I don't know, they can type-change it too and maybe give it another type than dark ontop of ghost. We'll have to see.
It might also have an ability that makes physical attacks deal no damage.

That was the first thing I was thinking when I saw it.

Also, this means we should be getting more megas than what we've seen too. My guess is more Hoenn pokemon before anything else.

Megas I expect: Mega Camerupt, Mega Sharpedo, Mega Metagross, Mega Cacturne, Mega Flygon, Mega Skarmory, Mega Rayquaza, Mega Jirachi

My first guess was that it would have stance change similar to Aegislash. If Flygon doesnt get a mega I will cry so many tears

Skarmory was so rare in Gen 2 that I never came across one, I first saw a Skarmory in Gen 3 in the ash covered area, so I always think Skarmory is a Gen 3 pokemon

I expect Mega Kecleon (Yes, I'm a rebel).

Jokes aside, I expect Mega Armaldo/Cradily, Flygon/Salamance, Sharpedo, camerupt, Slaking.

Mostly my reasoning is that Skarmory is already a good pokemon, and it's pretty popular. And while it's design is pretty awesome for a standalone pokemon, It could really do with the kind of touch-up a mega evolution could give.

I really hope they don't pull any more version exclusive mega stones...

I'm pretty sure Mega Mawile and Mega Sableye are version exclusives.

Only as long as Zangoose gets an equally awesome Mega evo.

I'm thinking Sableye will get a Substitute-like ability, or in some way be immune to direct damage.

Welp. Mega Sableye just cemented that I'm getting Alpha Sapphire, if the version exclusives remains the same from the original two games. So hyped.

It's probably intentional, because Sceptile is a reptile and part plant, so it can probably regrow its tail, but this really looks weird.

Someone pointed this out on reddit, since it's hard to see it, but you can see the bulbs on Mega Sceptile's tail grow bigger just before his tail seems to disappear. I guess that implies that his tail gets launched out when he does attacks. That's kinda neat, I think!
They probably should have made it more obvious though, maybe make the tail glow like the anime tends to do when Pokemon do attacks.

In the trailer, Maxie has a Key Stone in his glasses, and Archie has a Key Stone in the amulet around his neck.
If you look at the past teams of Maxie and Archie, they both have a Mightyena and a Crobat, but Maxie has a Camerupt and Archie has a Sharpedo.

If you consider Camerupt and Sharpedo as their signature pokemon, then it looks like Mega Camerupt and Mega Sharpedo are coming.

But Camerupt's counterpart is Wailord, so if we get Mega Camerupt, we're likely to get Mega Wailord too.

As for Sharpedo...I dunno. Maybe its counterpart is like Crawdaunt or something. I just have this feeling it has a counterpart, but I can't quite remember.

I think they're focusing on spreading out the mega evolutions across the other generations instead of just one. It'd be neat if they feature giving a Johto starter later in the game too, I'd be happy with a Mega Typhlosion.

First and second generation stuff is pretty nostalgic imo... I remember reading about how they were thinking of giving Pikachu a mega, but scrapped it. The Zuubat family/Mega Crobat and Mega Mightyena could look cool. If they give Salamence one, then I think some of the competitive people might be expecting one for Dragonite.

I might be jumping ahead, but I wonder how transferring pokemon back and forth will work this time aside from trading. They can update and patch X/Y with stuff, though I wonder if more people will use the Pokebank for it?

Yeah, they'd likely push a patch for XY either a few days before or the day of OR/AS release to allow communication between the two along with Primal Groudon/Kyogre and the new megas (really nice considering they couldn't do this in past games).
