Well there is this but idk if this means really anything since it's an old news update. Things could have changed.

Basically it says that they are indeed going to bring MS2 over to NA and other places by the end of 2016. This was posted last year. Guess we just have to wait and see. I personally would still play MS2 even if it was more casual. The time I played in KMS2 I found it fun. Just didn't continue to play it due to the language barrier.

Alot of things have changed in the meantime, regarding organisations, but also game popularity. They have tried to change stuff a lot since then, and most of them are for the worse imo (RNGfest and 2casual) Don't get me wrong. It's still a decent game in the pure basics, especially for new people, since they made leveling a breeze with the latest changes. It just really needs more and better content for both playerbases (Hardcore / Casual) in a consistent manner to really survive. Last real content patch was November and we're finally getting another one next week (5/26), now that's a dire situation.

Maplestory2 facebook posts are already hinting at another class (possibly two more?).
----------------------------
The big update on 5/26 was a new boss - nutaman(?)

This is currently the strongest guy in the game afaik, +15 (only one in the game) and +13 star assassin.
The game is still moving along but it's not improving much.

Do you guys have any reccommendations on active streamers/content uploaders for MS 2? Feels like the sources i had over the last year have really slowed down on covering the game and i'd like to see more of regular play/current endgame activities.
I'd also like to see more videos of the housing and fashion system as well.

Dude that looks like Zakum on crack, I love it.
Man, I really wish they'd just announce this games localization already. I know there is an English Patch for MS2, but the split-second lag between hitting mobs and dodging attacks and the overall language barrier is just too crippling...but the game itself is so fun.

Maplestory 2 was released one year ago today! 07/07/15 ~
Couple of recent highlights:
Last weeks' patch raised the current level cap to 99 (from 50). There have been two bug fix patches since then, both including a nerf to different training methods (spamming certain dungeons). Nexon wants these levels to take a while and people were leveling too fast. I believe the highest player is currently ~70.
Accessories were revamped - higher drop rates from dungeons, better stats, and rings/earrings/necklaces now have a 'socket' system (kind of like nebulites but not really) - up to three slots can be unlocked and gems can be placed in them. This was an enormously needed change to gear progression/upgrades. This also provides an additional way to make money, as it takes a lot of farming (in a party!) to get the materials required to upgrade gems (level 1~10). The gems can be sold, but the upgrade materials cannot.
A talent system was introduced. You gain points for levels past 50 (plus an additional 10 points to start) for bonus attributes - seen here. This is almost guaranteed to be expanded upon.
Over the coming month, two new classes will be released (Striker and Soul Binder).

Mudfish. It costs $3 to load it up but only uses $1 a month. It's ridiculously good too.

NexonKR isn't taking any pomegranate from exploiters - every single glitch (however minor) has caused ban waves (3 days ~ 1 month). There was a glitch with the new patch that a lot of people abused, and bans are just wearing off. When one of them logged back in, they were in the jail map with this debuff:
Belmar's Punishment. Cannot do:
- All chat
- Registration (?)
- Produce UGC
- Wear UGC
- Construction items
- Sell items
- Change profile image
- Change guild
- Change character name
- Send mail
- Cannot join/make parties
- Other community related activities
Picking weeds in the prison map will reduce your sentence
I think it's effective for three days and picking weeds reduces 10 seconds. I find this hilarious.
I've been having a ton of fun after the new patch went live. It's definitely marketable to NA. Hopefully we see some sort of notice soon.

Wait, is this debuff counting down while offline or is it ingame active time only?

I believe it counts down while offline. Several other people had it as well and they're all expiring soon - it's been three days and they haven't been on 24/7.
New patch going live in about two hours -- Striker class being added. Dual-wield, fire element based.
They've been pretty weird with patch notes. They go live when the servers do, not before. There's always a lot of suspense wondering what we'll get. I'm expecting some QoL changes this patch as well. It seems a little too difficult to get accessories with good stats after the recent change so I'm hoping there's a change in that area.
A huge perma ban wave (~5000 accounts) went out yesterday, for people with "illegit" (botted?) mesos. The top player (Simil) was one of the ones banned. Korean forums are expecting some of the bans to be lifted, because some were probably caught in the crossfire while doing high-values sales on the auction house (technically it's called the black market but it's a legitimate in game feature and that might confuse some people given the circumstances here). The new gems have a very low upgrade rate, so high levels are selling for really crazy amounts. I've farmed them for about five hours and haven't succeeded any upgrades, and there have been people selling level 7~8 gems. Simil posted pictures of a few of his sales of those gems.

I've watched a lot of videos by Simil on youtube, i hope that they're not really guilty of that, it would be dissapointing...

Simil is free from what I hear.
Striker class patch (secretly) nerfed accessory drop rate from the runaway train dungeon (this might have actually happened before?), but boosted the rates of getting double good lines (which was nearly impossible before).
The IGN Hitmonchan wasn't taken so I'm pretty proud my character that attacks with its fists is named that.
Patch on 07/28 is some new dungeon/PQ? Not much information at this time. Looks like you can change it between 1~4 people and you can upgrade your skills for this dungeon only. Hoping the rewards are good. I'm expecting it to give gems/dust (material for upgrading gems). It has a 5/week reward limit.

Rewards give gems and dust. Higher difficulties can reward up to level 4 gems (which were crazy expensive and difficult to make before this patch). Clear count is 5/day. Mobs are crazy buffed, and the skills you can upgrade make the class play entirely differently than normal. I think it is loads of fun. There are 15 different stages, with exponentially increasing difficulty between each.
One of the best additions to the game so far, IMO.
An elusive (I saw none in over 200+ runs, from anyone in party) armor set -- lumi de -- had its drop rate enormously buffed and stats randomized (in a good way). I got a piece on the first Magnus clear I did after the update.

08/11 patch introduced a new class: Soul Binder. I haven't had a chance to play it (or watch any videos on it), but it is a MAGE/INT class.

preview of next patch on 8/25
1. Chaos Papulatus (!!!! Hype af - partial data for this has been in game for a while, not a surprise)
2. Kandura (new end-game boss)
3. Stage 16-20 added for dungeon talked about in my previous post. Can reward new weapon. Speculated to be an "evolving" type that gets stronger as you kill mobs and gain experience.
4. New 4-person dungeons (unsure if challenge or easy)

Took us a while, but we (English community) finally cleared the new end-game boss!
Chaos Papulatus is really easy. We're all at the point where we can brute force it and not have to worry about mechanics TOO much.
