Ok, now I got the quest to take on Jenny (Jhen). Does anyone have any advice, any good weapons or armor I need?

Any weapon with Ice element. The Barioth lance, Sabertooth, worked wonders for me. Also gem in Artillery Expert and eat a meal of Meat + Dairy and choose Steam as the cooking type to get Felyne Bombardier. Artillery Expert and Felyne Bombardier will both boost damage on the dragonship's Ballista/Cannons, and they stack.

As for armor, just anything you can get Artillery Expert on. I used Agnaktor U since I was using a Lance.

Using this setup, eventually I was getting to sub-20 minute kills.

Also, break both of the cracked spots on his back, and keep attacking them afterwards (This is the weakest point you'll be able to hit reliably in the first phase).

Make sure you use up all of your Ballista ammo and Cannon ammo, it makes a very noticeable difference.

Ok, how about something on the lines of SnS, Dual Blades and Long Swords?

G-RANK! Big Grin

The Goldenbeard Ceadeus was so bloody annoying, especially on our second run (since we had to do 1 run for both of us to go up a rank). I guess I didn't notice before going on the quest that I had -20 Water resistance, because his waterlasers would ohko me from full health. :|

Dual Blades, I think Barioth S would work if you use the Blizzarioths. Personally I waited till 9* Village before I even messed with Jhen.

Jhen and Ceadeus are the only two monsters I couldn't care less if everyone was using Slime for. Neither of them are fun at all, and yet they like making you need their materials like no tomorrow. It's so annoying.

I like how to improve my Lagia Sword, which still hasn't been touched, I need the blood of a Ceadeus, and I couldn't kill him within the 30min time for some reason, neither with my Insectistrippers or my Dios DBs.

Did you at least Repel him? If you can repel him, the damage you've done to him is mostly saved. He starts to heal slowly after every quest you do though, so the sooner you do him the second time the sooner you can kill him.

How do I repel him?

You deal a certain amount of damage within the quest time limit. Damage carries over as Polantaris said, so you can kill him the next time you do the quest.

You have to deal enough damage to pass a health threshold. After that threshold is passed, he'll leave after the 30 minutes in the quest runs out and you'll still get rewards in spite of not killing it.

The first fight with Ceadeus ("Save Moga Village!") is always a mandatory repel, but afterwards you can go fight a new Ceadeus ("The Decisive Battle") and eventually kill it.

If you repel him in "The Decisive Battle", damage is carried over if you decide to repeat the quest, allowing you a chance to kill him. This usually doesn't take more than three quests (rounds) at the most with Low Rank equipment, and when you get some decent High Rank equipment you can eventually start killing him in one round.

I only did enough damage to break it's tail and horns and I used the dragonator twice and blasred it with the ballistas. Is the threshold noticeable?

When you've done enough damage to reach the threshold, Cha-Cha with the Ancient Mask will say something like "Cho-ho-ho! Maybe you not so bad after all!"

I paused my game just so I could rant about the bullfango. I'm trying to farm Zinogre on my own since I'm jelly of my friend's Zinogre armor set, but seriously. I have a time frame to attack him almost freely before he goes all super-fast-lightning-kitty-mode and everytime I want to get off a combo, a pig runs into me.

Q_Q

Oh, and... what is this shiny red glowy thing on my character's left hand? o_O It keeps appearing there while in combat and when my weapons are sheathed. Didn't notice it before; is it something specific to dual swords?

If it's Brachydios armor, that's Challenger +1 activating. You get a boost while in the area with a monster in rage mode.

I've got a question regarding the CPP. Does it have an option that allows you to control the movement of the character with the analog stick on the CPP?

I don't think so, only stuff dealing with ZR/ZL.
