aka they used PS footage to promote the game, lol

Because MS2 has mini-games just like the GM events and monsteropoly and they used clips from those games as examples of MS1 mini-games.

eh the wait is slowly killing the game for me , and the game itself looks pretty meh.. to me .. nothing will compare to maplestory (1) and the memories from it..

Just restart maplestory 1 from the beginning and give us all 3-5 years of nostalgia .. thatd be awesome

do we even know if there will be like beginner , 1st job (mage) 2nd job (cleric) and then 3rd job (priest)? for example ? Or do you just start off as a priest and stay it forever..?

we need korea to translate this pomegranate in english for us english speaking players .. obv its starting in korea but to branch out of korea they need to better advertise to non korean people ..

O.o The hell you talking about? "the wait is slowly killing the game for me" since it's been announced it hasn't even been a year, games take time to make and usually way more than one year, also if you read the thread you would know they wont do classes like in ms1, everyone starts being the class they'll be(you pick cleric when making the character I assume) and lastly the game hasn't even gotten to beta and they want them to use extra resources in translating these stuff for us, if they do they'll start hyping the western market way too early.

Seriously, the nostalgia love for MS1 is so damn strong it's ridiculous. "Old" MS1 is dead. Get over it.

I'm assuming alpha testing is not the same as CBT? Or is it really the same thing.

CBT = Closed Beta Test. Consider the Alpha test a focus group test.
Beta testing will hopefully commence later this year in a few months.

Yea I thought so, I did hear about an open beta testing would be starting sometime before december, from a translated facebook quote from their official facebook.

Translation i saw included the word "hope" so it will probably be as close to the end of the year as they can possibly delay it. 4 months is a long time though; if we think about where the game was in it's previews and teasers 4 months ago it's a huge difference so i'm sure they'll pull though fine.

Boss fights! These all seem much more like area bosses in MS1 as opposed to expedition bosses, which is quite cool. The Last Bajar destroyed half the map when he jumped down on to the bottom platform at 2:40 ish... and that looks like Balrog at the end!

The first alpha test starts one week today I believe, so we might see some more gameplay videos pretty soon if we're lucky

Anyway the spiky turtle boss reminds me a lot of the snapper from majora's mask.

Or maybe you can team up with other people to defeat the boss, you know like how they do in the video...

I find "clinging" to be an adorable mechanic. Obviously, it is necessary for the rock guy that jumps down, but in the opening montage there's a lot of that going on, even when it doesn't appear necessary. Maybe it slows them down. Hug your boss to death.
