The only way Rebecca could have redeemed herself with a music video is if she degraded herself in a manner similar to Kanye in his song Runaway. This is honestly just as pathetic as Friday.

You guys have to keep in mind that this is what girls her age SHOULD be singing about. She's not up there singing about boyfriends, cheating on guys, living the party life, etc. She's singing about wanting to make it and rising to the top.

It's better than half the s'hit they play on KIIS FM or those new era hip-hop/pop radio channels.

A couple rap songs amongst the hundreds that rap artists put out don't make up for the latter which all talk about sex, drugs, and clubs.
Even songs that sound like they'll be about that kind of thing aren't. Give me everything (tonight)? Should be about living everyday to the fullest, instead there are lyrics like:

Cuz to more and more to do bad before and for Prius
Desperate tonight
I can make you my queen
And make love to you endless

Mmm, way to turn a potential good lyrical choice into a stupid, cliche one.

The only rapper (that's mainstream of course) that I'm aware of rapping truly about life is Eminem. Yeah he raps about drugs, but about overcoming and moving on with your life after them. Whenever there's sex mentioned in his lyrics it's usually either one of his comical songs or just to add to the story he's telling. Just noticed the songs you mentioned were all Eminem songs, so further validates this point right here.

The girl is like 14 years old, you can hate the song, but don't hate HER for it because all she was probably trying to do was sing about something that means something to her.

This thread isn't about "Friday" it's about "My Moment". I was obviously only referring to that.

The song is candy fluff for Christ's sakes. She doesn't honestly talk about how pineappleed up she felt when other people commented on her video. She doesn't lash out at how judgmental society was in evaluating her video. She mentions it, but there is no anger, sadness, or anything really representing the sincere emotional carnage she probably felt during the experience.

Why would she? She probably knows Friday was a mistake, but once again keep in mind that she is 14 years old. She's not going to go on talk shows and interviews and talk to them about all the threats she got and what not. It probably scared the s'hit out of her, because in her head what she was doing was harmless (and really it was but LOLINTERNET)
