The Official Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Topic
Piggy 2.0 Wrote:After some deliberation (Re: Asked 4chan to do some math for me), I've changed to table 6. Best table for GS, and I should be able to survive with the bare minimum in HBG/Hammer equips.

Also, you can set the time to about a minute before the window without any repercussions. Get a stopwatch and hope for the best.

A minute seems WAY too short for the game to load up completely and to get through all the company names and stuff. That's why I said five. Better off just waiting with a timer than missing it because you rushed.

Also guys remember to put your information down for the hunter's list

Well, a minute was more of a rough estimate. Using the almighty Table 10 for as an example, you'd set the WiiU/3DS's time to 00:13, then wait till 1:43-1:44 on a timer to get the table. 1:30 should AT LEAST be long enough to get through to the main menu. I'll do some testing/post some lucky bastard's results later.

EDIT: Weeelp, seems it got taken down. Pretty darn fast, too.

Welp, just got back from the midnight release at Gamestop. Sadly it seems like me and my friend were the only ones who were there for MH3U, everyone else was just there for that Gears of War prequel and that shitty cash grab Walking Dead game. I can't believe how many people were there for that Walking Dead game, they even had a demo in the store and it was just... just awful. Even the owner of the store laughed and said he can't wait for the day people will be storming the store for pre-order cancels and refunds.

Anyways, updating stuff on the Wii U now and then me and my friend are diving right in to pummel some monsters.

I posted the JP MH3G 1,200 page super guide earlier. I mean, yeah, you need some JP knowledge to navigate it, but the basic names and stuff aren't that hard to remember so it's still a useful tool.

It's nothing like Fire Emblem, or pretty much any other RPG on nintendo consoles for that matter. Tri really put me off, but I liked the demo, I'm going to wait for it to drop significantly in price before I even consider getting it.

About to fight my first Royal Ludroth. so intense (not really)

I just did Azurlos or whatever they named him (the bear). Was actually surprised by his pin, didn't know he had one. It might be new, but I wouldn't know considering I don't think I've ever actually been hit by him before...but the starter duals are so awful I was bouncing off of his arms the entire fight.

Edit: Oh god he's SO EASY. I think it's even worse than it was in P3rd...Upgraded my duals once and in the Hunt mission he was limping in like a minute. He's like an exaggerated Jaggia.

I got my copy of it, today. Gamestop only had 3 copies in, because no one pre-ordered it here.

I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing in-game and I'm entirely new to the Monster Hunter series. @_@ I went into one of the solo missions via the port and I got my ass whooped pretty quick by some "big-time" monster, which I think I had to slay for that mission. I didn't have much time to play, though, since my dad and his girlfriend wanted to watch TV, so that was where I stopped.

Buuuuuuuuuut, if anyone wants to play online, I'm free pretty much any time (except when the TV is taken by my dad and his girlfriend). Tongue

I hope they patch in the off-TV play mode soon.

T6?

I was thinking the same thing about Jaggi armor...but I also don't care for the skills all that much.

Then again it's a decent starting set, so I probably will in the end anyway. The starting set has no defense, so I have to do something eventually.

Table 6, I meant. Also, where can I find Machalite Ore? It eludes me.

Oh, right. I should have realized that. For some reason I was thinking Tier 6 which made no sense.

Machalite Ore comes from pretty much every mining spot, even in the Island. It's a little rarer there, though. If you have access to the Desert, try there, cause you need Ice Crystals for some Jaggi stuff too so you can get them both in one spot. If you're not getting lucky, try mining on a regular quest and not a resource gather.

I believe in the Island the purple colored mining spots are better for Machalite, but I could be wrong. I honestly don't remember if the color actually matters.

It's a very good idea to always bring Iron Pickaxes and Bugnets, and constantly be getting both on every mission you go on. Mushrooms and Herbs are far less important for gear, however a lot of gear uses bugs and ores, and you can typically fit a map's offerings of both in your Inventory although that can depend on how lucky you are and how many items that particular area gives. Stocking up as much as possible on those things now will save you hassle later when you need to make something and it wants like 25-30 Iron Ore and you have 3.

Once the farm really gets started up you should be better off, but until then you have to do most of your gathering on your own.

I would recommend trying to keep gathering like that to your offline quests though, since it can piss some people off if you go off gathering. If there's a consensus to gather though, that's a different story. It all depends on who you're with.

To everyone:
I recommend checking out the DLC section already. They have the 5,000p freebie up already, as well as some random Bullfango quest that is probably for Raw Meat like it always is.
Reply
Actually that Bullfango quest is for the "Incomplete Plans" ticket used in making the ML-001 Baltzenger lance and the Baron's Blazon gunlance.
