Do we have to get rid of all our Maple Weapons too?

I spent a lot of time trying to get one of every weapon if I have to drop them all I'm going to be furious.

Hm, I don't think so. It would be pretty sad if you would have to do that. Maple Weapons are much more common than Chaos Scrolls for example. I think I've found about 100 weapons yet without finding a Chaos Scroll. The best scroll I've gotten is a Pole Arm Accuracy scroll.

I'd say just keep them.

Will not effect me much, but thats a stupid thing to make all chaos scrolls untradeable AND you have to NPC them? Waste of time for those that got them legitly from the event and before the event.

What about Maple weapons though? Those are obtained from the NPC. I'm very curious about what exactly they intend to do, if anything.

Interesting how they say to remember to clear ALL your accounts of exploited items. Doesn't that hint at an IP ban?

It sounds to me like they are including the pink scrolls and the Maple equips under the umbrella of "exploited items".

They haven't clarified much and I feel like I'm going to end up dropping every anniversary-related item I own out of sheer paranoia.

They claim they can tell "exploited" chaoses from legit. You only have to get rid of them if you know they're not legit.

Personally I doubt they can tell, unless they are now going over their database backups from last week and counting how many Chaos scrolls everyone had before this exploit began.

It does, or at least it hints that they will ban any account that belongs to the same "account family" (by IP) as a tainted one.

Probably another bluff. I doubt it would work on the hackers. But maybe they'll surprise me and actually ban the hackers and not just (some of) their storage mule accounts.

Yeah, the response is pretty vague at best. My suggestion is just get rid of all Chaos Scrolls on your account(s). Pinks, maple weapons, etc should be fine because I really doubt Nexon will go through all the hassle to check each character on everyone's account for something deemed inappropriate.

They treat it as Sunday because of the started time to initiate the SC. It explains why Eastern's time is dated for Monday (today).

This. I had five chaos scrolls that I was saving for future use that I've gotten from Captains before the event began. When the patch went live, I spent over sixteen cumulative hours hunting for maple weapons from Sage Cats to get chaos scrolls before this stupid hack was even made available - and now it's all for nothing. I was hoping to upgrade some of my gear when Chaos hit, too.

I am just going by the fact that they removed Chaos Scrolls from Inkie which makes them seem to care more about those.

Really an odd solution, I think most people will just dump their Chaos Scrolls whether legit from mob drop or not. It's too risky to take a chance even if you have a legit scroll.

Still have 40 or so pinks from a week ago and something like 20 pyrope Axes left collected over 2 weeks. Does this mean that no-one should buy anything with anniversary coins until the 16th?

Surely though those who were really in it for profit actually stowed scrolls away on an expendable mule account and would just take the chance that their account would be missed anyway.

All players that abused this exploit will be banned, however we understand that some players may have simply made a poor decision, so all players will be given until 5/15/2011 to voluntarily remove the exploited items from their accounts by selling them to an NPC for 0 mesos. If all exploited items are removed in time, you will not be banned (please note that you must remove the items from ALL of your accounts.) Once our investigation is complete and all applicable bans are issued, we will return the items that remain to normal. We hope that most players will do the right thing and remove the items if they know they are exploited.

Also I'm not even touching my chaos scrolls. If Nexon deems my chaos scrolls from years back as Ban Worthy, then so be it. The sooner I get banned, the sooner I can be rid of this game.

Most of those hackers made new accounts to abuse this glitch anyways. They risk nothing by not dumping their scrolls and check if Nexon is bluffing or not, which they have in the past and hackers have gotten away with it.
