You can watch the Funimation version, since they did a better job than 4Kids, but for me? I prefer the original Japanese version.

I knew about the cigarette thing. People try too hard to censor stuff. Ugh. As others would have said, they'd rather see stuff on Adult Swim for less censoring, as opposed to censoring everywhere.

hey, its not as bad as when comedy central censored an episode of south park that featured muhammed, and ruined a good portion of the moral-of-the-story speech kyle made at the end.

Never had the time to get into One Piece myself, but for sure not surprised considering its 4kids.

Speaking of that, 4Kids thinks rice balls are for weeaboos. So they decided to edit out the rice balls with other foods like sandwitches, cookies, etc.

There's a difference between censoring and just fucking with the episode just so you can say "I did something, where's my paycheck?"

I know I have a folder with more edits somewhere. Stupid crap like text being removed (Stuff that's in plain English. WE CAN'T INTRODUCE OUR CHILDREN TO READING!), colors being swapped (not skin tones, just colors of background buildings or something), "sparkly eyes" being tuned down (TOO MUCH JAPANESE!), or gibberish text being changed into scribbles (what's the point?)

Seriously. I think the editing staff gets paid depending on how many things they edit out, so they just mess around with stupid crap just for money. I'll look for that folder to show you guys the examples I'm talking about.

...And I thought the English version was terrible. My bad.

I love the idea they have that a supersoaker is sufficient for a gun. Most of the really bad guys have devilfruit powers that renders regular guns useless. But they lose their powers in the sea or when exposed to seastone. Surely shooting water at them must have a similar effect. IT'S GENIUS!

Usually, I'm not one to judge animes. For the most part, I can admit, I don't like to watch them, but I can also see how the different stories could be desirable. I can even see how some people like Naruto (gasp!). However, I have failed to see what people see in One Piece.
