I liked SMG1, but it can't compare to the free roaming worlds in Super Mario 64, and even Sunshine.

Too many games these days are cutting back on the hub world and just making it level select. I may be among the very few, but I loved games with massive world maps and for the adventure type to have exploration within the hub world.

The secret levels and stars in each world were always amazing, plus the secret areas and stars just off the hub world. A lot more fun than level select.

Ah, I love this game. I got all 242 stars in the first one, and I'm on the 3rd or 4th galaxy (or whatever the things that have different levels in them are called) in this one?
One question though, in SMG2 do you unlock Luigi after getting all stars with Mario like the first one? And what is the point of choosing to play as Luigi in those levels where he appears at the beginning?

It's an option later on without needing to find them all. And I guess choosing to play with Luigi's just a fun little option for fans or people who feel playing with Mario's too easy (Luigi slides and runs out of air quicker when spinning under water, plus he jumps higher).

Bumping this to say...
I got to the final Galaxy. I'm on the last star. Entered it, saw my life bar. NO. pineapple that. I'll farm 99 lives and do this later because I know I'll need every single one of them.

Why would you need to farm lives? Getting a Game Over doesn't change anything.
