PVP tiers?
#21
Takebacker Wrote:It's more than possible to activate energy at PvP. One mob of players, 8-12 hits, boom. Snatch makes it easier. The point was that orb is our strongest mob skill, not that it out performs because it's available 24/7. There is a step up from the mobbing ability buccaneers are realistically capable of because death resets energy and because of that our potential is completely dependent on the survivability of the player.

As far as PVP goes, it's not. The chances are that you won't either have enough time to have Energy Charge to fully charge or you won't run into a big enough group to charge it by the time you die and then it starts over. Dragon Strike, as far as PVP goes, is the best skill for a Viper to use.

You're talking realistically. I'm talking ideally. Dragon strike is the best skill, orb is the strongest skill. Why aren't you understanding that?

I said it's POSSIBLE to activate energy, not that IT'S GONNA HAPPEN CONSTANTLY AND YOU'LL ALWAYS HAVE IT ORB IS THE F'UCKING BEST OMFG.

I'm not saying that buccs suck all around or that they are terrible at PVP, just that they dont really have a skillset made for a fast paced environment...sure PVP is different, but with no mobility skills or attacks like triple throw that barely limit your movement at all, they're at a huge handicap. It's like saying marksman are gonna own at PVP with dragon's breath. Or FaP mages are going to clear the field with explosion, the fact that they can teleport in the middle doesnt make it good. I am waiting for more PVP balancing before I consider Bucc a contender. Considering I'm making another one once UA comes out I'm expecting alot of them, it's just for the time being they're at a disadvantage.

I think we should end this thread here lmao

Because I'm a realist. I'd rather discuss how things will play out than discussing only the best of the best scenarios.

There's no point in talking idealistically if it's more than likely not going to happen. Sure, it IS entirely possible to charge energy and use Energy Orb on players, but the chances are against you that you'll have enough time to pull that off before some other person happens to kill you. Even then... I think Dragon Strike would be better, merely because you have to be lucky enough for Energy Orb to bounce off of the players and connect to the next to compare with how you could do with Dragon Strike, depending on the distance between the players you're attacking.

FOR THAT ONE SITUATION. USING ORB IS AN IDEAL SITUATION.

@above: Keeping in mind that apparently pvp is 4 people max now, i severely doubt 3 other people could put on enough pressure to kill you in the time it's possible to charge energy and drain immediately. Charging energy would get harder but only double the hits in exchange for not being attacked by 6 other people.

Where has it been stated that PvP is only 4 people maximum now? According to Kyo, it's a four people requirement, meaning minimum and I only see that change for Ice Knight, unless I missed something.

It could have been for ice knight only but whereever i saw it from worded it very vaguely.

It seems clear to me :

Kyo Wrote:Ice Knight Mode now requires 4 players instead of 10. That is a great improvement. When I’m trying to play Ice Knight, a lot of patience is required because currently 10 players as a requirement is no good.

Problems from both anti buccs vs pro bucc arguements I'm seeing here.

First of all, there are no invincibility frames for buccaneers in PVP. I can indeed be hit when using Barrage or Demolition. So that analysis on Basil, completely fails.

However, it doesn't mean buccs are crap in PVP. On the contrary, I can easily win a couple hundred points ahead of all other players; and the reason is because Dragon Strike becomes completely rigged. Not only is it already extremely crazy with its spammability and range, but in PVP, you can use it in the air. I have yet to master Orb, so I can't really shed light on that.

While i did say that it was entirely subject to change because i can't play PvP in my version yet, B> proof you can be hit by a skill post-invincibility animation so i can better prepare myself for what PvP will be like. I haven't seen a video with real lagless playing with visible proof of invincibility for all skills (mostly because PvP in itself is a clusterf'uck to begin with; how you manage to see anything clearly is beyond me).

It makes his word trustworthy but proof is still proof. I want a lagless video clearly displaying new information. It's completely in the interest of creating a tier list. o.o

Any KMS corsair got some information on how some of the corsair skills work in PvP? For example hypnotize, ice splitter, blank shot, bullseye, octipi, gaviota. Assuming that you can't freeze and stun other people (seems obvious), I think the best strategy would be to remain shipless and try recoiling around with a combination of rapid fire, fire/ice, air strike and lay around octipi and gaviota's to ambush people and have the bullseyed person be the slowest of the group.
