Wait, why is everyone so excited over this?
Is this some sort of series? I'm confused here o.O
I do want this game, but how is the Wii Remote used?
Ty.

KaidaTan Wrote:Then another problem I have is that my computer can't read SD cards. I'm not sure how many computers can by default, but is there some kind of USB hookup that can do it? And then there's my crappy DVD burner. I don't trust it to burn anything properly. Will an official version of the game play on a softmodded Wii or do you have to use a burned version?
I've softmodded my Wii for the homebrew channel (for Brawl+) before, but recently my Wii updated itself and told me to delete any 3rd party stuff or it might be bricked. Not having any backup on hand, I obediently followed its directions. And now the guy whose computer and SD card I used to softmod my Wii is 3000 miles further away than he used to be.
I specifically bought an SD reader USb thing to do this, sadly. It cost about 10 dollars, and the SD card, which may or may not be handy for me in the future also cost 10 (4gb on sale and pomegranatety brand name).
I think I've read something like the v4.2 Wii software can't be soft-modded as safely as 4.0&4.1 or something. You should definitely be able to play an imported version on a modded Wii though, soft or hard. The main channel you're looking to get on the Wii though should be the NeoGamma thingar. Can't recall the exact name, but it comes with the package here Simple guide.
The Wii Mote's motion sensitivity is not used in this game, unlike Symphonia 2. I would have prefered that it was, so I could have four more short cuts, but sadly it isn't, even though the motion sensing in ToS2 was pretty bad.
A is for "A" Attacks. B is for "B" Attacks. D-Pad lets you switch between characters in play (P1=U P2=L P3=R P4=D). Plus is menu. Minus is PAUSE. 1 is Map in game, and I can't recall what significance it held in battle. 2 Doesn't usually do anything. Z is to Block. C is extra info basically. (Monster stat)
Sadly, you don't get to set other character's skills into shortcut slots like past Tales games, which makes for coordination in battles more difficult. It's a shame too since it's such a fast paced game. I expect the lolPS3 version to though, due to the extra shoulder buttons the Wii doesn't have.

It should be possible to mod it even in 4.2 update for the wii.Security Updates usually get cracked the same day. If you have a very good computer you can play tales of graces use the dolphin emulator it runs the game perfectly.

Shameless bump.

Product recall and bug fix =D tl;dr of the site is it apologizes for the bugs present, outlines what they are and says you can send in your copy of the game to them for a new disc and some prizes.
I'll be scouring Share and isohunt every day for a new iso now.
Guess this is good news for the English release. You won't be getting a buggy version.
On that note, I'll likely start my second play through on Chaos Mode or whatever it's called soon, especially if I can get a copy of the correct iso. What character should I play through as? (Anyone except Malek) Currently leaning towards Sophie or Hubert though I'm not objectioned to Pascal or Cheria, I just hate Malek.. No this is not a Single Character Challenge, I'll just be mainly playing this character as P1, and I'll only play another if I want to switch mid-battle to coordinate an attack or do Arena matches. I can hardly get through Normal Mode Lamda with Full Party as Asbel, heh. Unlimited Blade Works every friggin time.

Hubert because he looks fucking sick. Squall has nothing on GunBowSwords. Not that I ever liked FF8, but those weapons are just hot.

The only thing I dislike about Hubert is his atrociously low base CC. Maybe I didn't unlock the titles that gave him more minimum CC. Right now, he starts his battles off with 6 for God knows what reason, even though his weapon lets him bring it up to 17. Battles never last that long except boss and solo fights, and Hubert needs at least 1 extra CC after attacking to dash-cancel his silly weapon twirling. After he uses most of his attacks, his Double Edge is usually separated into two blades, so he does some action where he recombines them and twirls it around, taking a lot of time. It adds another level of complexity to playing his character I would say, but it can be down right annoying some times.
So that's +1 Hubert.

I think you should try Hubert. There's probably some kind of armor(upgrade?) or title which gives you more base CC. Another reason to play Hubert is that fact that if you play Sophie you really need to do the healing yourself or have Cheria in your party all the time. From what I've seen Huberts only healing arte is Healing Wind, which isn't a must to use and if you use it it affects anyone that stands in its range, so it's much more of a "player friendly" arte. Sophie has First Aid, Heal, Cure and Revive so you'll spend more time using magic than you would with Hubert. Unless you like healing and letting the AI controlled party members kill everything for you.
I can't wait for this game to come out in Europe, the game seems very fast paced (especially when you compare it to ToS2 with its slow magic) and the fact that it doesn't use TP(or any variation on MP) is great.

Hubert's Healing Wind is worthless. Heals me about 900 HP but the cast time is so long. Sophie could probably First Aid me before it finished.

Which means you won't be wasting your time healing if you play as Hubert, allowing for more monster smashing, right? Shouldn't Healing Wind heal 25% of your HP though? Maybe because it heals in multiple ticks like in ToS2, and you move out of the area too quickly so you only get 1/4th of the HP(yes I actually used Zelos in ToS2). Either way, I think you should look and see which character fits your playing style more instead of letting us decide for you.

I can't remember off the top of my head how much HP my Hubert has. It's just slow and not worth the time, nor does it even have the range to heal multiple targets.
I just think it's stupid they gave him Healing Wind. Like they gave Regal whatever shitty healing spell he had. On that note, I do recall Pascal's Shine Field healing ~25% HP. Does Light Damage and heals <3 Perfect life saver since she's always so up close with monsters.
