new KMST gear has percentage based ACC and AVOID

It actually looks like I'll get more accuracy now. By my calculations, I'll have 179 accuracy now. Hell yes!

I was just reading a thread somewhere about a week ago, I just can't find where was it...

But a guy was mentioning that low-dex build characters would be better off at capping their DEX at 60, rather than say, 30, 40, 50, 70...

The reasoning behind this was that Maple Warrior gives a better % boost when DEX is at 60 than in other numbers. Either 60 DEX or 120 DEX get the multiplier. That's the point where you get a nice damage boost.

Anyone remember what I'm talking about? I was wondering if it should be considered, since my Bucc has 50 base DEX, and then seeing this patch.

Cancambo Wrote:Seeing as my equips haven't really changed much since this level, what is my accuracy likely to be after the changes are implemented? (It is 169 in this picture, btw)

(78 dex * 0.8) + (57 luk * 0.5) = 90.9 accuracy

Mastery + Blessing = +32 -> 122.9 accuracy
Total Accuracy from equips = 47

Current: 122 + 47 = 169 accuracy
New: 122 * 1.47 = 179 accuracy

You'll benefit from this change.

Edit: Oops looks like you worked it out for yourself already

So basically, you'll benefit if you have over 100 base accuracy/avoid and lose out if you have less?

Is it 173 accuracy needed to 100% hit Oblivion 4? If so, I can lose my agent earrings and get the 3 STR/3 DEX/+10% HP earrings, and have exactly 173 accuracy. This is really exciting for me. Way to make my day, Nexon! Big Grin

It is 173, but fyi, that number will be floored.

Okay, recalculating if stuff like Blessing and Mastery gives % accuracy/avoid instead of a flat rate. Will also include Bullet Time.

Total +accuracy % : 80% (20% Zakum Helm + 9% Overalls +20% Mastery + 11% Blessing + 20% Bullet Time)
Total +avoid %: 101% (38% HT Pendant + 21 % Zakum Helm + 6% Rat Mouth + 5% Overalls + 11% Blessing + 20% Bullet Time) lolwhoops, only 100% max, and I broke the limit already. Sad

Total accuracy after % system applied: 261
Total avoid after % system applied: 486

Total accuracy before % system: 225
Total avoid before % system: 344

Accuracy gained: 36
Avoid gained: 142

lolwhoa. I gain even moar accuracy and avoid. This is just nuts. An Archer Elixir will actually do me no good unless it still gives +20 avoid instead of +20% avoid. Whee heeeeeeee!

I wish pots gave +% avoid. I would use them again. >_>

Also, how do you know 100% is the max? o.o

I think ClawofBeta or someone earlier in the thread said the cap was 100%, or maybe that's just speculation. Goggleemoticon

Hahaha, a balance patch has to be coming soon after this, because I just realized that this change is going to make the Archer's Focus skill completely outclass and shatter Blessing of the Amazon into pieces. Assuming the change ratio is the same (for example, +20 avoid being changed to +20% avoid), Blessing might as well not even exist. I don't think anyone can really say that a passive Accuracy bonus beats out a buff that also adds Avoid for Archers.

(Fun thought: I wonder if they are thinking about changing Focus into a party skill just to help out Warriors? Although it'd just shove Thieves even more into god mode territory.)

It seems most people are talking like if ALL acc and avoid stats in the game are % now, not just some equips...

Wow... My Viper isn't even effected much by this update.

My accuracy will stay the exact same, since I get 0 accuracy boost from equipment and I get a 42% increase in avoidability. I'll end up with 377 avoid and still 188 accuracy. lol Maybe that'll change if Ravana Helmets come out in JMS tomorrow and they're not nerfed (though I doubt it).

At low lvs though +20% of whateverlowavioldarchershave avoid isnt much. My lv 72 Hermit has more (or close to it) aviod than my lv 176 MM.

I dont see the % idea making that huge a difference as the % is a % of your based Aviod/Acc. Its really only going to help those with high base numbers to begin with.

Mathematically, this.

What counts as base accuracy though? If those numbers Spadow listed are accurate, equipment dex/luk no longer affects accuracy. So for a 4 dex base Aran, you get 5.2 base acc + mastery/bless for about 40 total accuracy, and your +70% acc bumps that up to nearly 70 acc.

My Paladin is already wearing as much STR gear as I can afford, so if dex gear becomes pointless and base dex is the only way to get base acc, I'm gonna be about 10 levels weaker, or not able to hit a damn thing. If this goes through I'll definitely quit.

I assume his numbers to currently be glitched, seeing as it's still in the test servers and all. It makes no sense for Dex additions to do contribute nothing at all acc-wise.

Hmm....... I was checking Spadow's blog again, and this definitely doesn't sound right. DEX/LUK from equipment not giving accuracy, yet base DEX/LUK does? It would be a big step back to suddenly make base DEX/LUK from equipment be worth 0 accuracy/avoid. I think he didn't calculate correctly, because he said that without any equipment he had 353 avoid, and equipping the helm gives him 378, which is wrong because 109% of 353 is 384 not 378 (+7% avoid).

Quote:Without ALL my equipment I have 266 accuracy and 353 avoid.
When I only equip my Ravana Helmet (11% accuracy/9% avoidability) then I will have 295 accuracy and 378 avoid.

Other stats of helmet: 18 STR / 20 DEX / 19 INT / 22 LUK / 58 HP / 79 MP / 101 W.DEF/ 104 M.DEF / 7 Speed / 4 Jump

Following Russt's thread on AP for Accuracy and avoid:
Base Accuracy:
Bowmen/Thieves/Pirates/Gunslingers = DEX * 0.6 + LUK * 0.3

Base Avoid:
Warriors[/Magicians/Bowmen/Thieves/Beginners] = DEX * 0.25 + LUK * 0.5

20 DEX + 22 LUK + 11 accuracy (following old formula) = 12 + 6.6 = 11 = 29.6 accuracy
266 accuracy + 18.6 = 295 accuracy

20 DEX + 22 LUK + 9 avoid (following old formula) = 5 + 11 + 9 = 25 avoid
353 avoid + 25 = 378 avoid

CONCLUSION: Tespia is still showing the old numbers, rather than the newer ones. We need to wait for another patch before the numbers show correctly.

Well, at least the signs are showing correctly again.
