McCain or Obama?

Everyone, tell me what voting booth you're planning to visit and when you're planning to visit it so I can plant a small time bomb there a get together. Everyone here explained their personal choice with such fine detail that I'm convinced that my original Presidential candidate was wrong all along. The immense logic and facts flowing from this thread are simply astounding and I am proud to have garnered so much un-biased factual knowledge from you glowing intellectuals.

Thank god.

John and Helen are too freaking common of names.

Why do you make political threads if half your comments on them are just about their names?

Obama.

Mccain would more than likely croak while in office, leaving us with a woman with 2 years of experience who is pro-life, homophobic, is married to a man in the oil business and is involved in a scandal involving her ex brother in law?

no thanks. plus he sucks imho.

Hey. I like the color black more than I like the color white. White reminds me of going to the dentist. So instead of voting for McCain who reminds me of the white tinted walls when I visited my dentist to get my wisdom tooth removed, I'm going to vote for Obama because he's black like the beautiful sky at midnight. Damn. That sounded so damn smart.

Schrodinger, you really do need to calm down. Expecting everyone to such a high degree of intellectual capacity for every single post on a Maplestory forum is simply unreasonable. Please try to stay on topic and try not to flame others for what you think is dumb logic even if the logic may be dumb. Learn to accept that others thoughts and opinions are different from yours, and please stay calm.

i can't vote for either ('cause i'm not an american citizen) but i like Obama's plan much better than McCain's.

what obama says is true, mccain is more of the same. even if i'm living in an island that more than half of the people i meet online do not know, bush's idiotic antics still affect the whole world.

my favorite George W. Bush quote: "is our children learning?"

Anyone high in society can get medical help if needed. Besides, his VP would be cool as the real president anyway.
2. Tax cuts to big (oil) companies.
Good, them having less money means they charge less.
3. Extended war in Iraq/Middle East.
No. Obama wanted it over March 08. He wants it over March 09. The amount of productivity in the past 5 months has pretty much DOUBLED the amount in the past 4-5 years.
4. Always jumps the gun and thinks war is the answer.
Like Iraq?
5. Voted for middle class tax raises.
Obama voted for ALL tax cuts. Middle > Middle + upper + lower.

Vote McCain! (and waits for more posts to respond to)

1. Medical help doesn't make you invincible. That's how people die from heart attacks everyday. Also, his VP is even more ridiculous than him. Talk about close-minded.
2. The price has more to do with where we get our oil, not how much the gov't charges them in taxes. Also, if we were using alternative fuel sources nobody should be bitching - it's all cheaper than gas.
3. What are you talking about? His platform has been opposition since Bush wanted to go in, go read the platform >_>; McCain has promised to stay in Iraq, Obama to withdraw. Either way, the entirety of troops can't be fully withdrawn until 2013.
4. Uh, yes, like Iraq.
5. Exactly. But to pay for the things we need, we eliminate bullshit programs from the federal budget to cover the tax cuts. Who likes to pay taxes anyway?

How about lowering Middle and under class taxes, and raising upper class's past what Bush lowered.
People save up for a decade to buy a house while corrupt politicians have over five, and plenty to spare. Tax the rich, feed the poor. <_<

Half? When did one post become half? :f6:

Quote:'I don't like names.' How does that get simpler?

You've already admitted you're uninformed about the election, and it clearly shows in most, if not all, of your political statements. What I don't understand is why you attempt to start and participate in intellectual discussions when you've already demonstrated that they are out of your league. I'm sure most would prefer no political debates taking place than debates being run by ill-informed middle-schoolers who (fortunately) cannot even vote in this election.

So I'm uninformed, when did starting discussions to fix that become a crime? <_<
Why are there so many hateful people here. It's like Basil... with grammar. D:

Not to start anything, but I believe SP is atleast ten times smarter than Basil will ever be.

But if I was old enough to vote, I'd go Obama. And don't assume that because I'm under 18 that I'm too stupid to be informed on the ideas of the candidates. I don't vote for people because I want a woman president or because I think their smile is pretty.

universal health care has two draw backs.
1. its socialism,down right and simple, .
Since when is Socialism a bad thing?Glitter

I have nothing more to say in this thread other than this;

Obama is a smooth talking Socialist.

Socialism sucks.

Ass-kissing other countries(which is why the majority of the rest of the world will say vote for Obama) sucks, I'm sorry to say so but sucking up to get what you want(or more like get pwnt in this case) is not the way to lead a country.

...?

Either way, all the presidential candidates suck this year, but I'll be voting for the one that has the highest chance to win over Obama. I've lived in socialist countries, and it is not fun regarding political and economical issues.

EDIT: For those that don't know, Socialism involves high taxes, high governmental control on many things where their hands don't belong, and very selective health care. There's other reasons as well but I'm not going into detail on those.

McCain cos my parents are republicans and they hate giving their money to taxes for all the welfare and medicare cases & stuff :<

So you're voting for McCain because you hate poor people, cripples and old people.
#56
@ ^ well, you're parents are going to wish they did support that stuff when they turn 70 and need medicare for insurance since the Social Security Admin won't be giving as much money as they use to.

And why do you follow your parents? Isn't that what America is about, having your own opinions?

And in general, my handicapped children thank you for helping them be able to have insurance because mine doesn't pay for everything they need. Remember, it's not all about "welfare".

My parents arent planning to turn 70. Both of their life insurance policies expire when they are 65, which gives them enough time to pay off both our houses and croak (so to speak), the rest is left to me and my siblings. They are both doctors & their jobs cover any insurance they have. Our family believes in "what's yours is yours, and what's mine is mine" :l
When you're rich and making loads of money you won't want democrats taking thousands of dollars in taxes away from you either D: Unless you're a good hearted person, which naturally means you don't live in New York (lol)

So they are killing themselves at 65? And because you are "rich" that makes you better than everyone else? I don't think so. If that's how you are growing up, you have ALOT to learn about this world. It's not all about rainbows and ponies. And trust me, when they stop working, the insurance goes away. But wait, they are rich and vote for McCain so they get whatever they want.

How about you be poor for a bit and see what it's like. It's not very fun. But wait, you get whatever you want. Why help the poor out a little. I mean pineapple, they are nothing but white trash hillbillies living on welfare right?

You know what's not fair? Is how because you are rich you get what you want. You know what sucks is when I have 2 handicapped children and can't get them what they need because I don't make enough or I'm not in the "correct tax bracket" or I'm not a doctor making a million fucking dollars. Oh wait, that won't happen because you don't live in the real world.

Kasey Wrote:When you're rich and making loads of money you won't want democrats taking thousands of dollars in taxes away from you either D:

Ok, but what about the opposite of that? The amount of people making little to no money greatly outnumbers those who're making "loads of money", as you say. Would you like them to be left to starve?

Edit: Dammit Katie. Stop posting what I'm posting except more thought out.

lol. I'm sorry. But this is a touchy subject for me. I come from a very wealthy family and both of my parents were let go of their 6 figure salary jobs and make ALOT less. I have alot going on with my children and that prevents me from supplying the things they need to lead a happy healthy life.
