Get a thief, don't buy any gear, stick to your first set of equips and buy only subis and icies once you get to NLC. That's enough to get you through about 50 levels. Do you have a thief? Obviously not.

It's....it's like you completely skimmed through what PonyArcade was saying. I guess this isn't the first time.

lol i didn't respond to u because I don't see any point in your post and u seem to be raging at every post I make so i don't want to start a flame war here but since u asked for it

Cynic Wrote:Post on NEXON's official forum? SURELY YOU JEST. You know I can't even post there because of some magical error! But, knowing you, it's probably MY FAULT right? You think you know everything don't you?

Yes it is your fault for posting stuff against their rules on THEIR forum and get banned and no i don't know everything

Rayquaza2233 Wrote:Once again, misunderstanding posts. He said thieves are cheap in the early levels since damage doesn't really matter then, and he said the only class that really *needs* mesos is a dexless warrior. He didn't say "if u poor go maek dexlez warior lololz"

Why doesn't dmg matter early game?

Dexless warrior is just a sub branch of warrior and non dexless warrior is still quite strong early game assume that you didn't follow a high dex build, even though all warriors should be dexless if possible to avoid latter AP resets

The reason thieves cost a ton is because their scrolls are still the most expensive scrolls in game, Sins need stars in addition to their already expensive gears and dit needs atk shields

FYI my main is 13x dexless NL and i funded my everything in this game for it...if i didn't fund it it would be weak as hell compared to other class not to mention NL's nature of lack of early AOE

Show me what I posted that was against the rules =]

Also, flaming? I was just asking you to post the names of the people who were crying about being forced to buy the Evan Skillbooks. I don't think that answering questions would be considered flaming. You realize that wouldn't make sense unless you were planning to throw around insulting rhetoric without having any sort of logical counter-argument.

Cyanne Wrote:Needing to use nx does not mean you have to pay real money for it. The MTS makes mesos and nx just different forms of virtual currency, this is basically the same as paying a dark crystal to advance to 3rd job, paying 10mil to advance to 4th job, or paying any amount of money for any 4th job mastery book.

thats true... and by selling more stuff for nx who says nexon will make more money... it doesnt make ppl run to the stor and buy an nx card since they can mts items for nx.

Since i know people will defend the new direction by mentioning the MTS...The whole MTS for NX thing is a compromise, not a blessing to the common free playing folk.

Free players can spend time by farming to make the MTS cash to buy what they need from CS. They win.

Cash spending players gain the advantage of being able to buy hax equips to save time from making their own. They win.

Nexon gives the cashing players reason to spend more on NX than they already do with CS alone with the MTS, They freaking win big. So the whole "free players should be thankful" is crap, they just add items to MTS that cash players want so NEXON can profit. They don't need any thanks.

That said: I agree with the posters who say that if this was just restricted to say: some OP attack skill totally unrelated to what the class would need to survive decently. But this is magic guard. As in, if every cash player stop spending money on MTS or got banned for something. The free community is left with an unplayable class past level 80 or so.

I can accept "Free to play yet Pay to Own". But when it's Free Yet Unplayable, that means Nexon's violated its main draw to the game by making certain content P2P. Which is even more unfair than Pay to Own in that regard. MTS doesn't make it free. MTS makes it Sponsored to Play. Thank the cash player who was lazy enough to buy your item (like me at times), not Nexon.

Regarding dual blade: if Dual Blade turns out to have a skill set that doesn't require cash that leaves it equal to Shadowers; as in, you could grind to 200 without feeling gimped due to lack of a mob skill or movement skill while the skills that make Shadowers obsolete needed Mastery books from CS. Then would i find this new direction fairly acceptable.

No way early game ends at 3rd job advancement. Are we playing the same game? Because at most, I would think that early game ends at around level 35 ~ 40 at most, and that's a high number for "early game". Which is around the levels where one gets their first Maple weapons, starts to make a steady income, gets past Masteries and leveling starts slowing down.

Most people don't even get to their 3rd job, so, I doubt that early game lasts all the way to level 70.

You forget that the world revolves around King. Therefore, since he was able to get to level 70 so will everyone else who plays Maple before they quit.

Being a complete noob, on my AM, I really leveled up to 85 on Retz alone, and I really got sick of the 70- levels for jobs. I think that this game doesn't truly shine until 70+, and then it fades away in the late 120's(because Nexon just seems to refuse to make new content towards that level range, time temple barely covers much).

Maybe it's not anymore, with all the new awesome low level content they've been making, but I feel that early-game does end after level 70, I would have to agree with King there. I never really experienced just how great maple really was until I threw down the gauntlent and tried to level past level 50's.

I think you are misinterpreting.

He made a claim that damage matters at "early game" not when the game "shines". I agree with you completely, the game does start to shine once you hit 3rd job, BUT that does not change the fact that damage does NOT matter in early game. Why do I say that?

You can get from level 1~20 with Episode 1 quests alone. By level 20, everyone would most likely be 1 shotting Zombie Mushrooms, Scorpions, or doing KPQ. At level 30 you can continue to grind on monsters or get into CPQ, where damage doesn't really matter since it requires a party. Even when I used an F/P Mage, I was able to get into parties and speedily rush to 40. From 40, you can do PyPQ til 50. Does damage matter in there? No, because all monsters die in 1 hit. Once you hit 50 that might be when damage starts to matter, but regardless of 1hko or 2hko, the difference in time is barely noticable.

He also stated that unfunded sins are not strong. The point of a statless was mainly to SAVE money until people started getting WGs, bathrobes, FS, PACs and unfunded became the norm. Mages, warriors, and sins can BE STRONG without needing to invest TOO much money. Obviously there are damage whores who want the best of the best, but an unfunded statless sin still outdamages many other funded classes.

King Wrote:FYI my main is 13x dexless NL and i funded my everything in this game for it...if i didn't fund it it would be weak as hell compared to other class not to mention NL's nature of lack of early AOE

Here he is saying they are "weak as hell" if they were unfunded which is definitely NOT TRUE. Especially with TT + Venom at level 13X. We all don't have the same standard for what is "weak" and "strong", but to claim that damage truly matters early game where you would already be 1 shotting things unfunded, just isn't true.

Also, at lower levels, you get Episode 1 Hat, Mushking Gloves (1 WA/2 MA 5 slots), from Kerning Square you get +1 all stat earrings (4 slots), you can also get the Altair Earrings, glasses from LudiPQ, and pendant from CPQ. You can also get a decent weapon and armor from Mushroom Kingdom and a White Belt from Dojo around level 40. All of these are what "typical" players wear past level 50 anyways. You don't need to be funded to buy any of these items, as long as you know what you're doing and have patience.

Oh, I thought he just said this game doesn't really consider you as a long-term player until 70+.

Then yeah, I agree that unfunded classes are strong as well.

King seems to forget some important facts:
1 - MTS resolves around NX that people put in in order to keep things in circulation.

Back when Scania first started, in the good old ancient days, a 12 def panlid worth 50K whereas in Beta, it worths 1.2mil. Why is that? Because there wasnt that much meso circulated around the economy then. If people stop buying NX cards, the MTS economy would goes into widthdrawal. NX will get chewed up by tax.

2 - Nexon's motto was free to play. With this, Nexon has shown their two-faces greed.

You know, biting the hand that feeds you isnt a smart idea in any situation. Nexon has bitten quite a few. And just because you havent got falsely banned by Nexon doesnt mean it never happened. I have known a few situations, including an AM friend who grinded at newtie during the Bigfoot incident got banned because he "abused the glitch".

You're looking simply at the cost of equips and scrolls, not their practical application. You do not *need* any of that to be strong at all, any ore than any other class needs expensive items to be strong. You don't need ilbis, you don't need a strong claw or dagger, you don't need a ton of LUK gear and you don't need an attack shield. You can kill things without any of those items.

A completely unfunded dexless sin throwing icys and using a below average 100%'ed maple claw is easily stronger than any other class of a similar level with the same amount of funding put in, and will be able to equal another class that has had more funding put into it. Same deal with a dit though a little less so. That is not weak and that is not expensive.

A gunslinger might be able to get a +5 30%'d gun for the same price as a below average 100%'d maple claw, but the sin with the maple claw will still be doing more damage and leveling faster.

Just because someone else has to pay money to circulate nx in the MTS doesn't mean you're paying any. Nexon profits, and that's a good thing because it keeps the game free. Do a few scroll quests, sweep an area boss a couple of times, and there's your magic guard book.

The problem is not Nexon earning a profit or even these Evan books since we have been promised those as Free to Play content in the near future. When that happens, there really is no trouble with allowing the books in the cash shop to co-exist with the books that can be obtained without a NX transaction. The problem is the fear that has stemmed from this Evan fiasco that Nexon will implement something like this on a more permanent basis for future content such as Dual Blade and violate some players' expectations of a Free to Play game.
