Maker - Alchemy Skill FAQ and Walkthrough
#21
Well IsaacGS, even the 9 w.attack from the 3 diamonds would be beyond godly for a hermit. Imagine a clean ~59-70 w.atk sleeve. Just purely unfair!

I'm still not 100% sure that you can use the same grade all 3 times, but even a 6 attack bonus seems like a lot. They tried to balance it with thieves, I guess, but it is still way unfair, I agree.

What about the level 110 equips? Can you forge those? Do they require the same ridiculous amount of items as forging them in Leafre?
What about the previous forging NPCs, are those basically (even more) useless now?

Yes, the forging recipes for items that you can forge through NPCs now are still the same. You still need stupid Dragon Scales and Dragon Spirits.

The only advantage forging NPCs have over this skill is that they don't have a level requirement.

In this picture are the top 6 slots fixed (it just takes directly from inventory) and you click drag items into the bottom ones?

Would you mind posting example recipes at each level of item just to get an idea how much stuff you need?

I can only forge level 50 pirate gear right now, so it's hard to give an accurate idea of this. Also, if you have enough of an item (Like if I had 5 green powders) it would automatically become colored in the top boxes. You don't need to drag necessary items in there, it detects those on its own.

I can say that a level 50 Knuckle needed 20 Low Grade Monster Crystal C's, which equals 2,000 ETC items from level 30-50 monsters. Weapons take drastically larger amounts of items than other equipments (as you can see in that screen, it only needs 10 Monster Crystals for the level 50 overall.) Whatever color powder it is that they need, everything requires 5 of it. A glove needs 5 brown, a boot needs 5 brown, the overall needs 5 green... I don't know if this will increase with higher level recipes.

To add jewels or stimulators, you just drag them into the boxes. You can't really see it but the bottom boxes next to the stimulator are X'ed out.

Thanks Isaac, I was looking for what the different ores did, lol. I've got one correction though. With Maker skill level 2, it only lets you add 2 crystals on items level 75+ and it won't let you use the same type of crystal more than once. For example, you can add one +3 att diamond and a dex crystal or something, but you can't add a 3 att diamond and a 2 att diamond, or a 3 att and 3 att, etc. You get an error when you try (http://i35.tinypic.com/10p2c2d.png), so the best attack you can get on a weapon without a stimulator is average+3.

Ok, thanks, I'll fix that. I was hoping you'd see this thread. XD

But say you use a diamond, a DC, and a BC, could they both roll weapon attack and stack with the diamond?

That would make a +11 clean weapon possible, but very unlikely. Might as well just hit two 30's.

I wonder if this will make jump quests that give diamonds as a reward, more popular. It would be wierd to see a lot of people in B3 again.

I know I'll be revisiting afew JQ's for the extra ores once this is out.

You could make some really wicked gear using this thing.

Could anyone post some SS's of some made gear or a video on youtube of somone making it? I'd like to just see a video of somthing being made with awesome stats. =]

no, because you can't make common job items, and you can't use Diamonds on anything but weapons.

Yeah, it's possible, but you'd have to be really, really, really lucky.

I'll get one in a second. I made an Overall with the maker skill and put a Dex Crystal on it.

See, that's the one I made compared to the average one in the Maker skill.

I also had a quest at level 50 for the Maker Skill. He wanted me to go to El Nath and meet the shoe maker Gordon. He asked me to get 50 Jr. Yeti Skins. After I did this, He gave me this pendant:

Notice that it has no slots and no stats. Its purpose eludes me, I have no clue what it's for. It looks awfully weird.

UHM... I think I have a theory for these ones. Maybe the black crystal can only add a random stat from any regular jewel (attack, speed, hp, etc...), while the dark crystal can only add from any crystal (STR, INT, DEX, LUK).

Kinda makes sense, but I obviously don't know the real deal :p

Interesting.... I always wondered what I should do with my STACK of refined gems and crystals...
Also, can you slot more than one gem into the weapon/armor?

IsaacGS Wrote:For a Maker Skill at level 1, you can only use 1 jewel per formula. I believe the number of jewels you can use goes up as you level the skill, meaning that at 105 you could use a total of 3 jewels on one forged equip. They don't all have to be the same jewels, either. Since a high grade Diamond will add 3 weapon attack. According to Blitzkrieg (Shrapnel of KMS), you may only use one of a jewel type per equip. One diamond, be it high grade or low grade. Now you see why this skill is useful, no? pineappleing godly.

^ that.

Looking at the picture though, there seem to be 4 possible slots for jewels (1 is available, 3 are crossed out). Maybe it goes 1, 2, 4, or maybe there's a level 4 in the future?

I think it's just a place holder for there being 4 in the future. The skill's max for the moment is 3. Since you can only use 1 diamond, the most useful thing to do would be 1 high grade diamond and 1 high grade Stat crystal (STR/DEX/LUK). With that it doesn't really matter what you put on your 3rd slot. I guess you could put your secondary stat, but since most people only use the secondary stat to equip a weapon, it's not gonna do you much good.
