I guess that's what I didn't quite like about Tri when I first got it for the Wii; the new monsters weren't as cool as the older ones (IMO of course). Dang, will miss Tigrex.
I'm just happy they put in narga, which is like a cooler version of tigrex anyway

Ooh, do like.
And LOL. I ordered my Circle Pad Pro on the day I ordered my 3DS, but the Circle Pad Pro just arrived today. I've been playing MH3U without it for a good 24 hours of gameplay. I have to say that it took some getting used to, but I find the camera controls (using the d-pad on the touch screen) is much better than what I was used to on the PSP.

I still love the quest "Monster Hunter" that was unlocked by clearing all Village Elder and Nekoht quests in Freedom Unite.
Rathalos, Tigrex, Nargacuga, and Rajang. All of them G rank stats, and two of the monsters in the arena at any time.
Good times.

Tigrex was in Portable 3rd. I don't know why they didn't carry him over into 3U. They even gave him a subspecies, Black Tigrex, with some unique moves that actually made him pretty interesting in comparison to regular Tigrex. I'm not sure why they didn't keep him.
To my knowledge, missing monsters that were in P3rd are: Tigrex, Akantor, Ukanlos, Bulldrome, and Amatsu. Amatsu I can understand, considering he was P3rd's penultimate boss, however I don't understand them removing Tigrex, Akantor, Ukanlos, and most of all Bulldrome. Bullfango are in the game but not Bulldrome? Why have Bullfango then? Just to piss off players? I miss Akantor and Ukanlos too, they always ended up giving good gear. Tigrex was more annoying than fun, though, with his constant charging being basically his only attack. He was a good skill wall though, where crappy players couldn't handle him.

They actually did some interesting things to Bulldrome, although he still had that retarded ability to just charge whenever he wanted without a warmup like he normally has. Outside of that he wasn't too bad...but I could understand the return of Bullfango with Bulldrome...but with no Bulldrome there shouldn't be Bullfango.

ono. I have found I can't play with the circle pad pro - I have small hands and it actually becomes a strain to use it for longer than 30 minutes Q_Q
And oh lawd, those charging piggies. There were few times when they actually charged me out of the way of a bigger monster's charge... though that was nothing compared to the times when they'd push me into harm's way. 8/
I thought Tigrex was in the game just for being a "mascot" boss for MHF2 as Rathalos was for MHF1. Blah. I'll miss him mostly for nostalgia's sake; felt very awesome after felling him for the first time (Just like when I killed my first ever Yian Kutku, LOL).

Well mascot monsters always return in a different monster hunter game, tigrex will be back when MH4 comes out.

That sucks about the CPP.
Tigrex can't really be compared to Rathalos in that way. Rathalos is literally the flagship monster for the entire SERIES. Many people associate the series with him, and he's known to all Monster Hunter players because of this.
Tigrex was a major monster in one game, not even its expansion which replaced him with Naruga(which IS in the game). Every game has a flagship monster, but Rathalos is, as I said, essentially the flagship monster for the series, not a single game. He's also been in every single Monster Hunter that's ever existed (1, F1, 2, F2, FU, Tri, P3rd, 3U, Frontier, and even the crappy spin off games).
I honestly don't know why he wasn't included when he was in P3rd though. They went through all this effort to revamp him into not a completely broken hitbox monster, and then throw it away for no reason. I don't get it. I don't understand the developers at this point, really. They're so off and on with which monsters should be in the game and which shouldn't, it makes no sense to me. Every console MH should be the ultimate version in comparison to all the other versions currently out. While in a way this is, it should still include every old monster. I don't understand why they are so random with what they exclude in each game. If they went through the effort to revamp the monster for the new engine, there's really no excuse I can think of for why they won't include said monster in a new game.
This all goes for Akantor, Ukanlos, and Bulldrome as well. Amatsu too. When they release a new version they give enough new monsters and variants to make it worth your purchase, so I don't understand any need to exclude anything.
I also think they should bring back areas. I liked that they brought back areas in FU, but they never did that again. With MH4 we will have 4 sets of areas, one for each generation. It would be absolutely amazing to have the variety of all 4 sets to go on hunts in. Hell, even add a system that randomizes which you end up in. So for example, the quest info just says "Jungle" but you have no idea WHICH jungle you'll end up in. That would be cool.

Been trying to craft the full Deviljho armor, got 3 pieces already, but the other 2 are being a pain in the ass. One of them requires another Zinogre Jasper, when I already used the one I had for my THUNDER Dual Swords, and the other requires Deviljho Fangs, which I have not got a single one of. I've fought him 10 times already, broken his face twice each time, and captured each time except once, and still haven't got a single Fang, which is ridiculous cause it says in the guide that if you break his face both times it's a 50% chance to get and a 15% chance to get two of them. It's the Lagi Horn+ thing all over again. Ugh.
Since I've completed all the village quests, all I've been doing is upgrading my armors/making armors and weapons that I didn't have, but once that's done, I figured I'd start doing the guild quests by myself offline. So I have two questions: 1) if I do the guild quests offline, will they still be treated as being completed if I get online with a friend? I just feel bad getting too far ahead of him. 2) I know that when online with other people, the monsters in the quests have their stats increased to match the number of players in the room, but in the guild quests offline, do they still have slightly buffed stats equal to online? Might be a stupid question, but I figured I'd ask anyways.

2) I'm pretty sure they still do. That's how it always has been, so I don't see why it would change.

I hate that moment when you do a High Rank dual quest and then realize after you've finished that you actually needed Low Rank materials.

Know what I hate? When after going charm farming or mining/harvesting, I forget an important part of my loadout for hunting and midway through the battle I'm desperately searching through my items only to realize I forgot to put them back in my inventory. My inventory changes dramatically depending on what I'm doing (as most of yours do, too, I assume) but I'm pretty forgetful. Just started the G-Rank quests in the offline port, did my first hunt against the G-Rank Royal Ludroth (wasn't at all bad, barely took any damage) however midway through the battle as my blades got duller, I facepalmed after realizing I left my Whetstones in the chest. So I had to think outside the box and I went to the fishing spot at the starting campsite in the Flooded Forest and fished for about 5 minutes to get some Whetfish, allowing me to sharpen my weapon finally. Naturally after doing all of this I come to find out the Royal Ludroth was literally only a few attacks away from limping, so pft.
Was actually surprised during my fight with Goldbeard Ceadeus, I severely underestimated him, thinking he'd be as easy as the regular version. But he nearly carted me with his super-powerful water lasers (hell, I even have full HR Ivory Lagi armor which is resistant to Water AND I got the Felyne buff that makes you even more resistant to Water-element attacks and he still did about 20% of my health bar; I'd hate to see how much it does without water resistance). Took me awhile to kill him still, though, which kinda sucks cause I was thinking about making his armor set since it has Sharpness +1 and HG Earplugs.

That's why I tend to just bring everything with me that I would likely need on a quest, with the exclusion of Capturing supplies. Then I remember the number of item slots I use, so when I go to restock my inventory I don't accidentally forget something. I often spend over a minute trying to remember what's missing though.
Right now every run I go on includes: Potions, Mega Potions, Antidotes, Cool Drinks, Hot Drinks, Well-Done Steaks, a Powercharm, an Armorcharm, Dung Bombs, a Farcaster, Mega Pickaxes, Mega Bugnets and Whetstones if I'm going Blader. As a result I know my inventory should always have 12/13 items, and if it doesn't I scourer my box until I realize what I'm missing. Eventually I'll add a Powertalon and Armortalon, but I don't want to waste the Jho claws I have yet.
As long as you don't need the inventory space, I would suggest doing the same thing. Keeping a page open for carves and what not should be enough, so 12-16 items you always have on you should be fine. If you're going gathering you don't need any of that crap so there's no real big deal about having a 2/3rds full inventory when you start a hunt. It also doesn't hurt to have the items you need in case a second monster shows up, since that's random. I tell you, I've saved myself a lot of headaches by doing this.

I'm sad that I don't have anyone to hunt with in real life. Being unable to do the Hunters for Hire part of the game is hurting me.

Amazing how I can kill a 5 star Rathian with ease, but a 4 star Rathalos makes me lose all my provisions, I've killed him on may second last potion.

If you know anyone with a Wii U you could try to go online with some people and grab Guild Cards. It's not really that great of a system anyway, all it is is sending people you have guild cards for on quests and they bring back materials. It's not like they go on quests with you.
