Got my DBs with me now, and damn is it effective. How well do you think they'll do with a Ceadeus?

That slime really is nuts. 0.0
I thought I was lucky that I got a Brachy gem on our first kill. Then another friend tells me that he got two in a row. *rage* It's the last thing I need to upgrade the Dios LS; already used my first on crafting the waist armor. T_T We made it to HR5 yesterday (Zinogre so fast). I think, after we both get our swords upgraded, we're farming either Barioth or Ivory Lagia because we find the armor pretty. Blagfdslk I just learned that we need to kill the Glacial Agnaktor first before being able to get our hands on the guild quest with the 2 regular ones. Q_Q

Despite having the armor combination generator, I am having trouble coming up with a good G-Rank armor combination set for my friend. He's a Longsword user, and I know absolutely nothing about the weapon. I tried it once and just absolutely hated it. So I guess I'm just here questioning: what skills are best for a Longsword user who is already at G-Rank and what would be a good armor combination for those skills?
Anyways... I gotta say, G-Rank Nargacuga is quite intimidating. His tail smash does sooooooooooooo much damage. Also fought the Green subspecies who for the most part was pretty much the same, but it did take me by surprise when his tail thorns instantly stunned me. Yikes. As soon as Zinogre gives me a damn Skymerald, I'll upgrade my THUNDER Dual Blades and take on his Stygian counterpart.

Everyone here has turned to the sli----dark side. ='(

I generally do not use Longsword myself, but from experience in FU/FO with them, I can say that it doesn't really have many skills that are special for it that you wouldn't want to do without. It can make use of Focus, but I don't really see the point in that. There's no real need to fill up the spirit bar 20% quicker. I would say go with the generics, Sharp+1, maybe Razor Sharp, maybe Awaken if necessary for a good LS, Evasion, AU/CE, etc. Don't bother with the unsheathe boosts (Critical Draw and Punishing Draw) because there's no point there, and quick sheathing isn't really that big of a deal for most blader weapons in my opinion. Green Narga isn't very different from regular. He basically just does most things twice in a row instead of once, including (but not limited to) the tail smash, tail swipe, and leaping. Other than that he's pretty pointless for a monster. I hear Lucent Narga is different, but I haven't gotten to him yet, probably HR50 req.

Unless I get a stupid good 3 slot charm, I shan't touch slime unless I really need to break a part ASAP. Goddamn I want High School to be over. I haven't had time to play for a while. I want to get to G-rank sooo baaad.

I hate Duram...I need a tailbone to start working on his hammer, and the game refuses to give me one. I can't even do G Rank Duram for it, it's a Low/High rank material, Low Rank rare...Ugh...It has been at least 10 now and I don't have one. Even in G Rank gear this pineappleer still takes 7 minutes, it's annoying.
Piggy 2.0 Wrote:Hey. Hey. Only part of Slime I use myself is Slime Coatings for that reason. Honestly, Slime Coats are the only part of Slime that seems balanced. Good for breaking parts, but you need to use it sparingly because you only get so many shots.

My progress.
-Took out the Zinorge, who was surprisingly more badass than the Brachydios. -Made it to 9* village quests. I'm wondering where I can get a Rathian carapace for the Jhen quest.

Arrol Wrote:-Took out the Zinorge, who was surprisingly more badass than the Brachydios. Zinogre is freaking awesome. He is, by far, my favorite monster in 3rd gen Monster Hunter. Rathian Carapace comes from High Rank Rathian, in case you weren't being sarcastic. Carapace is essentially the High Rank name for Shell. Some items get a new name while others just get + to the end of them, their naming convention is kinda annoying like that.

I was going to say, isn't high rank Rathian unlocked by then...? Then I checked my village quests and lolol no Rathian.
I mean, you could solo the multiplayer guild quests, I guess? 0.0 With the stuff you have on now from the high rank village quests, you could easily get to HR3, where you can unlock a high rank Rathian quest. Zinogre was cool. The first five minutes of the fight we had with him = "OMG WTP SO FAST". I call him the puppy (Barioth = kitty). Finally unlocked high rank Agnaktor in the village; TIME TO MAKE MY DIOS CHEST ARMOR

Arrol Wrote:I love Zino, the first Monster in the game to reach a SSJ form. In 6* I have a quest called "Merchant's Mission" which is regular Rathian. You must have missed the quest that unlocks it. Try doing any Pink Rathian quests you have that are uncompleted. And technically, Zinogre is not the first monster to reach a SSJ form, that honor belongs to Rajang. Although, he's the first one in the 3rd gen.

Village 6*, Desert Warfare. Hunt a Rathian and a Barroth one after the other.
Guaranteed 3 Carapace from both in main rewards.

Recommendations: Until you kill the Lagiacrus, please don't quit, the game tutorial is like until you fight lagiacrus, I'd even say until the Cedeaus. If you need info or you are stuck, just ask us and try to watch some weapons videos before using them, so that way you can start maximizing your damage. It's normal that a monster kill you a lot in the beginning, unless you are very used to the game. Try to have always a lot of potions and Mega potions, also always try to use armors and weapons that make your life easier for the monster you are going to hunt (for example to hunt the Gigginox and Rathian, you should use a Wroggi armor or for normal bosses like barroth or Azuros use the Jaggi armor, if you played pokemon you'll have no problem with this.) Having stamina full is the best thing ever. Have a happy hunting!.

Just make sure you try every weapon type before you decide on one, they're all very different, distinct, playstyles. And also what Chicocl said, especially the part about waiting until you at least beat Lagiacrus. Otherwise the game is still trying to teach you how to play. The tutorial isn't the best, you learn from doing.

I finally picked this up last week and would be down to swap guild cards with people this weekend if anyone's interested.

Why the pineapple did I not see the Desert Warfare quest before.
Ok, now I got the quest to take on Jenny (Jhen). Does anyone have any advice, any good weapons or armor I need? |
