It's like playing a more fun and varied version of a bowmaster that bosses a little worse and trains better.

Nothing that I have said thus far should have been interpreted that way. I don't think it is common to have that much money, or even perfect gear for that matter. What I am saying is that it is easier to obtain such items and money through all of the new content and items Nexon offers. I don't hold any person other than myself to any standards in regards to equips as each person plays the game differently. Some don't want to spend countless hours hunting mini bosses, or browsing the FM, and as a result they won't have as good of gear as those who set apart that time to try and make themselves better. Does that mean they can't do the same thing and get good gear? No, it's a choice that they make.

According to the people I've talked to, not everyone can achieve the same results from spending the same amount of time in the FM. Some people might spend tons of mesos and hours upon hours in the FM trying to invest, resell, etc, and not come out with much. Others might do a quick scan of the FM on their world and set up a shop after buying up a few things, making a 50-100m profit overnight without putting much thought to it. Like almost everything else in maple, it's not how much time/mesos/money you spend, it's how you spend it that really matters.

considering i have trained 2 marksmen to 178+ id say i know what mm can and cant do. sure they are fun, thats the reason i am playing one still but saying you get the best of both worlds its pretty out there.

its ok though you are entitled to your point of view

So what can't you do that a BM can? Goggleemoticon

It's just the 2-3 bosses that BMs can pin with Hurricane.

...

Maybe in the FM, a little. Care to explain what the 'everything else' is?
I guess you could talk about the social aspect, but that's not exactly specific to maple Rolleyes
Pretty much anything that is is all about brute forcing without thought.

we also do 2/3 of their dmg, we cant pin for crap, since we shoot in bundles instead of 1 arrows we kill slower (2 hits for whatever is much slower than 8 arrows) and so fort.

there is a lot MM cant do, but i still love mine Goggleemoticon

I agree. The thing I dislike the most is not being able to pin, but Pierce is one of my most favorite skills in the game.

I guess I could ask this here..?

I find my highest (main) character, with the most TIME, NX, and MESOS put into it completely boring..
Yup, I'm just a new Lvl 70 Marauder, and I find my massive amount of useful skills to be "unuseful" (ironic!)

I just, never know when to use what skill at what time, and I miss spamming skills like MapleStory is supposed to be like xD
And bossing with my skills is just terrible.. using Uppercut / FFist / Backspin in any sort of combos is very tough to master and different with each boss! D:

Any suggestions =/

If you like spamming one key, start a sin or wait for Aran.
If you're looking for bossing, it will be a while, at least I liked bossing with drain/blast (charged before entering) at Latanica around 9x, but more than that you'll have to wait at least till lvl 1 barrage so you can do something, and you're not going to be really great until you max barrage (and even with max barrage and 11 SI I'm still not liked at bosses anyways).

Without Apples the difference in damage is a lot less than that.

I actually did Uppercut+FF+FF for my combos no backspin at all. Seems easier to me atleast.

Only in your perfect scenario DPS thread, in actual game play its a vast canyon.

Here in Khaini buccs are loved at bosses because of TL and SI. And buccs are also a rare class in Khaini Rolleyes

That would be true if

1. Snipe's cooldown WAS 5 seconds
2. We were super computers able to snipe exactly every 5 seconds

Sadly that won't happen

It's close even at 7 seconds. If it were actually perfect whatever it would be a tiny difference and SI would actually put MMs ahead.

I second that, my DPS isn't all that bad. Why do most high lvl MM I know like to underplay their class so much? ;o w/e

when it takes me 45 mins to do what a corsair on the same level can do in 25 i know you all just living on dreams.

those extra 2 seconds mean a LOT for our dps. and you say 7 but you forget its actually 5-10 which means you only look at the snipe cooldown or you look at whats going on in your screen.

i am not looking down at MM you guys just have no idea what our reality is like Blush

I don't know about you other MM but at 14x-16x I could dodo faster than any other class in the game (beating higher level bms and nls and any melees that would bother with dodo) and that's more than enough for me. Maybe while standing still and appling at zakum I won't be doing the most damage (not like BMs beat NLs on apples anyway), but when you have at least 5-6 attackers a bit of dps won't make much of a difference anyway. At worst it'll cost you a couple minutes of your time and a few more potions. Pap's easy to pin, bm/mm don't bother with bf anymore. Anego is harder to pin but I don't bother with it considering how many high levels and how much drama is there. Snipe's cooldown is slower than it should be but it still adds a nice bit of damage compared to strafe only (which would already be a bit more than 2/3rds of bm dps with equal value in equip), plus it pierces super def up while other classes just stand and wait for it to end. It also pierces damage reflect and ignores the effects of darkness. BMs only look and feel like their dps is so much better, in reality it's not much of a difference. I've played a sniper to 104 and a MM to 169 so maybe I haven't had as much experience as some other MM, but the experience I've had has been all good.

edit: A few more things I want to touch on. First, the strafe vs hurricane overkill issue. I've used hurricane, it has some overkill as well (another 2-3 arrows more than needed hit the monsters before you can go on to the next one), second unlike bms strafe isn't the only thing we use for killing. At skeles I might strafe and turn around and jump AE away, or turn the other way and strafe/snipe/pierce/whatever behind me and let frostprey finish it, or use the skele (probably frozen) as a multiplier to set up a pierce to kill some of his friends behind him. Other pinnable bosses would include Tengu, but with all those himes do archers really bother with it much? I think it's better left to the melees.

yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but we're also entitled to our freedom of speech and consequently the freedom to debate Rolleyes. Also nobody's scared of a MM bandwagon, because the average mapler doesn't want to give up on girlicane and using the favourite generic ranged fantasy weapon. They could probably remove the cooldown on snipe altogether and there'd still be more BMs than MMs.
