Archer Hero Confirmed? New Pirate and Resistance Chars?

Dark Link Wrote:Doesn't matter, it's still the same concept.
"Magic Warriors", or in better terms "Mystic Knights", imbues their weapons with the elemental powers to strengthen their attacks. Seems awfully familiar like a White Knight to me.
Oooooh. My bad, dude.
I didn't know you wielded the "DICTIONARY OF ABSOLUTE, YET ARBITRARY, DEFINITIONS OF CLASSES".
Do tell me you cleaned it off before reading through it because extracting it from your colon must have left a mess.

Honestly, I'm infinitely curious as to where exactly you are getting your definitions of "magic warriors" and "mystic knights", because Googling "magic warriors" gets me this (leading me to believe White Knights can negate Trap Cards) while "mystic knights" gets me this awesome example of what appears to be "Power Rangers Goes to the Renaissance Fair".

As a last resort, I tried to Google "define: magic warrior", but it just told me to go pineapple myself for being dumb enough to think that such a generic idea of a class could have such a specific definition.

Maybe the problem is that I'm not speaking your language.
Hm... who could I use as an example?...

OH! I KNOW!!

But, wait, he's not a really a magical warrior. I mean, magic warriors must just imbue their weapons with elemental powers.
They can't actually...
teleport,
cast spells, 2 3 4
create magical shields,
use magic staves/wands, 2 3 4 5 6 7
use non-elemental magical items, 2
and they certainly can't shoot magic right the hell out of their weapons.

Seriously, have fun with your limited definition of what a magic warrior can be. I'd rather dream of something a bit more fun.
The really funny thing is trying to comprehend how you got such a ridiculous view in the first place.

This isn't the first time you've equated White Knights to Red Mages, which is odd to me since, even as I've not played much Final Fantasy, I know that Red Mages don't imbue their weapons with elements; they shoot the elements into their enemies' pineappleing faces as spells.

EDIT:
Thought this and this might be relevant.
If nothing else, you'll be too distracted for a couple days to continue this dumbass argument.

Worthyness Wrote:Perhaps nexon could incorporate the mouse and make the cursor a crosshair. It would make aiming easier and add a new factor to the game. Multitasking FTW?

Though bossing might be problematic in such a situation...
As cool as that might be, don't expect a class to ever use such an interface.
I mean, it's possible, but they've been leaning towards making this a keyboard/joystick only game for quite a while.

But, again, it would be awesome.

Yet another good option.

Dude, the irony is so delicious. You're actually comparing LEGEND OF ZELDA to a "Magic Warrior", when you're no better than me. OH MY GOD. Keep on flexing that ego of yours, bro. Maybe one day you'll accept that you're not always right :|

Actually, you know what. After your so called "argument", did you even bother re-reading what you typed out? You DO realized you contradicted yourself a good 2-3 times, right? I'll let you think over it after you "ninja edit" your post to quantify your claim.

Quote:Mystic Knight (魔法剣士, Magic Fencer), also known as Sorcerer, Spellblade or Spell Fencer. Skilled in both magic and swordsmanship, they fuse both arts into Spellblade. They are also resistant to magic as a whole.

What do WKs do? Fuse fire, ice, lightning, and holy into their weapon.
My god, bro, it sounds just like a White Knight, but clearly my definition is totally wrong, because you said so. +1 rep for you.

I used to do that when I was younger.

Tbh i'm not at all impressed with the new Archer Legend if they use those weapons. Now, certainly those look like gimpy level 10 starter weapons, but if the appearance doesn't improve DRAMATICALLY then I can't see people being drawn to it. Even if it's OP, appearance plays a roll for new players deciding what class to play, most don't go looking through dpm charts.

I wish that was the case nowadays, but people are too bent on choosing the class that does the most damage. Que DBs, Mechs, Paladins (Due to LHC), and WH.

First of all, you clearly have no idea what the word 'irony' means.
Second of all, you clearly don't know what 'comparing' means.

Link is a warrior who uses magic. That makes him, by definition, a magical warrior.
I wasn't "comparing" pomegranate.

For the record though, I'm quite aware that I'm not always right. Are you aware that you not flawless?

So are White Knights Red Mages or Mystic Knights?

Either way, in both cases, the classes can also cast ranged spells of the same type which they can imbue into their weapons (which is how they imbue them in the first place).
What White Knights do in Maplestory is no different than what Thunder Breakers, Dawn Warriors, Aran, Dragon Knights, or Heroes can do.
All would qualify as Square Enix's Mystic Knights.

And, as I've said, Aran, Thunder Breakers, and Dawn Warriors actually would fit the "ranged spell" qualification as well.
White Knights don't.

I have no idea what the Angry Dome is, nor do I care.

False. Glad to have the fact that even SP is not immune to sheep-minding reconfirmed.

Clearly, the hive-mind has decided that it's much more likely that someone argue just to argue than to argue because they believe someone else is wrong.

Oh, I know what the word means, and if you knew what it meant, you should know EXACTLY why your original post is full of irony. I shouldn't have to explain it to you otherwise.

Quote:Second of all, you clearly don't know what 'comparing' means.

And you clearly don't know either Mr. "Let's compare a Red Mage vs Mystic Knight" even though you're denying it.

Quote:Link is a warrior who uses magic. That makes him, by definition, a magical warrior.

Definition? What definition? You already claimed that there was no such definition of what a "Magic Warrior" really is as stated by your above post. Now you're going to tell me that there actually IS a definition of "Magic Warrior"?

Quote:I wasn't "comparing" pomegranate.

You already compared and contrasted Red Mage vs Mystic Knight, too late for that.

Alright, so I'll admit I screwed up my definition on what a "Red Mage" is, that doesn't make the other point any less valid in where WKs are classified as "Mystic Knights", just like all the other classes you mentioned above.

Right...You DO realize that I'm far from the only one who believes so as well, right? Or are you just that close-minded?

I can see why the strategy that involves you saying nothing would be the easier one.

Dark Link Wrote:And you clearly don't know either Mr. "Let's compared a Red Mage vs Mystic Knight" even though you're denying it.
I see what you did there: you said what I said to you back to me!

I'm not denying anything. I basically said "See this apple? It is a fruit."

Dark Link Wrote:Definition? What definition? You already claimed that there was no such definition of what a "Magic Warrior" really is as stated by your above post. Now you're going to tell me that there actually IS a definition of "Magic Warrior"?
Magic Warrior = proper noun that would delineate a class
magical warrior = adjective describing pertaining to magic followed by a noun which it describes.

Is it really that hard to follow?

Dark Link Wrote:You already compared and contrasted Red Mage vs Mystic Knight, too late for that.

Let me draw a timeline for you.
11:21 - "Link is a magical warrior." - me
11:25 - "You're comparing Link to a 'Magic Warrior'." - you
11:46a - "I wasn't comparing anything." - me
11:46b - *compares Red Mage to Mystic Knight* -me
11:54 - "You already compared and contrasted Red Mage vs Mystic Knight." - you

Now, you may not be aware of this, but "was" (the word that forms the first half of the contraction "wasn't") is the past tense form of the word verb "be".
That means that the event to which I am referring occurred before the statement, not after.
So, yes, I had compared Red Mages and Mystic Knights by 11:54, but I had not before making the first statement I made at 11:46(a).

Dark Link Wrote:Alright, so I'll admit I screwed up my definition on what a "Red Mage" is, that doesn't make the other point any less valid in where WKs are classified as "Mystic Knights", just like all the other classes you mentioned above.
Actually, you screwed up both definitions.
As I said, "Mystic Knights", by definition, are not limited to casting spells on their weapons.
In fact, again by definition, they can't be limited to casting spells on their weapons.

At the end of the day though, it's irrelevant since this entire portion of the argument is just one user (you) trying to draw parallels between two different series.
As fun as that might be, it's far from definitive.

Dark Link Wrote:Right...You DO realize that I'm far from the only one who believes so as well, right? Or are you just that close-minded?
That was my point. Hence "sheep-mind".

I might be more inclined that you came to that conclusion of your own accord if not for you (as well as those who have said it previously) stating it in almost the precisely same manner.

Honestly though, either way, I'm rather apathetic.
If you have a problem with the way I post, you're better off passive aggressively giving me negative "reputation".
I'm under the impression that that's why that system exists. Either way, I find it to be absolutely cute.

While you may not share my sentiments, I shudder thinking of the day in which biased, subjective opinion is valued as fact.

Yeah, I fail to see how that distinction is either "trolling" or argument invalidating, but, once again:
"I can see why the strategy that involves you saying nothing would be the easier one."

What if people could scream "I WINZ!" in real life and walk away believing it?

I can see it now:

"This Icee doesn't say that it's cold on the cup! I drank some, had a brain freeze while I was driving and crashed my car! I'm SUING!"

Common sense really don't attach itself to some people.

I'm impressed at both your ability to see what appears to be a verbal conversation and your ability to make imperfect metaphors.

All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares.
Similarly, all "Magic Warriors" are magic users, but not all magic users are "Magic Warriors"

Neither does verb conjugation.

Oh... wait a tic.

Metaphors don't necessarily have to be perfect. It's the nature of the representation.

Not talking about all. Talking about the two/three being compared.

Whoa whoa whoa, why so mean? Who says I was talking about you when I said common sense doesn't attach itself to some people? Oh no, did you just assume? I never said your name. Notice how it was a different paragraph, a demonstration of a possible different line of thought.

I'm going to go ahead and agree with Dark Link here.

So here are a bunch of little snippets of information that may help the argument about White Knights/Paladins being "Mystic Knights."

As DL said, Mystic Knights are able to imbue their weapons with magic. You, Viaje, used Link's use of magical items (items imbued with magic) to try and give an example of what a Mystic Knight should be, and why White Knights don't fit the description.

Magical Sword

Fire Sword
Another Fire Sword

Ice Sword
Another Ice Sword

Lightning Sword
Another Lightning Sword

Holy Sword
Another Holy Sword

Holy Hammer

Viaje, you also used Link's spells as an example of what a Mystic Knight should be.

A Magical Shield

Magical Recovery

Magical Enhancement

And this is the last I'll post on the argument about whether White Knights are Mystic Knights.

Good day to you all. Biggrin

Edit: Just a disclaimer to this. I personally view Mystic Knights as Knights capable of using magic to enchant their weapons and armor to strengthen their fighting capabilities or to use the magical effects to their strategic advantage.
