Russt Wrote:Technically, there aren't many non-bosses above 200k HP? If you don't count invincible monsters or mobs with fixed damage values, I can't think of one off the top of my head. One of the points remain that BanHammer doesn't give a shyt what the elemAttr involved are, or whether you can actually hit a monster in the first place (except for those without a hit box). Well, last time I tried that, it actually said "MISS", which is unusual because invincible monsters usually don't tell you "MISS" when you BanHammer them o.O After seeing what Cyanne said, I'm not willing to try again.

You don't need to test heavens hammer. It did 100k to crimson guards before the damage cap was raised, so we know exactly how it works.

Fiel Wrote:Well, I can't be entirely sure that Snipe is calculated client side or not given its odd damage calculation, but P2 did not affect the damage from Snipe (195k damage every time) Can you confirm that snipe does 195,000 exactly every time? o.o I always thought it was 199,999 consistently, regardless of what number shows up. If it's 195,000, then this is news to me. x3

It was 195k. I really couldn't tell you the why or wherefore, but it was 195,XXX.
I'm not even going to bother making the snail a boss type. Kaj has already shown the original calculation to be wrong - why try it again? It's a futile effort.

Fiel Wrote:It was 195k. I really couldn't tell you the why or wherefore, but it was 195,XXX. I know this is like completely off topic, but you owning the private test server and all, can you do a little conclusive testing with Snipe? I was always under the impression that snipe was a static 199,999, and now you tell me that snipe does 195,XXX, meaning, it has some form of variation, or a "range" so to speak.
2009-09-14, 02:31 PM
Just make a bunch of 199,999 HP snails and see if you get a kill every single time.
You can throw in P2 if you want too.

(Wow, two if's. You sure are demanding a lot
)Anyway, FluffyFox, didn't you say in an Amherst thread that the damage Snipe does is not what it shows? Sounds like Fiel's going by what it shows.

Russt Wrote:(Wow, two if's. You sure are demanding a lot No, Fiel stated it was always a static number, but it was kinda arbitrary, something to the effect of 195,XXX damage. He said he didn't keep track of the number. So that does prove that snipe deals static damage, however, the number that it actually deals is not 199,999 like originally perceived. But, it's up to Fiel to tell us the exact figure.
