I don't like them removing req exp either, back in time some people had to burn alot of time to even get lvl100... and now you can get lvl200 EASILY

But if you take a closer look now it's harder to earn exp. You'll rarely 1hko Oblivion 4 or whatever you were training on. I think it's fair game. [/color]

I think it'll just be a more natural progression for levels instead the insanity we have now.

I agree. I think all the classes will equally level at the same rate now (if they're at the same levels).

I don't really have anything to say about any of the skill changes until we know how damage ranges will be calculated and how criticals will work. It's impossible to tell how skills will compare without knowing what they're based off of, it's kind of pointless getting dramatic over the skill changes should they be used under the current system, since that obviously won't be the case.

Yeah, there's the two classes I've spent the most effort on nerfed to hell. Thanks a lot Nexon. I should probably quit.

And to those expecting free SP resets: Not likely, Nexon is rarely generous, and has little regard for existing players.

Highly doubt they can remove skills and not give SP resets though.

All I want is the game to be FUN. If this accomplishes it, I'll love it.

Even though, make Mushroom castle open to everyone, or make monster book have the cards shared.

So, even though the new Energy Charge is maxed at level 20, mine will forever be level 40?

Well
Personally, coming from a kMSer, I love the new EXP curve.
It's about time we got it, but it is a bit big of a curve.

However, I'm reserved on the mob changes. I would have prefered to jut get areas that would help spread people out of magatia for there whole 2nd job life.
The Skill changes, I don't know what really happened but these new skill don't really seem that good.

Spell mastery sounds ok, but the fact Battle Mages get spell and staff mastery and then Evans get Spell and Magic mastery is a little awkward to me.

Fucking loving the changes to Magician class though, I guess FP will go back to being the fastest training magician class?

I like the changes, but they should've just released a new game as Maple Story 2 rather than patching all this crap.

No more leeching is enough to make it amazing for me.

Everything else is just a big plus.

Misting has its limits, sure, it's good when your say level 80 killing monsters that would normally 100000 f'ucking hits to kill for experience, but as you get higher and higher level the effects of misting start to lower and get closer exp gain compared to other methods of training, especially when you can start killing monsters in a few hits, most classes can easily surpass misting experience gain during 4th job. Especially when we bring in party training which rather limits misting potential. Besides, if Skeles are 140, Misting f/p's are already f'ucked, lmfao.

Evans would be the fastest Magician, probably followed by BattleMage, then I/L Arch, but it's all a wait and see thing as we discover the new attack formula's.

Too early to say. If the output of this huge overhaul finally makes some headway into fixing this undeniably broken game then I'm all for it. Magician damage formula revamp was required beyond belief.

I think its too early to tell yet.

I think it is looking promising though, especially the lowered EXP to level.

For those who mentioned the aran nerf... from the aran/evan thread:

shouri Wrote:Current aran crit:

stacks 6 times +10% chance +10% damage. (And we have a 10% base crit on top of it)

So in the end we get:

70% chance of +60% damage.

New aran crit:

stacks 10 times +3% chance +3% damage.

with 10 base crit we get:

40% chance of +30% damage.

So comparing damages before and after

old: .70*1.6 + .30*1 = 142% damage on average
new: .40*1.3 + .60*1= 112% damage on average

112/142=78.8%

We're roughly 80% as strong as we were before.

But with the potential system we'll definitely be making up for this and more.

^this doesn't take into account the 10% boost to overswing, but that difference is just a bit negligible for these calculations

Don't forget intrinsic 5% crit for +50% damage. Or at least that's what it's shaping up to look like.

OH YEAH. That'll boost arans damage quite nicely if it's additive to the combo crit and not done separately. The 5% chance +50% damage would make it:

old: .70*1.6 + .30*1 = 142% damage on average
new: .45*1.8 + .55*1= 136% damage on average

So our damage would not suffer that much at all 0.o

That is... however.... if aran do get the +5%/+50% base and if it's additive not a separate calc.

Over half my SP (about 250/400) are in skills that no longer exist...

If they don't reset my skills I'm kinda permanently screwed and will have to start over. They might as well just wipe the characters if they don't give an SP reset.
