You need to remember something, the grind is reduced for 1x. 2x+ users have always been a special case and, for once, Nexon is not catering to the ones with power to enhance their experience gain by either spending money or going to great lenghts to get "rep mules", something your average gamer just wont do.

The problem seems, to me, that most people complain because it affects the "me" -and they have all the right to complain- but also need to understand that, while looking at BB, you need to see the bigger picture.



EDIT: Also, the ones affected are the rep harvesters. The ones that buy the enhancements with money, unless Nexon decides to copy JMS's model, are still going to enjoy faster leveling.

1 - 200 has been lessened for those who use 1x. In other words, casual players who don't abuse every exploit in the game and/or pay copious amounts of money. I'm sure you can concoct all sorts of situations where you're somehow worsened by big bang, but the bottom line is that for the majority of us, BB will revolutionize the way we level for the better. And by majority, I'm talking 95% of the players.

Party buff no longer exists after Big Bang. Self-buff is just 1.2x, and only 1/2 hour + 1/4 hour. So instead of pretty much unlimited 2x I now get 45 minutes of 1.2x a day. That's the same as nothing at all.

Yes but after Big Bang 1.2x is more than enough. Plus I said there could still be 2x in the cs left. We were given no indication that NEXON removed them or changed them.

I'm not butthurt at how many changes are coming to Maple because after BB, Paladins are going to be massively overpowered and I could care less since most stuff will probably get 1HKOed now for me. I'm showing you how butthurt people always are because someone was crafty and ingenious enough to steal the cookie from the cookie jar before they did, aka got to some unrealistic goal before they could such as FangBlade getting to 200 before anyone else. Seriously, learn to read the whole damn post before you reply.

As I said Level 200 was about time and money. Read the post again and see where I said it, not as directly, but I said it. Here's a hint:
What I am getting at in saying is that people have used excuse after excuse for their own shortcomings, ignorance, and jealousies for this game and not being where the next person in line got to before they did. People get so bent out of shape because someone killed a super strong boss before they did, got to Level X faster than they did, got some rare and valued item before they did, and whatever else they can think of as an excuse to trash talk the next person.

As for the BB accomplishment issue. For those of us who spent a lot of time working for what we have gotten, that now anyone can do without the same effort and minimal investment of anything.

Think of this:

You go take a driving test and the instructor tells you to parallel park. You can't do it and you fail the test and have to come back the following week for a retry.

You're friend goes for the same test the following day and the same instructor doesn't have him parallel park. He passes the test on the first try, while you now must come back for a retest that may or may not include parallel parking.

Does anyone understand that? Anyone at all?

Basically your friend did only half the test and got what he wanted while you did the full test but failed.

Show me the logic in that and relate that to what now players will be faced with.

The instructor could have focused on some other parameter that really tested the friend. It is unknown about the ability to parallel park, but he could have made up for that by excelling in something else (such as better turning). Eventually he'll have to face parallel park situations.

In MS, everyone will still feel the hit of the grind.

Please don't put that much attachment to hitting a high level in an MMO. Just because you feel hitting 190 or 200 is an 'achievement' doesn't really make it so. Let's be practical. When you apply for a job and it asks you to put down what you considered some of your greatest achievements, you probably won't put "Lv 200 MS on 1x no potential equips". That's just sad.

Making friends and enjoying the experiences with friends is just about the only thing worth semantics in Maplestory.

I think you're completely missing the point and just finding something to nitpick. His point was that BB benefits the majority, made-up percentage notwithstanding.

**On Topic** - I think I'll have faith in Global Nexon for this patch, they know they've messed up a lot lately. This time around I think they finally got it in their heads and might be trying a lot harder here, but all in all, speculation and hoping for the best.

That's a bit unfair to only look at him continueing the arguement, when a certain someone made the post about wanting to hang everyone for wanting BB in the first place. Just because he didn't prematurely pull out(something none of them have done) doesn't mean he's the absoloute worst in this thread.

What he has done in other threads doesn't warrant the way you're still only looking at him for in this thread. That's why I said it was unfair.Besides, isn't it just as trolling to make a little cape-twirl to him then try to guise your post as getting back on topic? I'm sure I'm going to be flagged as a flamer as well for contributing to the tension built up in this thread, but this is merely a debate on the changes of BB, not some civil warlike arguement that results in losing friends. I'm sorry for contributing to the tension in this thread when it looked like it was starting to die down, although I don't expect that to be an excuse for me doing so, and my post still stands.

I'm sad they took out the monster book. I soooooo loved my little collection of them. After I stopped leveling, I spent my time card hunting and I found it to be very relaxing. <sigh> I will definitely check out BB, at the very least. I may actually make a Battle Mage, but we'll see. I've played Maple off and on since the beginning of '07 and I've never made another character besides a mule. Battle Mage does sound interesting, but we'll see if it's interesting enough for me.

Yes. I'm just going to put it like this so this whole argument can end. There are factors I love about Big Bang. There are factors I hate about Big Bang. What I hate another person may love. What I love another person may hate. It doesn't matter what you like and you don't like it's coming and we can't stop it. Many people consider getting high in ms an accomplishment. Some find getting their first 100m an accomplishment. Each persons different and you shouldn't call someone out just because they express a different feeling. Jamie sees leeching and BB as a slap in the face to those who accomplished before it. Herborist doesn't. He says (not literally)'suck it up, its over with just enjoy the new exp decrease and who cares if it was harder back then, it's easier now take advantage.' Theres nothing wrong with either side of that. I hate the map changes of Big Bang. Others don't. I like the exp decrease, others don't. I love the skill changes, others don't. I hate some of the monster changes, others don't. I mean come on guys we're not some cut throat community. We're suppose to be better than the other sites who attack each other for no reason.
