Typhon Training
#41
I trained here for today's 2x event and got 32% in about an hour. It was really great. (note that I wasn't using a card so that'd be close to 16% at 1x) It's by far one of the best spots I've ever been able to train at.

I trained there last night and got 12-15%/hr. I just stand in one spot and spam eruption. It would be better to split the map with someone. The only problem with this map is getting knocked off and the 2:1 HP:MP usage.

Then would pizzas be a reasonable training pot to use here then?:f6:

I seem to use those a lot more than the barbarians (unless i have too much MP already). I don't even need to use my soceror elixirs... the barbarians and the socerors are more there for the trip to the JQ... I hate that walk Tongue

I still need a way to make money... I fail at that part. I lose at least 100k per round of 11 ish % an hour.

I'm not sure that you could split it well, since there's not really another good spot to stand at aside from the center. Anyway, whenever I started running low on Typhons I'd just go into the MTS (toss a few scrolls in there to make space while I'm at it) and then come out, and they'd all be drawn back from the bottom.

Is it some kind of reverse-aggro glitch?

lol, yea. Could these be maple's first smart monsters? Where when you are on a mass genocidal rage of their species they actually go away from you!

Reverse-aggro? :f6: That's interesting. No wonder the spawn dies unless I move.

I forgot all about the pizzas since I've been using barb and sorc combo for the last I-don't-know-how-many levels. Although, I tested it again last night and the ratio is more like 3:1.

You could share the map with those thieves that I always see, since all they want are the eggs up there, I assume.

More likely they just get stuck on the edge of the map, a la Goby Tongue

yeah, that's what happens, it just goes on at the bottom instead of the top here. It's especially a problem if you have to use bomb.

Is there an easier way to get to Typhons? cause Forgotten path is a pain in the ass. I have all the maps and junk (except the code piece, but i can get that later..), but there isn't a faster, easier way to the keep without using Forgotten path is there?

I waste MORE pots trying to get there than training... which shouldn't happen... I might make some cash if it weren't for the fricken path...

No, you must pass through forgotten path to get to the mountain.

I tried this place yesterday and it was fantastic... with strafe, it was 500+ exp/strafe, which is more than newties for me. To top it off, you're mostly using rain so it's even better. I even made 16 dark scrolls in under an hour, often getting 2 from 1 egg (although apparently they killed the drop rate in the server check )

After about 30 minutes, though, the exp really slowed down. When I eventually got blown off the map, I noticed that over half the spawn was stuck at the bottom of the map. Is there a good way to unstick them to keep the exp flowing?

edit: ... and I just saw John's post on page 1... Disregard my question. :-P

I think they did take away the insane drop rate of the eggs now with the Server check... Any way to make money now? xD

Indeed, if you can, get a lower leveled char (preferably ranged) who can kill both Leps between respawn ticks. You can train them up decently by repeating Fool's Gold, and you get a nice 1m/hour.

Unless their money drop was fixed too...

Even if they can use their lollipop (can they now?), it's not too big a problem for ranged chars, so it's good as long as the money drop stays.

I can hit all three Leprechauns on Creeping Evil without moving much at all.

They're arranged like this
o------------Xo-----o

Just stand where the X is and you can hit all three easily.

I'm both happy and sad that Baby Typhons were fixed.

All my drops I found will finally be worth something again, but at the same time I lost another money source. Boooo.

I don't think the Leps are fixed. Otherwise that would start popping up here (In the Pits, no doubt).

That's gonna be a pretty dangerous place to stand when they give them MP back.
