Can you CC to ch 15 fm 2 so we can discuss/trade? (Or whatever story you wanna use) Ken: Sure Ken: *CCs* Ken: *DCs* --> hacked It's not a lack of common sense >_> I'm sure if you've done any bit of merchanting, you've been whispered from buyers about items you have for sale, or whatever.

Technically it's a "switch" hack, where you swap one character's connection for another, named after the old DIKU command that let an admin do the same at will. This lesson in gaming history brought to you by: Old Age.

Thanks for the lesson because I have no idea what this stuff is all about. All I know is that all this hacking, of any kind, is getting old fast......and continually pissing me off. Pfft!

Instead of getting you to go to them, can't they just hunt you down? o.o
Now I don't want to log in anymore... D:

MeteorSummoner Wrote:Instead of getting you to go to them, can't they just hunt you down? o.o It's more expedient to get you to come to them than to sit waiting for you to CC to the channel they want you on. The CC is necessary because they hijack the transfer of your character from one channel server to another. You could theoretically avoid this by always logging out to change channel, but as long as they know where to expect you to come out it may still be vulnerable.

Nexon will also remind you that having your account hacked is a result of a keylogger, phishing, or social engineering. But then again, a GM may have made accidentally posted account info to all these accounts. I'm awaiting the next excuse with great anticipation.

DaltonnnnnN whispered me to come FM, because he wanted to buy my top from MTS for mesos, and I thought why not, this isn't the first time someone has offered to my items in MTS for mesos, so there would be no harm. So I came to the FM, some guy famed me(don't think it matters but it might...) he told me to go to the MTS to get the top and I did, which instantly DC's me. I try to relog and I get the message that my account is still online, but the weird thing was, I could not logon to ANY of my other accounts as it gave me the same message, ever after a reboot on Maple. I can't get back on for 10 mins. I get back, and I've lost almost everything. The things the hacker left were:
8 EMPTY balanced furies 500k meso 1k NX Red Sock top/bot zhelm All the other untradeables were karma'd away. 2147483647 Wrote:This is what Item Locks are for. I'm quite sure that as a customer under a serious company, I should not be afraid of losing (hard) work because of the possibility that someone manage to hack my account because of a security-hole in their coding.

2147483647 Wrote:This is what Item Locks are for. Item locks are nice, but besides being NX-expensive, they don't solve the whole problem: - You can't lock your meso or your NX. - You can't lock valuable non-equips such as scrolls, books, apples, pieces of time, jewels and crystals. - If you're a merchant you're likely to be holding any number of valuable equips you actually want to sell. - Most people don't have end-game equips. What they are wearing is very important and valuable (if only to them), but they will want to replace it at some point. So which lock to get, to avoid getting stuck with unsellable and unused equips, and also avoid having to buy another lock later? Hacks and exploits will always exist, it's an eternal race between the white and black hats. But Nexon has to at least try to keep up. Exploits that were used a year ago should not work today. Not to mention ancient history as Eos mentioned.

How come I d/c when I switch my IP while changing channels but the hackers can do it? This is discrimination
