I searched the stickys and first page, couldn't find, so I ask now
Is the meso-cost of bandit/CB/Shadower the same (or higher) than Pre-BB ?
Not counting godly gear, but Pre-BB bandits had a huge pot cost and ME / MG just helped on that.
So, it's still the same cost as before ?
*I ask this question because I don't even have 1m funding on him.
**Already have him level 35, with MS Cape and Earring, don't wanna give up on him.

Pots drop like crazy nowadays, so you don't really have to worry about pot cost. Also, MG helps saving money. At least it was like that before BB... with the new pot prices, I don't know anymore.
I remember when blue pots were so fucking expensive (no funding) so I had to wait around until my mp bar was refilled from standing still (as a magician).

technically meso guard DOES drain mesos (i mean, that's what it does- it takes mesos to save you 50% of the damage), but it SAVES you money in the long run (as long as you loot some monies while training to cover your initial hits and then some). equips also drop like crazy fast, so you need not worry about not getting enough money to cover pot cost. Once you start using more efficient potions, you should be fine (a la the barbarian elixers or NLC % pots.)
In general, the line is traditionally expensive (don't know why, considering not a lot of people made them pre-BB). Due to the larger-than-normal bandwagon, all equips (and i mean ALL of them) have severely inflated (what used to cost maybe 25 mil has now gone up to 50mil+, etc.). Khanjar shields weren't worth beans pre-BB, but now they're worth a pretty penny (especially if they're potentialed). Hell dragon khanjars, which were already high cost, are reaching 500 mil clean.
In better news, you can pretty much get a Zakum helmet and MoN for a cheap price if you know the right people. And hunting for equips seems to be a lot easier due tohow potential works (of course, you have to be that level in order to hunt efficiently).
All in all, the money to fund a bandit has gone up immensely, but that shouldn't discourage you from making one. You can make perfectly unfunded characters and still do decently well. Hell if you think about it, any character you make now is infinitely better than the before-zakum era.

Worthyness, thanks for detailed info.
I'm not trying to get those 9 slots 10%'ed 3 lines 21% LUK stuff, nor a D-Khanjar.
I just want to play the game, but the issue is I don't want to waste dozens of amounts of mesos, because I have other 2 chars to train properly. The dit is more like a .. breaker of the grind ? something like that.
So yeah, the equips are not a problem. Hunting/Making them is not a issue at all. The problem I have is that I am afraid it blows me meso to the drain.

Meso Guard doesn't cost 1 meso for each point of damage blocked, it's always less than that. The actual number depends on your level of Meso Guard and Meso Mastery.

I think the biggest cost increase to CBs/ Shads post-BB is the need for summoning rocks.

Cut damage taken to 40%. 26% of that damage is taken out of mesos. 35% of the damage in this sequence is removed from the situation.

So, it is not that cost-wise anymore, right ? Not counting equips. drops probably are enough to make up of MG, and Pickpocket = ME.

For most shadowers and CBs, especially those of us that didn't have a character who needed rocks before, it's a decent cost. 100k per 1 hour of training.

I don't plan on using rocks until I max SP, or it has atleast a good timer. Already saves me some time. And also, I'm halfway for the Alcaster quest.
