Quick Question About Weapon Speed And Attack

What attack Red Katana will I need to out-DPS a 102 attack Devil's Sunrise?

I thought you guys could calculate weapon speed vs weapon attack on certain weapons, such as swords, without knowing gear and stuff.

The other equips are :

2/2/2/2 Muey Thai headband
1/1/1/1 Gaga Glasses
1/1/1/1 Medal
3 STR 2 Weapon Attack Level 60 Gloves
4 DEX 8 STR earrings
2 STR 3 DEX shoes
3% DEX Cape

Take off all your gear except the sword and screenshot again. And do the same with a 1H Sword.

What are the stats on the sword? Any str or is it just 101 attack?

It's just 102 attack.

Would a Maple Sword work with the one-handed sword part? I haven't made the Red Katana yet. xP

Oh, yeah!! I completely forgot! There's also +16 weapon attack from my pets, so make sure you include those when calculating.

Make sure you read the edits I made to the previous post as well. They're a bit important. lol

For your first question, regardless of the damage formula, it depends on your total attack which weapon is better, not the individual attacks of the weapons. For example, you had 1 billion attack, the katana is obviously better, but if you had 0 attack without your weapon on and the devil's sunrise had 20 attack more than the katana, then the devil's sunrise would obviously better, in terms of damage rate on 2.1bil hp snail of course. In reality, if you can consistently kill a target monster in x number of hits with both weapons, the faster one would be better, but if using the slower one increases your consistency significantly, then that would be better.

My best guess for formulas based on only three screenshots:

2h sword:
MAX = 1.28*(4 STR + DEX) * (Weapon Attack/100)
MIN = (0.20 + mastery %) * MAX

1h sword:
MAX = 1.20*(4 STR + DEX) * (Weapon Attack/100)
MIN = (0.20 + mastery %) * MAX

With the 102 attack sword, I have 132 total weapon attack. With the 47 attack Maple Sword, I have 77 total weapon attack. (this is with all of my gear equipped)

The reason why the 2nd one was 130 was because 2 weapon attack that was subtracted came off when I took off my glove (yeah, it's a pretty sh'itty glove. =/).

With the 102 attack sword, I have 132 total weapon attack. With the 47 attack Maple Sword, I have 77 total weapon attack. (this is with all of my gear equipped)

Get a screen shot of just the swords and the +3% dex cape.

Otherwise, we're seeing 2H swords be about 1.06x stronger. We're looking towards a 95ish attack Red Katana while you're using Rage I believe.

Devil's Sunrise:
Expected Rage Range: 2467~3524
Average Brandish Damage: 17134

95WA Red Katana
Expected Rage Range: 2205~3150
Average Brandish Damage: 15315

To match damage per hit, and not just DPS, you need a 113 RK.

Dang... 95. The Red Katana I made with Maker turned out 3 attack below average (wtp?). =/

What if I have an 89 attack Red Katana that also has a +4% Total Damage bonus?

Easiest way to check that is to multiply your total w.atk by 1.04. Then subtract off the rest of your gear again.

If the Katana ends up with at least 95 atk remaining it's better. With 89 atk alone it isn't.

I have no idea how it works with the +4% total damage, though. O_o Also, it's 91 weapon attack now (yellow potential scroll). Should I keep trying? =/
