I was on the logic that since some people consider raptors as the dinosaurs i would put bird there to clarrify with redundancies =)
But i don't think a melee bowman would work... that kinda defeats the purpose of an archer...

Thief - Brigand. Uses cheap tactics to deal damage. I guess they'd equip swords.
Bowman - Bowyer. Uses both bows and crossbows and can make arrows for both. Strong arrows.
Pirate - Swashbuckler. Uses rapiers. And insults enemies for massive damage.

Nice idea, I already made the brigand class and they're basically spear throwers. Still I love the bowman and the pirate ideas.

This game needs rifles. The long kind. Bowmen, thieves, and pirates can share rifles. Like Rifleman, Sniper, and something else for pirates.

The only other sorts of long range weaponry would be darts, throwing spears, and rope based things like bolas. Then you would have your large scale weaponry like ballistas, catapults and trebuchets. Notice that the title of "marksman" does not apply to ANY users of these sort of wepaons.
It could be argued that darts are used in a way like guns are now, but none of the others fit the bill (aside from the large ones which have modern equivalents in military weaponry like tanks and such).

In a sense, shuriken are not long range.

For pirates, I am totally seeing vikings with weapons to beat monsters with. Not specifically blunt weapons but something. It's time to forget about ninjas versus pirates (I like pirates BTW), it's time for assassins versus vikings  .

Vikings, in your sense would seem a little more like a Warrior to me.
With all classes in mind, you basically have most of the close/long range aspects.
I'd still like to see some kind of Dual-Wielding effect; especially for Dks.

~Bandits should be the 3rd Pirate class
~Sins should fall under a different class name. Assassins technically aren't Thieves.
~I want a class that will need primary and secondary stats requiring Dex/Int or Str/Int. Alchemist would be good for one of those, but not like the Anime type. Like a Demolitions alchemist that would throw miniature explosives. Flash for a stun effect, smoke bombs for a blinding effect, frag for damage, incendiary for fire weak, nitrogen bomb for ice weak. They could have a skill that would be like a Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde thing where they'd get a significant buff such as W. Attack, Speed, and Defense Up.

It also doesn't make sense when 4th Job Bandits get the skill Assassinate.

It'd be funny to have a shriner/minitank class (don't know where it'd go) that builds its own car (maybe +5/10 speed nothing fast of course [-5/10 for tank]) and drives around holding weapons out the windows doing drive bys al la mailbox bashing or upgrades the car with blades on the wheels to take out the mobs ankles (if they had them) tank would have to be 4th with the cannon and all....

a dual wield element bandit! every time you attack, it hits twice, but to keep it not broken, the w. attack gets halved. they use double stab like a bandit, and they get twin blades! and they have elements! lightning, poison and darkness(new element which doesn't really have an ele. advantage, but gives darkness with a % chance like poison) and it would be(help me think of names plz)
