Chaos zakum/horntail

xNIxSader Wrote:For you maybe but for the people who do adjust there graphics and dc still its gey trust me. I HT a lot and lately Ive been dcing around 25% rate pretty bad considering if they did compatibilty I wouldn't DC. What do you do outside of game to your computer itself?

Changing your performance settings to 'Adjust for Best Performance" (It will make you computer look like it's from 1995, but you can change it back afterward) as well as closing down explorer.exe (most players do this anyways). If you are unsure how, sent me a PM and I can help you; I haven't heard of anyone having a problem after this is done before a run, and it long ago fixed my problems.

Sorry for going off topic, but yay for Chaos Zak/HT Biggrin

iFrancisco Wrote:Both Vista and Win7 work fine as long as you adjust your settings appropriately, both in game and on your computer itself. Regardless, I do agree that you shouldn't have to deal with those problems in the first place Tongue

It was okay back before the evan patch, switching graphics let you stay connected about 90% of the time, but for some reason after the evan patch, vista/win7 became horrible in regards to get booted out at bosses. On windows 7, maple crashes for me even at things like scarlion/targa and nibelung >_>

Would this include that stupid glitch where after killing any major boss, cc'ing kicks you off the server. And CBFrancisco I'd love a guide on how to do that =O.

One quick google search saves others the trouble of doing it for you. Searched: "how to adjust for best performance windows 7" (without quotes)

First link:

Scroll down to "Turn off Visual Effects"

You should try contacting Nexon or post up a bug report thread in Nexon forums.
MSEA got the DC problem completely fixed at v.85 Aran patch, I don't have any DC problems at Horntail with Windows Vista.

How does that help when it is an OS issue?

It doesn't help. I've logged a ticket about this quite a while ago. Nexon told me to run MS under XP compatibibilty mode. That's something that probably would've worked perfectly, except hackshield doesn't allow this >_>

Nexon should just release a vista + win7 compatible maplestory and be done with it. It's retarded to have ms only work under XP: winXP is fucking 7 seven years old and has been replaced a long time ago since it's outdated.

How will this affect the selling of regular zakum helms? Once people find a quick way to dispatch Chaos Zakum, won't the old helms be obsolete?

EDIT~ Nvm, Chaos zakum helm has a lvl requirement of 100 instead of 50. Lower lvled players can still use zakum helms.

i find XP better than vista. I only upgraded to win 7 because it was cheap (student discount from Microsoft = $40 win 7 Big Grin)

i've dc'd once so far with win 7 at zakum and that was on my cousin's NL
( i hadn't changed gaphics and the lightning DC'd me).

Wow, GMS got the same nasty bug that JMS got regarding Windows 7/Vista?

I wonder if KMS has the fix if MSEA has it..

i ALWAYS dc at zakum. hopefully they'll fix it this patch so we don't have to jump through hoops just to hopefully not dc.

I haven't been on any zakum runs lately so I don't know about that, but I have dced on every single Horntail since my old Marksman got deleted (before Evan patch) as soon as body is summoned and I've been having strange half a second lag spikes every few seconds, and it's annoying as pineapple. I've tried messing around with graphics, etc etc, doesn't work. I also dc at Nibelung, I assume it's the same issue.
The laptop I play on is several years old so I'm getting a new one soon. It's going to be windows 7 OS though, and all this negative feedback about windows 7 + maple is making me nervous...

Is there a chao ZJQ that is like 8x harder (as chao zakum has ~8x more total HP than the normal zakum) you have to do before you can fight chao Zakum? I hope not!!

I dont think the issue is windows 7. I dont dc and i run windows 7 on my comp. It might be your graphics card, nvidia graphics card cause the dc effect or low quality built in ones

I have an ATI HD 4870 and I crash at Zakum using Windows 7. So I don't think thats the problem.
