Well, given how they always put the blame on the users when s hit hits the fan like this, who wouldn't expect them to go to THOSE levels?

For one part, I'm glad Nexon took some relatively fast action about this, if it was indeed patched.
For the other part, it's sad to see they maintain this attitude of pretending nothing happened, and not inform the community they're working on it. If the patch was indeed to solve this issue, the least they could do is post a notice letting us know about it, instead of trying to sneak it in as a SC (really Nexon?).
Same thing with the hacked GM; when i saw they actually posted about it i thought "wow Nexon actually acknowledging something", but of course I was proved wrong when the post merely blamed the hacking on the GM, and they somehow failed to acknowledge how their amazing new security measures (including PIC) got bypassed in less than 5 minutes.

give nexon credit, the last remote hack only took 2 days for a emergency server check to patch it, this took about the same amount of time. This fix required a patch to fix, last one was done entirely server sided.

If only they could have the same response time to other game destroying hacks. DC hacking has been around for like a year now? Pathetic.

I wish they would stop trying to sweep everything under the rug. I'm glad they had a relatively quick response to this (hopefully it is actually fixed), but they need to acknowledge their mistakes. Keeping their customers in the dark is wrong.
And I agree with the above poster. They need to have this kind of a response to every hack in game. DC hacking is one of the most annoying hacks, and that has been around for ages now.

Has there been any "concrete" evidence to support it? Or are people just assuming a "no changes to .wz file" patch meant fixing this hack.

I'm not gonna give credit to Nexon for keeping a flawed system. Look around.

How do you "prove" something doesn't/never did/no longer exists?

Well, you can prove its continued existence.

I agree with this, but I have to say it's the smartest move Nexon can really make. After all the security preaching they've been doing lately, if they were to say "hey guys, there's a hack that lets anyone take over your account without any of your information, and we patched it" would just raise the question of "what if there's something else out there like this that slipped under your nose?"
While they can brush it off by saying "we would know if something else like this happened" it still makes them look bad that this even existed in the first place. On top of that, announcing it would mean that Nexon has to actually take responsibility to help every person who was caught up in this. Unfortunately, that's not something they like to do, so by sweeping it under the rug they can stick to only helping out a few lucky players and giving the rest a cold shoulder. Whether this is right or not is up for you to decide for yourself, but this is actually the most beneficial course of action Nexon can take.

I know there can't really be any good proof, but something like the post above at least makes the likelihood of the hack patched greater. If no more reports of it come in, then that's a good sign, but doesn't guarantee it to be patched.

There won't ever be any evidence that it was patched. Nexon will just pretend it was never there. Hell, there could be a new exploit in the next coming patch or the patch after or in the next server check. There could be a hack out there that is much worse than remote hacks. It took a few months till we heard about this hack again. You can either continue playing or just quit. That's just how Nexon is with Maple Story, there will never be a definite answer and every day you're at risk, the chances of you getting compensated is VERY unlikely. You will just have to be very cautious on everything you do if you decide to continue playing.

Pretty sad that players get their account compensated without the need to be interacted with by hackers nowadays. Aye?
