I really hope Fiel or Locked find this update interesting enough to extract.

I think that, if they've restructured skills in a similar manner to the way they re-did mobs, they might have to update their extractors first to deal with the new format.

Seems to be one skill for now.
But if I understand the description in Max's blog correctly, then more "skill cores" will be added to the game later.
They were more focused on designing the system (and the Matrix) than thinking up actual new skills for 40 classes (which, let's face it, is what held 5th job back all this time).

What I'm struggling to understand is the system. Maybe you can help shed some light for me. I saw in one videosome guy had combart orders and demons metamorphis skill. So how exactly does this work? Do you have Combat Orders?

Also: Looking at the world map those next two areas must be coming in this update or at least really soon. I'm sure this is a multipart patch

Made a video where you can see a glimpse of the first area of Arcane River as well as Zero's fifth job skill.

It wasn't mentioned in the patch notes but it seems like there are Skill Cores for Decent skills as well. Although they are a bit different, like my Decent Sharp Eyes starts off with 186 second duration and has a passive that gives all stats.

Marksman's skill looks like Phantom's skill steal but it does damage. Lackluster.

in their defense, there are so many ways to shoot an arrow before you start retreading waters.

Somewhat related note, which class is the king of crit damage now?

I don't think they made any new job titles in this patch. That's a big dissappointment.

Holy hell 37m-40m range and he hits up to 3B, I wonder how fast he kills Damien.

Also what elso could they have done? Aran skills already are flashy enough(how many ultis does he have now? 3-4?) so a skill that lets you use Maha is good enough IMO.

Correct. There won't be new class names from this new advancement. Nexon didn't go with the traditional way of implementing advancements like they did with the 2nd, 3rd and 4th job advancement.
Why not? I don't know. Maybe it didn't work that way because of the amount of classes the game has? So many new skills can make balancing a very difficult job. Now, with the 5th job advancement every class has one new skill.
Tidbits of info about the 5th job advancement were revealed in 2013 and they started to work on a prototype since then. Though the prototype was created under the supervision of the previous director. Every director has different ideas for the game. Now we have Wonky the Fairy as the new director who is responsible for the new content and especially for this update.

The advancement is an upgrade of the obsolete Hyper Skills system. I have mixed feelings about it.
Personally I am most looking forward to the new continent of Arcane River and Lucid along with the storytelling now that I have seen what the 5th job advancement is like.

Yeah, I noticed that all classes seem to have Enhance Cores for their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd job skills, even ones that are objectively useless once you replace them. Will those cores make players' earlier skills viable as endgame damage options? If they will, then that definitely makes me want to get my Thunder Breaker to 5th job some day!
