Item Rating(potential) and Enhancement(star) System

Birdie Wrote:Is it known how the skills additions from potential scrolling will work?

I'm actually researching that now.

Remember when Fiel was doing some extracting, and he came across the Sharp Eyes, Haste, and Hyperbody skills and stuff that were under the Beginner skills? I think those might be the skills these items give. I'm looking through spadow's old entries and around Southperry for more confirmation.

Found the skill information here;

Quote:Haste
Level 1 - MP -50, For 200 seconds, Speed +20, Jump +10
Mystic Door
Level 1 - MP -120, Consume 2 magic rocks, magic door lasts 120 seconds
Sharp Eyes
Level 1 - MP -80, For 240 seconds, Critical Chance +10%, Damage +25%
Hyper Body
Level 1 - MP -80, For 240 seconds, Increase Max MP +40%, Increase max HP +40%

If someone can confirm that these are the skills one recieves from the gear, I'll edit this info in under the Q/A section and credit you.

All i remember is that door comes from identifying hats. HB probably comes from an overall, SE from a weapon, and haste from shoes.

Holy crap, I never knew there were Beginner skills hidden there. 8001-8003. That's freaking awesome.

Would Potential Scroll bonuses be in the WZ files anywhere, like how regular scrolls are? I can't find them. :[

I hope so! I'm dying to know what potential bonuses Shield's give and if Pendants can be potential scrolled.

Im gonna go ahead and edit in the beginner skill information. The skills that the equips give and the skills on the list line up, and they're beginner skills, so I think it's a safe assumption.

I'd like to add that those 800x skills also exist in other jobs. 800x, 1000800x, 2000800x, and 3000800x are all the IDs I can find with the same skills. Adventurer, Cygnus, Aran, Evan, and Resistance Beginner.

I think it's safe to say they're the bonus from scrolls.

Wait what? I'm banned from SW? Now that's news.

Regarding other equipment categories (including but not exclusive to Evan's Dragon Equipment and/or Mechanic's Robo), by looking at this thread, we can see that there are no option.Type variables dedicated to them, therefore it's conclusive that they only receive the global bonuses, if possible at all.
global bonuses Wrote:+str, +dex, +int, +luk, +maxHP, +maxMP, +acc, +eva, +%str, +%dex, +%int, +%luk, +%acc, +%eva

@ Fran: Yes, they are tradeable. Sorry for the late reply

shouri Wrote:btw, it's also known that lvl 121+ gear is

4% rare, 8% epic, 12% unique

(don't know the color though)
What do you mean you don't know the color? There are still only 3 qualities.

I think I remember SE coming from gloves. HB can also come from tops and bottoms too.

In regards to Maker, I think that the advance crystals will be less desirable because of the chance to blow up an item through Potential scrolling. All I know is that I'm going to be using basic crystals for potential scrolling since I expect to fail a ton of items.

Do want Sharp Eyes for my Evan, what are the chances to receive these bonuses from skills?

Can you use a potential scroll on ANY item? I want to know if i can possibly use this in tandem with non-kms items like the scarlion helm, which is a hell of a lot easier to get than either zakum helmet.

I would assume that we could use it on everything available regardless of the item as the scrolls work off of the level and not the specific item?

We can pray that it just goes off the level, but I wouldn't bet on it.

Very nice late night read, man. Gonna regret it later while I'm excercising, but worth it.

The beginner skills are the skills you can get from potential system. The data labels it explicitly as such.

What about equips that you get from NPC's (either from stores or quest rewards)?
Do they come unidentified? Can they become so?

I've been getting mixed signals about which equips can be scrolled with potential. The guide says ANY but other people have been saying that you can't use them on makered equips.

Anyone with KMS experience can tell what is the truth?

ALL equips can be identified once they have the unidentified tag. What you have heard regarding the maker system is this:

- Gear that drops from monsters has a chance at being unidentified.
- Your current gear will not be... you must use a scroll to make it unidentified (as stated in the guide)
- Gear that is made with the maker system will NOT have a chance at being unidentified. You must risk blowing it up with a scroll just as with your current gear. This is true even if you use maker after this patch hits. You will HAVE to use one of those scrolls. People are slightly mad since adv crystals cost a ton and they have to risk that going to waste.

Edit: lols... people are "made" scratch that E Rolleyes

There should be 100% scrolls that dont blow up your equips that you can " Make" that are untradeable and only work on Makered equips.

Sorry I was unclear. The disadvantage of Maker items is that there is no chance of them being auto-unidentified, like dropped items. The rest applies normally.
I also heard Shields, Pendants (and presumably other equip categories as well) can't be potentialed but eh, unconfirmed.

What is the drop frequency of these scrolls in KMS?
I realize it can be different in GMS, but I still would like an idea. Is this system, realistically, available to average players?
Or is this more like Chaos, White Scrolls, and 50% scrolls - only the really rich could afford to play with it and keep trying, retrying, and blowing up equips, until they get what they wanted?

So, the scrolls that drop from "all monsters" - do they drop as often as, say, colored magic powders, or as rarely as Chaos scrolls?

The ones that drop from "bosses" - does that include area bosses like the Dark Token event did, or is it only major bosses? Do major bosses drop more than one scroll each time?

Thanks ^^

There were just so many people with the wrong idea about what the potential system was that it bugged me. So I dedicated a few hours to doing some research. It's what I'm best at x3

@sapta
70% potential scrolls drop from all mobs. (no clue on the rate... you'll have to ask a KMSer... but they're apparently not that difficult to get your hands on.)

90% potential scrolls only drop from major bosses like zak. And interestingly enough, apparently Pap does NOT drop these (or so I remember from that one thread long ago. Anyone care to reconfirm this?)

Maybe an useless question but.

Are the self skills canceled by the usual ones ?

Example : i cast self SE then usual sharp eyes from an archer.
Am i getting both ?
Or (that's more what i think. But . . .) both works and add their own effects ?

Thanks for the answer.

Great guide too.

(Even if i don't really like the 'Question / Answer' Thing since it means the guide itself is not complete. But DW, great guide ^^)

Editing because i have another question : (not idiot that one Big Grin).

If the item already have a % stats (thanks to a 'nice' identifying), if i use an enhancement scroll, will these be able to go higher ?

thanks again.
