Maplestory: Jump!
SwordStaker Wrote:You sorta proved it for me by showing the pirate0.o compare the picture, not the same. Theres no reason to get all defensive dude just saying if anything the right is a theif and the left is a pirate, the clothes styling match up as well.
Could you please make your words make sense?
If by "not the same" you mean "they're not the same picture" then, damn, I didn't realize that. Thanks for such an eye-opener.

I'm being "defensive" because you said something absurd.
The clothing style doesn't match up, because entire headgear is done in the style of the Brawler's headgear.

Fiel Wrote:The characters in the Jump image go according with how they're laid out in the WZ files:

Back right is a thief. Back left is a pirate.
0.o How are they laid out in the WZ files in a formation?
Like... where?

Thought its obvious that shes carrying a white fang [Image: knuckle012.png?1244000725] and theres no claw that looks like that and you can see that she has something on her other hand since the mage is partly blocking her other hand I can't say what she is for sure, but if you ask me I'll say pirate.
Thank yooooou!

CarrionCrow Wrote:You are reading far too much into the details of the different characters in the ensemble. To even begin to think that two Buccs would be featured just to show that they are excluding thieves from the revamp is beyond daft. And even if it will be the outcome, the picture is not evidence enough to even form the most basic of hypothesies. Most likely the artist or AD lack the deeper knowledge of classes and how they look and work.
While I agree that we're probably reading too far into it, I doubt that the AD made a mistake.
I'd imagine they're educated enough to know that there are five adventurers and what they are.
Also, for general ease-of-use, such assets are properly labeled for ease of navigation.

So it's not like they have '54325423.jpg' and have to guess what class it is meant to be.

Dark Link Wrote:Also there better freaking be a Thief and Pirate revamp. DBs need super nerf bat while Buccs need super buffs!

DB's are supposed to be overpowered, limited edition class and all. Pirate update is going to be making Pirates a limited edition class as well. The Black Magician will either kill or kidnap Kyrin and you will no longer be able to make new Pirates.

In the .wz files, all adventurer job IDs start with those numbers.

All Warriors: 1xx
All Mages: 2xx
All Bowmen: 3xx
All Thieves: 4xx
All Pirates: 5xx

The girls is a pirate i'm 100% SURE OF IT.
When pirates released in KMS on the site there was some banner on the left with that girl on it, I clicked on it and I came at some pirate shet from KMS didn't understand what there was written since it was korean but shes a pirate for sure.

Well, yeah, but that wasn't my question, was it?
Fiel said showed a pattern and said that's "how they're laid out in the WZ files".
I'm aware that the classes are enumerated, but a geometric shape does not that make.

... that's... not what he meant...

He meant they're laid out as they are in the WZ files as in they're not randomly placed. It goes 1 2 3 4 5 rather than 1 4 3 2 5 or something obscure like that.

Again, I'm aware that they're enumerated in the WZ files because to not be would be a ludicrous way to program things.
However, that does not reflect the layout in the image.

Ignoring the fact that the picture shows two 5's, the rest are only "in order" if you happen to count them in a certain way.
I can't read Korean, but, judging from the numbers, I'm going to say that the text at the top indicates that the warrior patch is in March (3), the Mage patch in April (4), and the Archer patch in May (5).
Meanwhile, the characters are not lined up with their patch, indicating that the pattern is not significant.

Even if it were, Korean is a left to right culture, so there's no reason to start at the right-most character when you count them.

What's more, if you're going to count them based on how the picture is laid out, the first thing to draw the viewer's eye is the mage, making the order of attention:
Code:
4   5
2       3
    1
or even
Code:
3   5
2       4
    1

My point simply is that trying to read into the picture too far is nonsensical.

Except.. the mage's ID doesn't start with 1.

You're the only one doing this.

Who said it did?
My 'graphs' show the order in which a person's eyes naturally perceive the characters.
Your brain isn't programmed to start looking at the warrior because you are not subconsciously aware that warriors are "#1" since that's an arbitrary number assigned in a single game.
Your brain, however, is programmed to navigate an image in a certain order.

In jest, as an example of why it's silly to do so.
I believe I've made it pretty clear that I don't believe there's any significant meaning to the layout of the promotional image.

Are you just glazing through my posts?

Also, "pirate gear" looks nothing like what she's wearing.

I think Razmos may be onto something here.

Nope, it looks like you're pretty worked up about it.

I'll just quote you again.

No they're not. They've done mistakes with class representation before.

FACT: Both characters in the back row are pirates, as proven by their equips as well as their presence in a former banner clearly showing their both pirates. (for some reason nexon changed the look on their official brawler art to have the knuckler only be on one hand)
FACT: It means absolutely nothing.
FACT: There's going to be a Warrior, Magician, and Bowman update.

Everything else regarding other classes as well as possible legends are speculation and conjecture. Deal with it.

I can imagine if I didn't knew anything about maplestory, I could think claws look like knuckles and they could be the same.

There's no need for anyone to panic. I'm sure if they're going through the trouble of completely revamping warriors that they will do the same for all the explorers.

The third quote has absolutely nothing to do with the first two quotes. The first to were part of a discussion over whether the top right character was meant to resemble a thief, not whether or not the formation and those included was significant.

I was under the impression that the majority of users on this forum actually read posts to which they replied and were quoting, but apparently not.

Where? Where and when have they made mistakes with class representation with an official image out of NxKR?

- I already know that both characters in the back row are pirates. That was not only my initial stance, but it was proven to be fact.
- I know it means absolutely nothing. I've said that. You quoted me saying that.
- No pomegranate.

Was your post anything other than an exercise in improperly contextualizing quotes and blatantly stated pre-established facts? I never speculated as to whether or not the back two characters held any meaning; the only thing I've argued is that both are, in fact, pirates.

But, once again, thank you so much for not paying attention so that I may, in what I'm sure is a futile effort, have to reclarify myself at least one more time.

Yes, both characters in the back are pirates. Is it intentional? Most likely not. Nexon probably hired someone through commission to make a web poster for them and that person has no idea what Maple Story plays like. Considering Nexon's error-spree, this shouldn't be ruled out for possibilities.

Out of every single post here, you're by far the only one adamant about the picture. It's unnecessary, and if you say it is then you should stop also.

The symbol on the "pirate's" hat actually is on a thief hat too, way before Pirates were released might I add..

[Image: 2295281765_4157d00e41.jpg] <-- Refer to this image, where it's most noteable..
Anyways alot of you guys always over-react to things like this. I wouldn't be surprised if someone thought Jump! standed for JapanMS undergoing masteria patch because that's how desperate some of you are for something totally farfetched and amazing. Just no, lol.

The one in the back left is definitely a pirate. So when you see this:

Code:
5   ???
3    2      1

What's your mind going to do to that one?

I remember a similar female thief wearing a Purple Osfa Set... anyone know how to find Nexon's old promo images? I have no idea where to look.

This one?

From here, but it's not from the main site, the image at least. I know I've seen it before somewhere.
