Pirates vs. Ninjas Mafia Gameplay Thread - Night 6

He does it, and usually survives a lot longer because of it. That's not so bad if he's a townie, but as a mafian, that's not a good idea.

I think I'll go with KajitiSouls and vote for him, though I'm not opposed to voting for someone else if there's a better chance of getting a mafian. Since at best it's a 50/50 coin flip since he acts the same whether he's a townie or mafian.

I'm not sure on what to do about Synth. Maybe he'll come out and defend himself, but then again, he never has before. :l

I wonder why he keeps signing up for these games if he never posts.

I think he might turn out to be mafia, considering his track record to end up as mafia and remain silent almost the entire game.

Well we could have chosen not to lynch anyone, and still can provided we tie up the votes. I dunno, it seems at some point the people who seem idle tend to be neutrals or mafians more often than not. It's not necessarily the best of choices, but I think it's better than random voting which ended up with Ray's death last time.

@Dual: If he actually makes a post on here, I'll be happy to withdraw my vote for him. If he's not going to help though, there's not much point to having him around, and if he happens to be a mafian, so much the better.

@Meta: I guess he likes playing mafia but has his own strategy maybe? I dunno, I guess once you decide not to say anything, it's easier to just never say anything so no one can get a read on what role you might be.

Something that could be teling is that LX would probably godkill or replace Synth if he were truly inactive. I don't know if he might wait another day to do it, but he probably wouldn't let an inactive stay in the game for more than 2 or 3 days. So, Synth either has a night action and has been sending it in, or is part of the mafia and has been active in their discussions. Considering last game, mafia seems likely, even though the odds might not favor that result. If he really isn't mafia though, and has been sending in a night action, he really should say something to prove he's not just ignoring the game. It's not that hard.

Well that's true, or he could have pmed Xela and told him that he'd appear to be inactive, but wasn't. I mean, so long as he lets Xela know he's not idle, he wouldn't get replaced I think. Though perhaps we should add that to the rules at some point, something to make sure everyone is active in the game thread, and anyone who isn't for x number of days will be replaced.

It's kind of silly for that kind of rule, isn't it? Everyone has their own playstyle, if he wants to stay quiet until he gets killed off that's his choice.

I suppose so, though it's not entirely different from the current rules we have up. Hmm, it might be interesting doing a mafian game where you had to post x amount, but were also limited to posting just x amount in a day. Though since that would be a detriment to townies, perhaps there'd be a limit on mafian communication as well, or a larger number of powerful roles on the town side. *Starts thinking of the possibilities* XP

Synthesist was a neutral two games ago. But I guess that's not the same as town. Still, I'm not willing to be quick to suspect him.

Staying quiet in person is acceptable, I don't see why it shouldn't be in forum mafia.
