PVP tiers? - EndlessAxis - 2011-02-26 So I don't know if theres enough info out regarding PVP but I was wondering if anyone has made a tier list for PVP. It certainly would play a role in deciding on what class to play in the future. from what I've heard DB's are OP. but that's about it. PVP tiers? - Takebacker - 2011-02-26 Inb4tiers4quiers Voting buccaneers for top tier though. I'm pretty confident i can tear the s'hit out of any class pending the tweaking they've been doing between release and now though. PVP tiers? - Takebacker - 2011-02-26 Because buccaneers suck or because it's me nominating? PVP tiers? - Link - 2011-02-26 Takebacker Wrote:Inb4tiers4quiers Do we have much proof of this, or are you just saying this out of an ego trip? Dual Blades are definitely top-tier. After that is probably any class that can spam attacks from far away. PVP tiers? - Liteness - 2011-02-26 NL are pretty good too, warriors are probably on the low, mages isn't great(unless the mg is fixed?) Edit: Vid: if you look closely, Demo does NOT provide invincible frames so while you're attacking some Db/NL/any other ranged char can and will snipe you. Monsters can hit you while you're demoing sometimes already. Edit: Aside from youtube crashing my entire f'ucking OS the first time i tried to watch that, i saw it later only to find out he was being hit by a DoT tick from DARK AURA. Video proves nothing. The only other time he uses demo he casted it after exploding arrows was, so obviously he would get hit. Video still proves nothing. >_> PVP tiers? - Liteness - 2011-02-26 Takebacker Wrote:Monsters can hit you while you're demoing sometimes already. i would think koreans are smart enough to try what you talked about. PVP tiers? - Takebacker - 2011-02-26 Liteness Wrote:i would think koreans are smart enough to try what you talked about. I really don't. When does using barr->demo completely for invincibility outside of PvP ever happen in korean videos? PVP tiers? - Liteness - 2011-02-26 Takebacker Wrote:I really don't. When does using barr->demo completely for invincibility outside of PvP ever happen in korean videos? who would do that outside of pvp when it lowers dps? PVP tiers? - Valon - 2011-02-26 The fact that buccs have to use a semi slow single hit low damage mob attack in PVP should be enough to explain why they're gonna suck. Barrage would leave you a sitting duck, and I hate to even think about demo. Shark blast does look decent for its range though, maybe consider UA? Barrage would leave you a sitting duck, and I hate to even think about demo. Shark blast does look decent for its range though, maybe consider UA? 1) Dragon strike is not our strongest mob attack. 2) How would you even be able to start measuring how strong it is when you can't see any numbers? 3) That "slow single hit low damage" mob attack is spammable and castable in the air with range that rivals classes with long range. The buccaneer in the video above was casting it and jumping down to hit while escaping to completely avoid damage. You're completely underestimating how strong it really is in both power and range. 4) Barrage wouldn't leave you a sitting duck as you can CSB/BSB immediately after for invincibility and if no one is within range for that, go for a snatch or something. PVP tiers? - Valon - 2011-02-26 explain to me how this is any better than a nightlord hopping around triple throwing? I have a buccaneer so I'm pretty aware of its abilities. I don't need to see damage lol. Atleast triple throw will do a massive amount of single target damage in less time. I hate NLs personally but its so very true *edit* "rivals" is a barely, TT is still farther PVP tiers? - Link - 2011-02-26 Takebacker Wrote:You are now arriving at my point, welcome! 1) Yes, it is. >_> 2) I don't think it really matters. 3) Dragon Strike isn't slow. It LOOKS slow, but it isn't slow. It also can't be used in the air -- you have to jump-cast it, as you know. 4) That wouldn't leave you with enough invulnerability frames NOR would it be efficient enough to put you high on the score board. It's not too good of an idea to use that combination. Just spam Dragon Strike and hope you land the final blow on everyone, earning you points. I hate NLs personally but its so very true Well sure a NL is awesome as long as it's opponents aren't doing anything. You have a buccaneer, so then you understand, right? You don't need to see damage to come to the conclusion that dragon strike is a weak skill in a PvP setting where damage formulas and skill %s are completely different from PvE? Wow, you must be some kind of god. >_> Any skill does a "massive amount of single target damage". That's the only real difference between any skill right? You do it in less time. So what? I'm invincible when i do it. ShiKage Wrote:1) Yes, it is. >_> 1) No, it isn't. Orb is stronger than dragon strike post-chaos on all targets. 2) How does it not? Seeing damage is central to his point that dragon strike is weak. 3) I know how fast dragon strike is, and apparently so does the other guy since he has a buccaneer. Dragon strike can be used in the air for PvP. Watch the video above very closely, and you'll see that it's true. Actually you don't even have to watch closely. You see him cast it in the air within the first 4 f'ucking seconds... 4) Yeah it would and why would efficiency matter? As long as you don't die you automatically (more or less) win. PVP tiers? - Imitazion - 2011-02-26 UA mages and flame wizards are pretty good. flame curtain rocks. UA F/P mages will tear it up with mist and curtain. other than that, NL's, 4th job bladers and strikers. they f'uck up everything. PVP tiers? - Link - 2011-02-26 Takebacker Wrote:Well sure a NL is awesome as long as it's opponents aren't doing anything. Orb isn't even optional half of the time, so it's not really comparable as far as normal usage goes. PVP tiers? - Takebacker - 2011-02-26 ShiKage Wrote:Orb isn't even optional half of the time, so it's not really comparable as far as normal usage goes. It's more than possible to activate energy at PvP. One mob of players, 8-12 hits, boom. Snatch makes it easier. The point was that orb is our strongest mob skill, not that it out performs because it's available 24/7. There is a step up from the mobbing ability buccaneers are realistically capable of because death resets energy and because of that our potential is completely dependent on the survivability of the player. |
