Item Rating(potential) and Enhancement(star) System

Darkhallows Wrote:Maybe an useless question but.

Are the self skills canceled by the usual ones ?

Example : i cast self SE then usual sharp eyes from an archer.
Am i getting both ?
Or (that's more what i think. But . . .) both works and add their own effects ?

Thanks for the answer.

Great guide too.

(Even if i don't really like the 'Question / Answer' Thing since it means the guide itself is not complete. But DW, great guide ^^)

Editing because i have another question : (not idiot that one Big Grin).

If the item already have a % stats (thanks to a 'nice' identifying), if i use an enhancement scroll, will these be able to go higher ?

thanks again.

Mini-buffs and normal buffs don't stack.

As far as I know, nothing can affect the potential bonuses, chaos included.

A few more useful tidbits to add:

The skills received through Potential System are every bit as good after Big Bang. The only difference is that Sharp Eyes adds to maximum critical damage.

Also, from what I'm seeing in the skill readouts, it would appear that all of the skills received from the Potential System are party skills and not just self-buffs.

So we can usually expect a =<10% chance of getting any one stat that we want? Great.

Also, for rare/unique items, do you get both bonuses at once? Adding from the fact that you can't choose which bonus you want to keep when you reset it, this is sounding costlier and costlier...

Oh wow, that's pretty cool.

Are the equip-skills party skills now, or post-big bang?

It's a party skill post-BB. I don't have a Maplestory Version pre-BB that has these skills, so I couldn't tell you. My gut reaction is that it's the same before and after.

Where do you see how many targets it hits? I can't find it in the original skills. Are you just basing the off the strings or the fact that they have affected animations? I don't really trust the strings =/

Affected animations.

Targets are handled on the server, asaik. Client checking for an affected animation is a good indicator of party skills.

I recall seeing equips that added % of your hp, is my mind messing with me? :O Cuz according to the guide the hp bonuses are never % based. Thanks.

Other things to note about self-skills
- Mystic Door, HB, Haste: Level 70+
- SE: Level 120+
I think this is just a requirement to give you the skill, and it can be on any level item still (and cast on party members at any level). But I'm not certain.

- Mystic Door, Haste: Epic
- SE, HB: Unique

So another way to prove that Unique items can get Epic bonuses would be to see Door/Haste on a Unique.

I feel like a huge tool now =[ I'am sorry any basil'ers reading this thead! (holy crap at 40 guests reading haha)

Man I got a question. Why does Basil and Sleepywood hate Southperry? and by extension Fiel? They gotta censor southperry on SW and basil? haha

What has Fiel or southperry done to them to make them hate us? =S I would really like to know

Also edited in the information stereo and fiel provided for the item skills!

Basil censors iirc because SP allows hacking discussion. SW censors SP because adura is a child.

Drama occured. Details on it aren't exactly important. Fiel left... established the land of the chinchillas. Certain people felt ridiculously threathened by the better place that was established and decided to censor it (That's an assumption of mine btw).

Citing the R&R on Basil made the mods go "Wait what, why are we filtering that site again? I'ma go talk to Mr B about this".

Really? Because it's extremely stupid that a thread that Mr.B front paged himself links directly to SP anyway, which he censored to begin with.

Hypocritical, i think so.

It was like two weeks ago, so I don't think anything got done. Apparently the mod registered on SP way back when. ID # 135 or something. I suck at names.
