For that matter, wasn't our original localization done in the vancouver office back when they had it?
It's not having what you want - It's wanting what you've got.

If that was the case; then why is it that they're pretty much stoned in their California offices? Either it's the heat or they're running rather low on some bud.

Maybe that's why their having so many mistakes. Biggrin

EL Nath refers to Al-Nas which is arabic for "Mankind" and is the last chapter of the Quran (basically the islamic equivelant of revelations.)
That's why the npc's are Arabic themed, as well as Zakum (from Zaqqum). If you get the El Nath cape, it refers to Alnas in the textbox.

O_O

From Wikipedia:

Orbis, the Latin word for "circle", "ring", "sphere" or anything round or rotating

...

If you haven't noticed the obvious yet. Maplestory is made of mythologies, legends, children's book, and some other things.

While not completely the same, I always get the wrong idea when I think of Henesys.

Hennessy = Alcohol
Henesys = Maplestory Town.

I still like the Zakum one the best though.

Edit: Oh fudge, someone beat me to it a few posts above Rolleyes

Pineapples, I was going to mention that Pineapple

I was looking through this free North Pole map that came with last quarter's issue of National Geographic, and Victoria Island was staring me in the face Goggleemoticon

1. My hometown is on that map.
2. We do not consume Maple Leaves.
3. I do not live in an igloo.
4. I haven't had real maple syrup in over 5 years.

I've scribbled down something about Zakum and the mythology behind; it refers mostly to Aztec, Inca and Maya-culture and stories. Zakum's fruit and residence (Hell) is due to the Zaqqum, yes. But Zakum's tale is somewhat similar to the tale of Zipacna, and explains why Zakum's made out of stone. A lot of different other statues made of other gods (Even a Christian statue, but apart from that, all Aztec/Maya) combined looks like Zakum.

I've grown an apetite for the crusader-skill and dragon knight skills. They have certainly interesting magic circles, where I've found two of them (They are completely similar, there's no mistake). Looking for the double-ouroboros from Dragon Knight's collection at the current moment, or at least trying to find out what the text refers to.

(I'll post the circles later, when I'm on my ubuntu-account)

Someone else started a list of translations a while back, but stopped.
Here it is.
