Life expectancy is 75-80 in the US, yes. But it's closer to 100 for 'us'- people under 20ish(?). I suppose my source, counselor at school isn't the best, but it makes sense. Someone born in 1975 is probably going to live a shorter life than someone born in 1990, or 2000, or 2009, because medicine is always improving, along with diet and nutrition information.
Just because the ubtenthtillion try to reform health care failed doesn't mean we won't get it right in 2010, or 2013, or 2020.
