Wow I'm terrible at counting votes. I had 3 of those matches wrong.

Heh I'll get to it tonight Xela. Been busy with family stuff and whatnot, but a little later I should be free.

East:
Match 1: Lia - Toki wo Kizamu Uta (Five years ago I may have vote for one of the other two, but I'm just not into metal anymore. Besides, the vocals in both of the other two were just... mehhhhh)
Match 2: Minus the Bear - Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse (The only Little Mermaid song I like at all is Under the Sea. I actually liked the techno song, but it couldn't stack up to the original sound and fun lyrics that Minus the Bear's song brought)
Match 3: DFO Soundtrack - Outskirts of Gent (I legitimately liked all of these songs. Flavor of the Weak, though, just struck me as too generic-sounding to really deserve my vote (even though it reminded me of SR-71, who I love). I never thought before listening that I'd vote against Santana, but the energy and mood of Outskirts of Gent really got me into the song, though it was short. Wish I could have voted all three through)
Match 4: FFX OST - To Zanarkand (Again I found myself liking all the songs, but the piano arrangement was just awesome. Another where I'd have liked to send all three through)

West:
Match 1: Black Tide - Warriors of Time (I realize this may make me look like a hypocrite, but I'm a sucker for good power metal even now, and the other two songs weren't impressive enough for me to pick one over this)
Match 2: Ronald Jenkees - Stay Crunchy (I despise the genre/sound of the first song, and as for Weird Al - it's an oldie but goodie, but my reasoning for picking Jenkees is similar to why I picked MtB above. Just too good not to vote for)
Match 3: Deadmau5 - Strobe (I liked the first song a lot, would have picked it if it weren't going up against my favorite song by one of my favorite techno artists. Alas. Last song didn't appeal to me much)
Match 4: Sanxion7 - EternuS (There was nothing inherently unlikable about the other songs, I just thought this one kicked lots of ass)

Well I finished the West matches. Now just to see how things turn out.

Damn man, this pomegranate is gonna be pretty heated, we've got really close matchups everywhere.

Assuming I didn't pineapple up the vote counts yet again, we have 2 ties at the moment. I am thus unsure what to do. I want to end this round shortly, but if we get no more voters, does anyone have any suggestions? I'm considering just flipping a coin on the ties and putting the loser of the toss into the loser's bracket, but I dunno. I DO know however that that's how I'll be resolving 2nd place ties for who goes into the loser's bracket. <_<

Perhaps ties should be broken by people who have voted for other ones in the bracket?

The obvious solution is to allow the people who voted for the 3rd place song to change their vote and be the tiebreakers.

We could do that. This means we need Shidoshi to revote for matches 1 and 4 in the east division, and DualReaver and Lyssa to revote in match 4 of the east division as well. Sooooooooo... Get those in and I'll end the round.

Okay, but what if Pie disagrees? If we're having the two people who voted for Gent revote, it's only fair if they both get the chance. Which means chance for re-tie. <_<

And of course, Pie left IRC 50 minutes ago so he's probably gone for the night.

Any suggestions for a course of action, people? I want to end this round and get on with it, but I don't want to be unfair here.

Holypie should still get a chance to re-tie it. Just wait for him, once the first round is over the other rounds can go quickly since everyone will have already heard the songs. It took quite a while to listen to all of them, especially with a couple 10-minute songs in the bunch.
