The fact that they're doing this without a purpose is sad. They could have used their abilities to stand for something, like an oppressed country. but nope. Just being idiots.
Waste of potential to the highest degree. Depressing.

And this is any different, how?
I do find it funny that we're all quick to badmouth Nexon for how bad they are at dealing with hacks, yet when hacks gets mentioned toward Nexon, everyone instantly jumps on the "Don't do this to Nexon" bandwagon.
Maybe it's just me, but maybe this wake-up call is just what Nexon needs in order to see how bad hacking is and how much of it is actually ruining their cash cow game.
Even then, you guys are putting too much worry into this. If you haven't realized, they've only literally taken stuff from companies / sites that have royally pissed them off. All the rest of them are just "No Names" to lulzsec and they DDoS to victory.

Split personality much?
What? It has nothing to do with defending Nexon, it has to do with defending everyone with a Nexon account and having no faith that Nexon could protect our personal data from such an attack. All of those companies you've pointed to are all getting sympathy, not being blamed by the majority of people. Nexon would be the same because being the victim of a terrorist attack outweighs their negligence in securing data, especially if much bigger companies couldn't do pomegranate about it either.
Your logic is absolutely retarded. These people won't just hack Nexon and take down the servers or something, they FARM AND RELEASE INFORMATION. Not wanting that to happen to EVERYONE HERE is not at all equivalent to defending Nexon's actions regarding anything else.

Look at the list of stuff they've hacked and look at how many of those have had information taken. You'll notice they only took stuff from companies that have royally pissed them off. All the rest were DDoS'd to victory.
You'd have to be really stupid to believe Lulzsec would actually take information from Nexon when they could have gotten WAY more from Eve Online's massive playerbase and all they've done to them was DDoS their login servers twice, nothing else.

There are people that live in the United States who criticize it badly for the way it is,that doesn't mean they want to see it burn in flames.

You'd have to be really stupid to instigate a group that specializes in trying to pineapple people over. What they've told the public is very limited, and they've already stated that they have plenty of information that they haven't released yet.

I don't know about that. I mean they're pretty confident to openly admit that they attacked the US Senate, CIA, and FBI related websites, and those are pretty massive deals.

Just because EVE online had enough security that DDOSing was the only thing they could do does not mean that they wouldn't have done more if they could've.
Trusting Nexon to have better/decent security is a proven failure.
It's highly likely they do have gaping security holes that an aggressive group could use to accomplish a lot nastier than just a DDoS and not wanting to find that out for sure isn't stupid, it's prudent.
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

They announce those attacks for publicity. Telling everyone they stole random peoples information isn't nearly as "impressive" as those attacks.

In the end, your goal in trying to punish Nexon through this process is like burning down the crops to punish the farmer. Yeah, he might not make any money but everyone else is now going to starve as a result. You're fucking over everyone here for a chance to hurt Nexon, and not enough very much.

Requests they did before were only taking down log in servers an such.

Hey, you never know. They could see one hell of a gaping hole in Nexon's security, exploit it, and royally screw everyone over for the lulz. You play with fire man, you're gonna get burned. I one for rather not get burned, hacked again, and have my information at the hands of these guys.

I got into about 3 PayPal accounts with these the other day. Didn't spend a dollar but did tell the owners to change their passwords and to not be idiots with their computer habits...
Facebook was on that list in a few hours and you couldn't get into any of the Facebook accounts very quickly 'cause they locked them all down when accessed from outside IPs.
