I Believe the purple chick is the thief.

Thiefs have lvl 80 armor called "pirate gear" Plus its a claw not so much a knuckle. NEXON has a strange way of presenting its claw using thief :f6:

Which is why it has the same skull-emblem as the for-sure pirate?
Also, "pirate gear" looks nothing like what she's wearing.

So.. when i look at this image, i don't see a thief on here at all...

I see a Mage, a Warrior and an Archer at the front (the first 3 patches) and then a male pirate and a female pirate, both using knuckles.

That female in the back with the knuckle-looking weapon is the classic characature of the thief class. Don't you remember the OLD MapleStory website with the four character classes and each of them had a different character represented in cartoon form? That girl in the purple represented the thief class.

I've seen that same girl countless times throughout these past years. lol

I wouldn't be surprised to be honest. A patch majorly focused on archers and mages is indeed what needs to happen. Both classes suck right now, though DoT is still glitched for GMS so mages in game aren't as strong as they should be.

The head-piece is certainly similar though (as is the hair color).
Still, none of their thief artwork has featured a skull emblem while it's a staple of their pirate artwork.
Also, the eye-colour and complexion of the character in the Jump logo is similar to that of the official Brawler artwork.

I think you might be reading too much into that picture. The same thing happened with the picture used to represent Aran when she was released (yes, I think Aran is a girl)

 Notice how it shows Aran in detail, but none of the others.

People tried using that image to predict what weapons/play styles would used for the other legends, but with the release of Evans it can be said that the picture wasn't entirely accurate because it did not have a dragon in it.

On a side note, while looking for that image of the legends all together, I found some other cool images. I think a change in my avatar is in order.

You sorta proved it for me by showing the pirate0.o compare the picture, not the same. Theres no reason to get all defensive dude just saying if anything the right is a theif and the left is a pirate, the clothes styling match up as well.

Thought its obvious that shes carrying a white fang and theres no claw that looks like that and you can see that she has something on her other hand since the mage is partly blocking her other hand I can't say what she is for sure, but if you ask me I'll say pirate.

Hmm, i thought she looked familiar, but still.. you'd think now that the pirate class has been released they would change her up slightly to look more like a thief does in game.

You are reading far too much into the details of the different characters in the ensemble. To even begin to think that two Buccs would be featured just to show that they are excluding thieves from the revamp is beyond daft. And even if it will be the outcome, the picture is not evidence enough to even form the most basic of hypothesies. Most likely the artist or AD lack the deeper knowledge of classes and how they look and work.
