The Official Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Topic

People just tell me that the HH has more sustained damage now and Hammer is bursty. Not sure about exhaust/KO values though.

I feel that the only difficult part of HH is remembering the songs of each weapon. I think you should clarify that HH being "combo oriented" is more toward working your song notes into a combo. I rarely find myself going into the 2nd part of recital mode unless we're still prepping.

Tried out SA and I'm actually liking it. I just need to remember which buttons do what now. .__.;

Even without the notes HH is very combo oriented because depending on what your last action was, X and Y do different things. Most other weapons always do the same thing regardless of situation with some small exceptions, but not nearly at the extent that HH is now. SA has a similar situation too. It's a good point though, and can be added to the information.

You should always try to replay buffs every 30-40 seconds, because they only last a minute for most. Also some buffs have extra effects for being stacked. A good example of this is the base WW/PP note combo, when done twice it adds a movement bonus to only you, but also rebuffs everyone with the original buff as well. In P3rd, you could open the information for your HH to find the available note combinations. I don't think you can do that in the demo due to you not being able to access your equipment menu though.

I like how my friends and I are playing in the studio and other people ask what we're doing and end up wanting to play as well.

Huh, in P3rd it just depended on the direction you put the control stick. It's pretty difficult to properly use the backward swing and the side + ground pound thing anyway, so you're usually just going triangle + circle + triangle + circle. The hilt jab is just plain weird, lol.

I have a set with Flute Master until I get a proper set.... ;-; *cough*

But yeah, I'm using like 3 or 4 different HHs, so I only ever end up remembering the main reason why I picked that particular HH song and base song. e__e

Interesting. It works both ways then, because I rarely hold down the analog in any direction when I'm comboing unless I have to.

Oh well, no big deal.

If things go the way they should, I'll have my WiiU info and whatnot the day of the release. Only downside is that I can't play for a while due to WORK.

Tempted to go buy the console before the game comes out, but then it'd be sitting next to my TV gathering dust. aaaaaa

In the meantime, enjoy this image of the worst, most frustrating monster in the game

Look upon its countenance, and despair

Charm Tables are so god damn retarded....

Apparently in MH3U, the charm table your character has is set at character creation, not at game startup. That means if you get the wrong table for a particular charm, you are fu'cked forever and can never get it. The table is decided the second you press New Game, and takes over an hour (if you're speed running) to determine which you have. It is also set based on the second, so you really have to be lucky to get what you want without a lot of research on this crap.

I do not understand why Capcom is making a pivotal part of making gear so set on randomness and luck. There are a lot of good charms that are only available on specific tables, like the Flute+10 Charm, which is only available on Table 10 of 17.

Just so fu'cking stupid.

I'm not too worried about charm tables because I'm used to PSO. Besides, if it lets me play the game differently than I'm used to that's more opportunities to learn.

I'm pretty sure the ID stuff in PSO still gave you the ability to get every item in the game, but I never played all that much of PSO.

Limiting your ability to obtain items based on when you started the game is simply the most retarded mechanic a developer could EVER think up. EVER.

I honestly hate the entire concept of the charm tables, even back when it was just restarting the game to get a new table. This stupid "You're stuck on the table for all of time" is just plain ridiculous.

Nope. Each Section ID had its own drop table. It didn't affect things like consumables, obviously, but equipment drops are entirely dependant on the ID.
To be fair, though, Section IDs are much more controllable than Charm Tables in 3 Ultimate. Section IDs are based off of Race, Class, and amount of characters in your name, while the Charm Tables work off multiple variables such as the 3DS clock and etc.

Yeah someone posted that translated on GameFAQs. Still doesn't change how utterly retarded the entire concept is and I don't really have the time to be sitting around for a specific second on the clock, then spend an hour over and over hoping I get the table I want in case I mess up even slightly with the time.

It's just so stupid. The game is bad enough with time consumption, not that I'm complaining because I like how much there is to do, but having to now perfectly time when to create my character so I can get the charms I want, and that's even if I can get a table that has mostly charms I want (chances are all the best will be spread over all the tables, I haven't looked at the tables in depth yet), is just retarded.

Plus you can always trade something exclusive to your Section ID. You can't trade Charms.

This guy's been doing requests for MHP3 on 4chon for a while now, he's got a pretty extensive video list. Its a nice little peek into what 3U will have in it (Aside from a few monsters).

This is one of them monsters.

To my knowledge Amatsu is not in 3U. Amatsu is the P3rd exclusive final boss. 3U gets Guran-Mirasou or whatever its name is.
