The f--... Going from Fighter (fist-melee) to a Spellcaster? The hell is this pomegranate? And sup with the warrior / knight -> Fighter? That's sick! Dang!

She uses the same weapon Martha does (chakram..sort of thing) and a gun. Yes, a fucking gun. epic. SoPhie is everything Martha should've been and more.

Here's some background info for SoPhie:

~ Asbel happened to meet her in the middle of a battle during a dispute at the border, against the military (Fendel's army, perhaps? ). This girl who has an innocent atmosphere about her is actually quite used to combat, and was able to help Asbel in repelling the military. She has lost her memory, though it isn't exactly a necessity to her unless it concerns interacting with other people. Asbel named her after a beautiful blooming flower, and he himself is quite affectionate about that flower in his memories.

I am really looking forward to this and it appears the main character has two different attack styles one with his sword sheathed and one actually using it in combat and the quasi-spellcaster looks badass

That's the point of the battle system of this game. Every character has 2 styles, Asbel (Main char) has Sword attacks + unsheethed sword attacks and SoPhie has Martial Arts/Grapling + Healing artes.

This isn't like ToS though, you're free to put any style skill on any hotkey and switch instantly, there's no limitation.

Hence "Style Shift Linear Motion Battle System" (SS-LMBS)

The girl character reminds me of Farah from ToE. <_< Grappling + Healing? Man... Farah was a fucking goddess in the Tales series when it came to grappling+healing, iirc, she could revive too. Oh wait, she can! That's right, she has that one 'Life' skill, but it takes a while to charge up.

I'd like to try using her, to be honest. <_<

Hearing that she used Chakram, I expected epic fail like what'sherface from Symphonia, but looks like she's done right. Her attacks don't cut too wide so she can stay on target, unlike a certain papaya coughRegalcough.
And AROUND STEP FFFFFFFFFFFFF YES
After Hearts, I fell in love with Action Skills. Fucking beautiful! And very glad they only gave SoPhie healing spells. Kohak ended up having zero use melee-wise unless I controlled her since her attack spells were much better offense.
Now, hopefully this game won't make use of the motion sensor system so I won't have to drag out my Wii and burn this onto a dvd -_-

I think this is gonna be like the Symphonia story where there is an alternate world with more advance technology, since you can see some flying ship being launched off a roller coaster track during one of the videos. Sophie might be from that alternate world.

...BATTLE SYSTEM. PLEASE KEEP ME OCCUPIED.

I doubt a main character will die. However, if that is to be the case, I foresee the following:

1) Character dies (or supposedly dies...)
2) Character is dreaming of something, or is in a God's Realm
3) Character then goes through trials and gets GOD-LIKE POWERS!
4) Character has awaken, and is no longer dead.
5) Character is now bad-ass ; "I don't want to save the world.. I ... I.. want to protect someone important to me"

Oh come on, Asbel will not die. I'm definitely sure SoPhie or some other person will revive him or bla bla bla. It's common.

Needs more SoPhie gameplay videos. The latest one shows a brief playthrough of her, she's doing splits in mid-air and slicing with her pink/purple grappler gloves. She's pineappleing godly.

Also Hubert (Asbel's brother) looks ridiculous (in a good way) and his skills are an invitation to an orgy. Hell yes.


They need to release character gameplay videos! I'm sure Hubert's and SoPhie's will have fuckton of views.
