUR SYMPATHY. THE FACT THAT SHE IS A GLUTTON FOR THIS SORT OF STUFF HINTS THAT SHE PROBABLY HAS SOME MASOCHISM FETISH OR A VERY SHORT TERM MEMORY.

... I know? That's why I'm saying it would be crude to call her pathetic because no one knows who she is.
You need to cool it man, blowing your gasket over an internet discussion on a Rebecca Black song is sad.

So theoretically speaking, she could actually be pathetic.

This is actually the most amusement I've had in a long time on this forum. When I make you backpedal back to start, I win. I stopped playing forum mafia so I need some alternative venue which I can logically attack suppositions.

I suppose? But what kind of person does it make me to assume people are pathetic without even knowing them...? If I knew enough about who she actually is on the internet, and something pathetic came up, that would be one step to her becoming pathetic in my eyes. But a girl just trying to have fun in her childhood by making silly internet songs about the weekend coming and rising to the top? Hardly pathetic.

I'm glad you were amused Smile Claiming you "won" an internet discussion really shows how awesome of a person you are! If I were you, I'd put that on my resume! :O

There's awfully some edgy ad-hominem attack mixed into that comment, which is ironic given that your previous concern of attacks of character. Or are you trying to equate my presumption with the one you are assigning to me as you are under the impression that both situations are similar.

Ah, the inevitable fallacy title. I was just trying to be witty, no need to get so serious about this Smile

Mfw you think a discussion on Rebecca Black can ever file under "serious." The fact that you keep on trying to discredit this by painting me as someone getting mad about it lost its appeal in post #28. You're getting as repetitious as the chorus line for Friday. GMS look man, I thought I could have some logical brew with you, but I guess I was looking for the wrong sort of tangent from the wrong kind of person in the wrong kind of topic.

Serious to an extent. I was trying to be mature about talking about her because it was a semi-serious discussion, I guess. It just seemed like you were getting too serious about it o.o If you weren't then I apologize for making it seem like I was painting you as something you weren't.

And you didn't post a face Sad

EDIT - Logical brews belong in the speakeasy though D:

Hothead DEATH TO AUTOTUNE ABUSE Hothead

Look if you can't sing without it, just go do something else, mkay?
I couldn't even hear what she was singing due all the autotune correction morphs... geez...

If you want to use autotune, use it the right way then, like the masters of autotune, Eiffel 65: Glitter
