Cyanne Wrote:^Don't expect price spikes as massive as kMS's. In our server, we have these broken TCG items and tons of (stat)less classes running around. For example, facestompers mean that forging shoes won't be as popular. Flamekeeper cordon and stormcaster gloves reduce the need of gloves being forged. Also, you can't tell what new crap Nexon's gonna throw at us to make normal class equipment obsolete.
Not necessarily. Physical class shoes are basically obsolete, yes. Class gloves have never been a huge thing, but they will still be forged. Flamekeepers are far too rare and valuable to become the core glove. Mage gloves made with this skill could easily surpass them, through availability and base stats. The availability of high base stat overalls could be seriously tempting to many people. We may very well see a change in demand, barring statless uber whores (like dexless sins). The weapons, of course, will still cause many spikes.
It'll be interesting to see what happens. I doubt we'll react identically to KMS, but it could be very similar if not worse. GMS has terrible inflation and people readily able to create it.

If i used a dark/black crystal, could the outcome hypothetically be weapon attack or magic attack (cuase it's random)?
Then would it be possible, if you are extremely lucky, to make a weapon attack hat?

I'd like to know about some more specifics of the KMS economy. You mentioned Steel plates spiked to 4.5m each. Could you answer a few questions for me?
What about other KMS servers? What happened?
Did prices spike fast? Or over an x amount of time period?
Did price spikes on ores remain? Did the elevated prices become the new, accepted prices?
Which ores were affected the most? Steel, Diamond and Wisdom Crystal (among others) seem to be pretty likely candidates. What kind of price spikes did other ores receive?
Thanks for your time! 1. Don't know about other KMS servers. I'd imagine it wasn't as drastic because people would have been storing up ores and plates for years on those servers whereas Culverin only had about 4 months of build up.
2.They went down somewhat but the prices are still quite high. I think Culverin was hit harder by this than older servers.
3. Most ores (Garnets, etc.) that don't add good stats were barely affected at all. All the stat-ores went up a lot, as did dark/black and diamonds. Ores aren't particularly a common sight in Culverin shops anyway so it's hard to say. This one quest needed like 4 complete garnets and it took me weeks to even find those. things like diamonds were sold out fast. One interesting note is they mostly sold non-graded jewels as opposed to grading them themselves and hoping for high grade.

So the random thing only applies to a stat already existing then? Meaning you *could* get 5 STR on an overall with the perfect w/e crystal *too lazy to check* and then get another 5 STR from the black one, but you couldn't get something like INT if there was no INT to begin with?
I definitly am going to love this. If only we knew if Magatia is coming soon or not...I'm tempted to strip my sader almost completely and then hang onto the mesos for when this comes out, but eh...

No, I mean that Attack is only an option if it would have had attack on it anyway. That doesn't mean that defense or speed or jump aren't possible. It only has the possibility to add attack to weapons. It can still add anything that comes in that amount (for example a Black Crystal high grade could add 3 ACC, or a Dark Crystal high grade could add 5 int to an archer overall).
ok, let me try to explain it this way. Black Crystal can add ANY stat that the other jewels add. That means Speed, ACC, anything. HOWEVER, it does not mean you can add Attack to a hat. It may add Attack, but only if used on a weapon. Dark Crystals can add ANY stat that the other jewels add (INT/STR/DEX/LUK) and that's all.

Can I ask one thing? Can those stats stack in each forge?
Say for example, I have a +10 Dex level 50 overall, and I used 1 +5 Dex crystal, 1 +5 Str crystal and 1 +3 Jump gem, which make into a +15 Dex, + 5 Str and +3 Jump level 60 overall, right?
Then can I use another +5 Dex crystal, +5 Str crystal and +3 Jump gem to make a +20 Dex, +10 Str and +6 Jump level 70 overall?

Yeah, I'm just saying that anything could happen.

Okay, so attack is STRICTLY weapons and it is impossible to get it on anything else. That makes way more sense.
The way I read it, the ores that gave attack would only work on weapons but the black/dark were completely random(including attack).

Sorry for the bump but i've made a discovery while making monster crystals.
There is a small chance that you will make a monster crystal 1 grade higher than it usually should make. EG, if you are trying to made a Class A Mid Grade Monster Crystal (Lv 91-100 etc) it can come out as a Class C High Grade Monster Crystal
I have made many worthless Class C High grade crystals while trying to make the more valuable Class A Mid Grade crystals.
Also, its kinda suprising that all mid level crystals are the most expensive while all the low grade and high grade are nearly worthless. I have made nearly 600M in using Maker alone to make monster crystals (in JMS's current super inflated economy).
All good high grade Crystals net a ton of Meso also. I have sold two high grade wisdom crystals in the 1xx Million range this way, High Grade DEX crystals go for a whopping 300M each. Also, high grade diamonds seem to be rapidly decreasing in price (still 80M each though, so they're still good money.)
I have also made a 3 INT 72 atk Thorns in an attempt to make a godly nub weapon, but it broke on the 2nd 30% scroll I used. T_T.

:o. He already pointed that out lol:

More testing needs to be done in this department.

Nice stuff Isaac. Hearing about what this does to the economy makes me, like so many others, want to stockpile ores and crystals up the wazoo for appraisal. This thread is basically our prior knowledge at a good stock that some choose to invest in; of course that's a federal crime irl, but it's nice that here it's simply an advantage ;D.
A few questions though:
1. Doesn't this whole system fundamentally screw over lukless classes and others? For example, I'm planning on resetting to lukless, and thinking of my future equips (zhelm, YWG, YSS, Dark Starlight, Maple Shield, Cape, Earrings, Ele Wand, HT Pendant, etc.), NONE of those are the BASIC equips of a class at a certain level. In other words, this maker system only benefits those that use the base equips of a class, correct? And for those of us who may be lukless but have enough luk from pendant and zhelm to wear a lvl 38 robe and lvl 40 gloves, we're STILL screwed over because you can't make those level of equips?
2. This is kind of a question off of number 1, but in the event everything I asked in the first question is true, what effects did all of that information have on jMS? Are all the old lukless Magicians now raising their luk ever so much so they can be wearing forged level 50 overalls or whatnot they can add +15 INT to the overall(in other words people choosing to raise luk by 10 to add 15 INT to an equip and get a net matk gain)? This kind of planning is stuff I'd like to be doing soon.
3. Another similar question, in a scenario-style way: so Maple Magician Shields have +2 INT and 10 slots, meaning the best shield possible is 22/30. However, can this skill be used to forge, say, a clean Esther Shield with +15 INT, so you would have a +17 INT 7 slot Esther? Then that Esther Shield's best possible stats become 31/21, an equip equal in power but better for MP gain in the long run, plus more readily available than MMShields(presumably, since you could constantly forge them rather than have to wai for events)? So in the end, in other words, are people ditching Maple Shields and shields with 10 slots for godly clean Esthers, etc.?
I think in the end my three questions can be summed up like this: What does the Maker skill and everything it entails mean for people in gMS NOW, who want to plan ahead for the future? Should we ignore buying that 12/11 YWG in the FM if in 2 months we can forge 18int clean Dark Pennances? Should we be ignoring the claims of lukless > all, dexless > all, etc., and be raising luk/dex/etc stats ever so much in order to get more benefits from this skill? What do WE have to change, in other words, in order to better prepare ourselves for utilizing the most advantageous benefits of this skill, other than stockpiling items?
Thanks for the help!
